Work Text:
Once upon a time in a faraway kingdom, lived a gorgeous young man with hair as dark as night, lips as red as roses, and eyes as bright as stars named Hyunjin. He's the prince, actually, but since the king passed away and his stepmother, Minha, took the crown, he's been abandoned by living in the castle as a servant.
The queen is a witch who desires to be the fairest in the land. So when one day, the magic mirror in her room--who was only saying her name when being asked about who's the fairest being in the world, says Hyunjin's name instead, she is furious. She then orders the hunter, Han, to kill Hyunjin in the woods and bring his heart back as proof that the hunter has completed his task.
Unaware of his target appearance in the present (since the last time he saw the prince was years ago before the king's passing), Han approaches Hyunjin deep in the forest while collecting herbs. Just to be stunned by his beauty in the next second.
The hunter got to head over heels for the prince instantly.
Of course, he won't have the heart to kill the prince anymore. So instead, Han leads the way for Hyunjin to flee further until they reach the dwarves' house.
The leader of the dwarves, Wolf Chan, listened to the two's matter about the queen and agreed to take care of Hyunjin until it was safe enough for him to return. However, Han must go back to the kingdom and settle everything, so Hyunjin's life isn't in danger again.
In the midway of returning, Han met the neighboring kingdom's prince Seungmin. He is also on his way to the kingdom. Being sent to check up on the report that prince Hyunjin has been missing for years. The hunter then explains what happened and his plan to Seungmin who agreed to help them. And to make it looks like Han is done with his task of killing Hyunjin, he killed a boar and took its heart, so the queen doesn't get suspicious.
Then, they continue the journey with a new quest: to dethrone the queen.
