Chapter Text
Garcello frowned as he looked down at the concrete floor of the the alleyway that he was in, unable to meet with Daddy Dearest’s eyes that were glowing red with obvious agitation.
Garcello wondered how everything that occurred in his life that led up to this very moment, from not being able to make that much of a living for himself, to sleeping on a mattress in an alleyway, to making a deal with one of the most infamous and dangerous people in the world.
They both were aware of the terms of the agreement and the consequences that Daddy Dearest can make on his own accord if Garcello failed to meet those requirements. He wondered why he even decided to make this arrangement in the first place. He should have known that he would have not been able to go through with this plan that Daddy Dearest concocted for him, as he was just too nice of a person in general.
Garcello just wanted a better life. A second chance at living life to the complete fullest. To have some kind of way to start over and make a new. But the moment that he had encountered Boyfriend, and realized completely what he was doing…. He had a change of heart, and decided to go back on his word. However, he knew that doing so would have drastic consequences, but at the end of the day, he decided that whatever happened with him would be better than having Boyfriend be in serious danger. Though he knew that Boyfriend had to have encountered people that Daddy Dearest hired to take him out.
Daddy Dearest took a few steps further as he looked at Garcello, causing him to snap out of his thoughts as he shivered at the demon’s gaze. With a dark and low tone, he had spoken.
“..How is that I made an offer with you, and yet you can’t go through with my orders?"
Garcello didn’t respond, as he remained quiet. He knew that no matter what was said, he’d end up in a never ending torture.
Daddy Dearest grumbled in anger when he didn’t get an answer. He then looked the other way as he walked towards the table he had nearby and flipped it over in aggression. Garcello jolted in shock, as the action alone had surprised him and even scared him a bit.
"I gave you ONE. SIMPLE. JOB. To kill the guy, and get him out of my daughter’s life!!" He roared. He then walked back towards Garcello. "You are pitiful, just like the rest of the other idiots that I hired that failed to take out that damn brat."
He then looked into Garcello’s eyes, er, well he tried to, because of the hat he had on in the way.
"You deserve the most painful and foulest punishment beyond what I’ve given to my previous failures," he said.
Garcello then shut his eyes as he looked down. He was ready to embrace the pain. The never ending torture. He would rather sacrifice himself than let Mr. Dearest get his hands on Boyfriend. He’d protect that little man, with everything he had left in him. He’d swear it.
But, as soon as he felt Mr. Dearest hover over him, he felt his presence tower over his body, but after a moment, he felt him…suddenly pull away?
'Huh?' Garcello looked up at the demon in confusion, wondering what was the reason or what he was doing. Was this a tactic that he was pulling so that he could go in for the kill and erase his existence from this world?
Daddy Dearest then said, "…You know what? No. Killing you is just WAY too easy." He then looked away from Garcello. "In order to understand how severe the punishment will be, you will have to wait and see until it comes to you," he then chuckled evilly, causing Garcello to flinch from the intimidation.
"You may leave. Go back to wherever you came from."
"Wait…what? I can leave?" He said, shocked. He couldn’t help but ask that question.
"Yes. Do not worry about where your current location is, the punishment that I’m planning for you will find it’s way to you," he said with an evil smile.
Garcello couldn’t help but flinch, but once he heard that he was able to leave, he took the chances at once and sprinted off back to the alleyway.
Once Garcello was back at the place he called home, he couldn’t help but wonder in his mind what the exact punishment would be. He was scared that one day Daddy Dearest would come out of nowhere and attack him at his weakest or when his guard was down the most, and strike.
Becoming overwhelmed with all of the thoughts and worries of what kind of special torture that Daddy Dearest would plan out for him, Garcello then pulled out a pack of cigarettes and put on as he put it between his lips and began to smoke. He knew it wasn’t good to even be smoking in the first place, but he couldn’t stop. It was a severe addiction that he had towards it, no thanks to one of Mr. Dearest’s henchmen getting him hooked onto cigarettes in the first place.
But it helped him calm his nerves, and without it, it made him frustrated and stressed out. Before, he used to be sad and lonely all of the time, not to mention irritated and frustrated on end with himself and how he was living. It was miserable for him. But when he was introduced to smoking, it made him feel…good. Like, he felt a feeling of relief and happiness as he found a way to vent out his emotions, and no sooner than he started doing it, he found himself doing it consistently every day. It was just something that became more than a habit. It was now a routine.
He knew that in the back of his mind, he couldn’t keep doing this forever, he knew he could die if he kept it up. But given the situation that Mr. Dearest would probably end up doing that part of the deed himself a lot sooner, he somewhat figured he had nothing to lose at all. The only thing he’d lose is…Annie. Oh, Annie.
What would Annie do if he passed away? That wouldn’t be good for either of them. Annie would be absolutely devastated and depressed if he left her, and he knew it. He couldn’t bear to imagine her being so upset, but what was done was done, and Annie would have to keep going, because he wouldn’t want her to be unhappy, and because of the deal and punishment that Mr. Dearest would give him later on.
Garcello sighed as he looked at the cigarette he had in between his fingertips on his right hand, seeing the smoke coming from the end of it. 'I should probably tell Annie about what is going to happen..' he thought to himself. If he was going to be killed, then he should at least give Annie the warning so that they would have enough time to say goodbye to each other and spend their last moments together before it happened.
Right as Garcello was making the move for Annie’s place so that he could tell her about his current predicament and inevitable fate, that’s when his thought train was interrupted. He could hear crying, but..it sounded strangely high pitched. Almost like…a baby’s cry?
Garcello looked up to where he heard the noise with a perplexed yet worried look on his face as he quickly dropped the cigarette and stomped on it so that he could put it out before going to where the crying was located.
'What on earth is that?' He asked himself in his mind as he continued walking. When he finally made it to the source, he was met with a brown dark box. He could hear the constant baby’s crying.
'Who would abandon their child in the box?' Garcello thought. He then looked inside of the box as his eyes widened to what he was met with.
What was inside the box revealed to be a small infant baby, but this baby wasn’t anything like the babies that Garcello saw when he witnessed a mother pushing a stroller down the sidewalk while passing by him. The baby had small black demon horns on the top of its head, bright teal hair, and dark sandy skin like Garcello. They also had two small little black wings on their back, and a small black tail that had green tinted at the end of the tail, same with the wings and horns on its head.
Garcello’s continue to be in shock when he saw the baby. It looked kind of like him, it had his features, which was strange.
Was this the punishment that Mr. Dearest was laying out for him?
He then picked up the small infant as it continued to cry, which made Garcello more concerned and worried for it.
"Hey…ssh…it’s alright, it’s alright, everything is okay, little one…" he said a soothing gentle tone to attempt to calm the baby down.
As soon as Garcello began to talk to the infant, their crying instantly calmed down as they cooed and buried their face into his chest, in which Garcello couldn’t help chuckle as he pet the small one’s head. As Garcello held the child in his arms, being careful to support their head since they were still so so small and defenseless, he saw a note in the box. When he picked it up, it was shocking.
"She’s my daughter?!" He said out loud, holding the child who was almost asleep in his arms cooing along with reading the letter in his other hand.
