Work Header

Oh, no baby!

Summary:

Izuku stood on a rooftop next to the agency, he couldn’t get Katsuki out of his mind. It’s been three months since they found out on the news that they were expecting a third but... he wasn’t the one pregnant. Folding his arms over his chest, he let out a heavy sigh. Don’t get him wrong, he was excited and happy for another baby. That didn’t mean he wasn’t jealous.

“Are you ever going to talk to him?”

Glancing behind him, Shinso stood a few feet away. “No idea what you’re talking about Toshi.” He turned back to the sunset over the city. His city.

Work Text:

“Congratulations, you’re pregnant.”

Katsuki’s jaw dropped, if it was long enough it would have dropped to the fucking floor. Pregnant? HIM!? He whipped around to his husband. “What the fuck?!”

Izuku fucking Midoriya had a hand covering his mouth as he tried to hide his laughter. “K-Kacha--” He burst into laughter. “I-I’m sorry!” He quickly turned his back to him holding his stomach. “S-s-she mess—HAH! KACHAN!”

“It’s not fucking funny!” The blonde growled. “I don’t get why you’re laughing fucker!”

His husband took a few deep breaths and turned to face him. “I’m sorry, baby. But... I mean you did want a third.” Hugo is barely two and Hana is seven. Yes, they wanted more but they already decided Izuku would carry their final child. Shrugging his shoulders, he walked up and placed his scarred hand on Katsuki’s stomach. “You’ll be amazing like always.”

The blonde slapped his hand away then turned to the doctor. “Fix this. Give the baby to him! He’s carried the last two!” Fuck! He felt like crying.

Dr. Shuzenji smiled, “It doesn’t work like that Bakugo. You’re about three months along.” She pointed to the picture on the screen from earlier. “Now, you’ll be a different case from your husband.” Izuku’s hand tightened on his shoulder.

“How so?” His husband asked, seriously.

The woman sighed softly as she flipped open the chart. “Due to your quirk, you’ll experience more side effects.” Katsuki stared at her as she continued, “Headache, lightheadedness, low blood pressure, fast or irregular heartbeat, chest pain and the normal effects of pregnancy.”

Izuku licked his lips lightly, “M-maybe... Kachan’s right. I should take the baby.” The blonde could tell by the tone of his voice that Izuku was struggling to not panic. “Right?”

“Izuku, Bakugo will be fine! No need to stress for the little things.” Little things? Katsuki frowned at the doctor. But then the bomb dropped. “But you’ll have to be put on desk duty for your whole pregnancy.”

Desk. Duty.

FUCKING DESK DUTY?!

He didn’t even have a way with the commission like fucking Izuku did. To be honest, the commission hates him with the passion of a thousand burning suns.

Then Katsuki did something he never thought he’d do. He burst into tears. “F-fuck!” He couldn’t control the sob from leaving his lips, he quickly turned to his husband and buried his face into the warm firm chest.

Izuku’s arms wrapped around him tightly, fingers drawing circles on his back. “Are you sure? I mean, I worked until like six months. He’s only three and not even showing!” The scared hand ran through the blonde spikes as he spoke.

“I’m sorry but for his health and the baby’s, that’s the way it’s going to have to be.” Dr. Shuzenji frowned. “And I want him here once a week.” She left the room and his sobs grew louder. He was a fucking cry baby! He was fucking crying into Izuku’s chest over work!

“Kachan, you need to calm down and we can go home.” Izuku said lightly. “This is going to be a long six months.”

And wasn’t that the truth?

His city.

Shinso’s footsteps were silent as he walked up next to him. “Izu, I’ve known you for years now. We do fucking joint birthdays for our kids because for some dumb reason they inseparable.” A hand grasped his shoulder, giving it a firm squeeze. “Talk to him.”

Izuku bit the inside of his cheek before answering, “Toshi, there’s nothing to say. It won’t fix anything and it’s stupid for me to be jealous.”

“I heard he’s worse than you were.” The purple haired hero replied smugly.

Izuku snorted, “I don’t know about that.” A ding from his pocket stopped his train of thought. Pulling his phone from his pocket, he opened the text.

Kachan: Dinner’s ready. Where the fuck are you?

He stared at the message for a few minutes then glanced at Shinso.

Zuku: Working late. Be home for breakfast! Love you and give the littles kisses for me!

Pocketing his phone, he turned to his friend. “Want to run this patrol with me?” They went off.

Katsuki stared down at his phone. “Working... late.” He repeated the words out loud. Working late. Why the fuck was he working late?! He has a family! He had two kids and a six month pregnant husband and he’s choosing to work late?! The sudden urge to cry washed over him, the stinging in his eyes forced them to close as he held back his tears.

