It’s Our Turn To Protect You

Summary:

It was another one of those nice day, where Armaros had to watch over Michael and his siblings as they hung out together.
He guarded them from farther away, to avoid intruding during their bonding time, and was happy just watching them getting along from afar.

Of course, it couldn't stay that way forever... Something had to happen, once again.

Work Text:

It was another peaceful night for Armaros, something he was really used to, still. He had to follow BB and his siblings while they were hanging out, to make sure nothing would happen to them, but decided to keep watch from farther away, as was often the case, as he didn’t really want to intrude on the siblings’ time, and was still a little awkward around them, as they weren’t really ready to forgive him for what he’d done, which was normal, and he accepted it, and still seemed fairly wary of him being around BB, despite how many times he’d saved him, or even the siblings themselves.

Everything was going perfectly. BB was looking very happy to be with his family, and his siblings seemed to be enjoying their time as much as he was.

Of course, it couldn’t last for too long.

This time, as Armaros was looking out for the siblings, he didn’t notice the danger that was roaming around him.

Out of nowhere, someone jumped onto him, soon joined by another one. Both of them pinned him to the ground violently, as another person rushed to them, this one holding a knife in his hand.

Armaros managed to push the two guys off of him, but he didn’t have the time to dodge the other guy, who managed to stab him in the back of his shoulder, much too close to his burned wing, sending an immense wave of pain through him.

Armaros cursed under his breath as he managed to fling the guy to the side before he could stab him again. He didn’t have much time to try and find his gun, however, as the other two took out their own knives, and attacked him as well.

Armaros tried his best to dodge the attacks, trying to fight them off with his fists, but still ended up injured from them, the injury in his back way too painful for him to have full control over his body as he tried to dodge.

It didn’t last long before Armaros found himself kneeling on the ground, the pain taking full control over his body and refusing him to get up.

Thankfully for him, as the aggressors were about to attack him again, BB and his siblings arrived from behind them and managed to stop them, pushing them away from the injured angel.

“Get away from him!” Michael yelled at the aggressors, wielding an iron pipe that he’s found on the ground.

“You’re going to regret attacking him!” OB warned angrily, holding a brick in his hand.

“Shit-What are you doing? Get away before you get hurt!” Armaros scold them, as the siblings stood around him, to protect him. “It’s much too dangerous!”

“We’re not going to let you get hurt while fighting alone against the three of them.” Khole argued, wielding another iron pipe.

“You sons of-” One of the men cursed angrily.

“Wait - You’re…” Michael started, surprised, but didn’t get to finish as the other guys started talking as well.

“If it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t have been arrested.” One of them said, approaching threateningly.

“And, if it wasn’t for this stupid angel, we would have gotten rid of you already!” The other one exclaimed, pointing his knife at BB.

“You’ll pay for ever getting in our ways!” The last one yelled as he ran up to BB, ready to strike with his knife.

Thankfully, this was a dumb move from him, as BB was already on his guards, and ready to counter his attack. Michael dodged perfectly the knife, and hit the guy with his iron pipe, knocking him hard to the ground.

“You bastard!” The two other exclaimed as they rushed to Michael as well.

This one didn’t even have the time to worry about it, as OB and Khole got in front of him to stop them, quickly managing to knock them to the ground as well, on top of the first one. They knocked them out before they could get back up.

“What do we do about them, now?” Khole asked as she made her way to Armaros.

“We can leave them here for the police to find.” OB offered, as he put his iron pipe on his should.

“The police is already on its way.” Keith, who’d been staying behind the whole time, making his call to the police, announced.

“We won’t be getting any reward if we go now…” Michael noted.

“Who are they anyway? They seemed to know both of you.” Older Bro asked, squinting at his brother. “And they seemed to say that they’d tried to kill you once before. What was that about?”

“Well…” Michael hesitated, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. “They’re all serial killer I captured and delivered to the police…” He explained. “I heard they’d managed to escape the prison a few weeks ago.”

