Over ten millennia ago before present times...
The first-born Princess of Mercury turned to the Mariner Castle’s delivery chambers for the umpteenth time, her mother, Queen Mercurine, had been in the maternity ward for the last thirteen hours.
One final pained scream erupted from the maternity ward before an infant’s wail sounded from within, indicating that the Queen had successfully given birth.
“King, Princess.” the head matron shot out from the delivery ward and knelt before King Hermes and Princess Amity. “The Queen has given birth to a second Princess!”
“Mother.” the four-year-old Amity reached for her mother’s hands before turning to the honey-eyed infant in the baby cot. “Is she my little sister?”
“Yes, dear.” Mercurine whispered.
“Sive.” Hermes spoke. “The second Princess of Mercury, Princess Sive.”
“Understood, Your Majesty.” the registration scribe on-site responded and penned down the details of the newest addition to the royal family.
Five years later...
“Big sister!” Sive called out to her elder sister who was seated by the side of the main fountain of the royal palace commonly dubbed the ‘Mirage Fountain’ due to the fact that the fountain waters had the ability to create illusions.
“Sive, did you sneak out again?” Amity rebuked her younger sister, who had apparently slipped out of the palace when her maids were not looking.
“Sister...” Sive whined, before brightening up and taking out the chessboard she managed to sneak out. “Teach me how to play.”
“Very well.” Amity nodded and the two sisters set out the chessboard.
Hidden behind a nearby pillar, the dark brown-haired Garrett watched over his charge and her sister, the two Princesses beginning a game of chess.