Does... does Izuku not love him? Was he that ugly and gross looking? Katsuki slowly opened his eyes to stare down at his protruding belly. God, he was pregnant and huge. Hugo’s giggle pulled him away from his thoughts and sadness. He could never hold back the happiness he felt when his little man giggle.

Never did he think that he’d have such a fucking amazing family.

He fed the two kids dinner and got them ready for bed, he was exhausted. Making a baby and carrying it was tough and he hated being stuck at home, not able to protect and help his partner. After tucking Hugo into bed, he walked out to the living room to pick up the house and did the dishes. He just wanted Izuku to come home.

Katsuki gripped the counter staring down at the soapy water. What was going on? Izuku was late more and more lately. The blonde wasn’t stupid, him being the one pregnant was hard for his husband but he didn’t think it bothered him that much.

That night Katsuki fell asleep on the couch trying his best to wait up for his husband to come home so they could talk.

“Papa?” Katsuki ran a hand down his face as Hana shook his shoulder lightly. “Where’s dad?” The seven year old was smarter than anyone gave her credit for. She always noticed the tiniest things about everyone... especially when Izuku and him were fighting.

“He had to work late.” He yawned and stretched his arms over his head. “Why?”

Hana puffed out her cheeks, “Because! He’s always working late and you do everything! He’s never here and you are stressed!” The familiar green eyes narrowed at him.

The explosive hero sighed. “Baby girl, he has to be a hero. He’s doing a lot and we already talked about it.” Didn’t mean he liked it either.

“Still!” Oh, yeah. Hana, when pissed was a stubborn shit just like he was.

At the very wrong moment, Izuku opened the door and walked into the house. And Hana lost it. Before the blonde could roll to his feet, the smell of smoke wafted through the room.

“How could you!” Hana screamed at her father, the strength hero jumped slightly at the outburst. “Papa’s been working his as—butt off and you’re never home! NEVER!” Katsuki finally got to his feet, which just made him out of breath. Damn it. He rounded the couch and saw his husband gaping at his daughter.

“H-Hana! I was at work!”

Hands on her hips, the blonde girl growled. Growled. At. Izuku. Katsuki could have sworn he saw first escaping her lips. “SO?!”

Izuku frowned as he looked at husband then went back to his daughter. “Hana. I don’t know what’s going on but I have to work, that’s what grownups do.”

“You were probably out fucking someone!!” She glared at Izuku, smoking spilling from her lips. Katsuki instantly paled. Fuck. Fucking fuck.

Those words, he said two nights ago to Kirishima on the phone. He was emotionally recked and let the hormones take over. He swore Hana was asleep but he was wrong. Horribly wrong.

He’s never seen green eyes so big in his life, full of hurt and confusion. “Hana... I-I don’t know where you heard that but no... I was working.” The strong hero’s voice was thick as he held back his tears. “Princess, let’s get you ready for school and I’ll take you today.”

The girl nodded quickly and grabbed his hand. She was very forgiving and she loved it when Izuku took her to school, so she was happy, instantly. “Okay, daddy!” She started to pull him into her bedroom. Katsuki could tell he was bone ass tired but Izuku didn’t have limits. Or didn’t know them.

“Izuku-”

Izuku shook his curls making him stop. “Not now, Katsuki.” Oh... he was in deep shit. Like six feet under deep shit. There was only two times Izuku ever use Katsuki, one was in the bedroom when he was fucking him into the mattress or when he was upset. Izuku didn’t get pissed really, it was more hurt or sadness.

The one time he called Kirishima to vent out his worries... his daughter throws him not under the bus but into it. Going 200 mph. Already dead before impact.

Katsuki went about making breakfast but Izuku got the kids ready for school and daycare then left without a word. “I fucked up...” He grumbled. He fought the urge to cry as he walked to the couch and sat down. Elbows propped on his knees; he held his head. It was now the waiting game.

Not too long later, the front door opened then slammed shut. Katsuki didn’t look up when his husband walked into the room and paced in front of the TV. He was scared. Jeez, he’s watched Izuku fight All for One, he knew exactly what his husband was capable of.

“You...” Izuku stopped and he could see him shake his head. He knew that the greenette struggled with words as much as he did but this was new, there was no mumbling or rambling, no eye contact. Just him pacing the room with his jaw clenched tightly.

“Zuku...” Slowly he lifted his head but the phone rang stopping his words.

Izuku pulled it out of his pocket and groaned looking at it. “Hello?” He put it to his ear. “I know, I’m sorry something came up and I lost track of time!” He apologized. Katsuki couldn’t hear the voice on the other end but Izuku glanced at him every so often. “Fine.” He hung up and faced the blonde for the first time. “I have to go but I’m supposed to bring you.”