“And what was that about trying to kill you once, and Armaros stopping them?” OB pushed, knowing that Michael was avoiding this question.

“Ah- Well… They did try to kill me a week ago…” Michael admitted quietly, looking away from his older brother. “Armaros managed to make them flee, though.”

“You got hurt, didn’t you?” OB knew that Michael wasn’t saying it all.

Michael didn’t reply to that, looking away awkwardly, hoping that his brother would let go of the subject for some reason.

“Are you okay?” Khole asked to Armaros as she knelt by his side, looking at his injuries. “We should call an ambulance.”

“No. I- I’m fine.” Armaros quickly said, despite the pain that was still refusing to leave his shoulder. “No need to call them.”

“But, you’re bleeding badly.” Khole argued. “If we don’t-”

“I’ll be fine.” Armaros cut her. “I might be a fallen angel, but my body still is the one of an angel. Those wounds aren’t as bad as they seem for me.”

“You still seem in pretty big pain.” Keith pointed out, approaching from behind his sister. “Doesn’t seem like it’s ‘nothing bad’ to me.”

“It is, nothing.” Armaros huffed. “It’s just where they hit that’s a bad spot…” He mumbled, more to himself that for them to hear.

“Oh? Because of your wing?” Khole asked, looking closer as his back.

“A wound on an older injury.” Armaros admitted painfully. “It’ll be fine, though.”

“No, it won’t.” Michael chimed in from behind them. “Look at yourself, man, you’re clearly in pain.”

“Why should you care?” Armaros snapped, before starting to cough up some blood.

“I’m calling an ambulance…” Keith announced to his siblings.

“You saved our ass many times already, come on, you can let us return the favor.” OB pointed out.

“Yeah, and, how are you planning on keeping watch over me if you’re all hurt like that?” Michael argued, knowing that the angel was very strict on the mission that was given to him. “Come on, man, you gotta let us help you, for once.”

“Urg, fine. And what do you plan on telling to those people, about me being an angel?” Armaros pointed out painfully, still trying to ride out the pain.

“They’ve seen demons and other weird creatures before, I don’t think they’ll question much.” Michael huffed.

“Michael’s right. It’s not like it’ll be their first time seeing a supernatural being.” Khole agreed, trying to give a reassuring smile to the angel.

“Tch.” Armaros wasn’t happy with it, but he couldn’t really argue against them, and was in way too much pain to really have it in him to protest anymore.

With that, they all waited for the police, and the ambulance, to arrive. Thankfully, the police arrived soon after that, taking in the criminals, and praising the siblings for their work, asking them to come around the police station to get their rewards. They only asked them if they’d called an ambulance already, as they saw Armaros’ state, before they left them once they were sure that they had already done it.

After that, the ambulance arrived, ready to take in the angel. They didn’t ask anything about him, just doing their job, examining him, and trying to take care of the wounds as best as they could before taking him to the hospital.

Armaros tried his best to stay cooperative, despite how much he hated people seeing his injuries, even more when they had to check his back. He could hear them all gasp at the sight of his burnt back, probably bleeding again, as well as the wound.

After they treated him, and after he explained to them that they couldn’t heal the burn, and to not worry about it, he tried to get away from this place. Of course, the doctors warned him against it, as he was still hurt, but Armaros refused to stay there.

It seemed like neither the doctors, nor the angel, were about to give up. But, thankfully, Michael intervened, offering to watch over, to make sure he wouldn’t hurt himself more. It seemed like the doctors were happy with that, although they hesitated a little, and finally agreed to let them go home, as long as the angel stayed with them.

Armaros wasn’t really happy about it, but he went with it, following the siblings back to their house, where they made sure that he rested.

He wouldn’t admit it to them, but Armaros was grateful for the help they’d given him, this time. Even if he didn’t like them fussing over him, mostly BB, he couldn’t deny that he was glad to be able to see them all spending time together while he was resting.
He was happy to see Michael looking so relaxed and happy.