Short, cut and to the point.

The explosive hero nodded not trusting his voice, standing up he walked to the door and slipped on his shoes, beanie and sunglasses. Everyone knew he was pregnant but he didn’t want any attention on him at the time.

Izuku led the way, once they were out in public, he laced his fingers with the blonde. Katsuki could tell he didn’t want to but to be safe from the press, he did it anyways. He was curious and worried about where they were going. His husband spent didn’t do a lot alone expect missions if they didn’t need the blonde to go and if it was a friend thing he normally went since their friends were friends' themselves.

They walked into a small home that looked to be turned into a doctor’s office. The door chimed letting the front desk woman know that someone walked in.

“Mr. Midoriya!” She perked up. “How’s my favorite hero doing?”

Izuku forced a smile. “It’s been a day. I’m so sorry I'm late.” He dragged the blonde to the desk and he signed his name on the clipboard by his printed name.

The woman slapped her hand on her desk. “Better late than never! She did book you for two hours.” She peeked at him then back at Izuku. “Good luck, hon.”

“Thanks Rachel.”

Izuku was once again pulling him down a hallway and through a set of double doors. Inside was a good-sized room with two couches and a few chairs. A woman sat in one with a small table next to her, her hair was cut short and curly that reminded him of Pinky and she wore a bright yellow sundress. She looked up with a calm smile on her lips.

The strength hero dropped his hands like it burned him and went over to the window. The woman raised an eyebrow at him then turned to Katsuki. “Good morning, Mr. Bakugo, please have a seat.” She gestured to the chair across from her.

“And who are you?” Katsuki narrowed his eyes.

“I’m Dr. Takashi but you can call me Ichika. I’m your husband’s therapist.” A loud hiss came from the corner of the room by the window. “Izuku.” She warned and turned back to Katsuki. “I’ve been trying to get you here for months but stubborn boy over there still doesn’t believe you needed to know.”

“That only reason I brought him was because you threatened me!”

Ichika rolled her blue eyes. “Izuku, why don’t you come over and tell me what’s got you so angry.”

“I’m. Not. Angry.”

Katsuki blinked at the anger in his husband’s voice. He was pissed but it was a pissed that he rarely sees. He absently rubbed his belly and he noticed the woman looked down at his hand then smirk.

“Oh! I almost forgot! Congratulations on the baby!” Ichika looked over at Izuku, watching. “It must wonderful to be able to bring life into the world, don’t' you think, Mr. Bakugo? The world of quirks, it’s such an amazing thing.”

The sound of wood snapping stopped the words from leaving his mouth. Katsuki turned around to see his husband gripping the molding of the window and it turning to dust in his hands. “Izuku! What the fuck?!”

“Oh, ignore him. Let’s talk, Katsuki? Can I call you Katsuki?” He nodded, completely confused. She must have noticed because she laughed lightly. “It’s okay. He pays me well and hires someone to come fix it.” Well. Shit. This woman was great then. “Do you have questions for me?”

He had tons but the only one that came to mind was “How long?” It hurt that he didn’t know that his husband went to therapy. It made him want to cry. Stupid fucking hormones!

“He’s been coming for about a year. Normally twice a month but it’s now... about three times a week.” What. The. Fuck. Twice a month to three times a week?! “Izuku? Care to explain why?”

Izuku growled. “No. Why the fuck would I want to do that?! He’s not supposed to be here! This is my time! You said I didn’t have to share!” Katsuki was worried, his husband never really yelled, not like that. Izuku walked over to the drawer and full of metal balls, his quirk flared over his skin and he smashed the ball into pieces.

“Izuku, why don’t we start at the beginning, yes?” She smiled warmly and it made Katsuki instantly relax.

“Don’t use your fucking quirk on me!” Izuku spat.

Ichika sighed lightly leaning back in her chair. “I’m not here to force you but something happened today. You’ve never been late and you normally don’t act like this. Angry, sure but this is rage. I’m not here to judge you and I’m feel like I can speak for your husband that he won’t either.”

“No, he just thinks I’m out fucking someone!” Izuku threw one of the balls at the wall, where it was now stuck. Small bits of plaster crumbled to the floor.

“Okay. We’re going to play a game.” She stood up and held out her hands to both of them. Katsuki wanted to grumble but he stood up like a good boy and took her hand. Izuku stared at the woman then scowled, he stood up taking her hand. “I want you to stare into each other eyes and whoever pulls away from my hand first has to talk first. And Izuku, you will be coming back tomorrow.”

Katsuki looked over at the green eyes and he could see different emotions flickering over his eyes. Hurt. Sadness. Guilt. Worry. And finally rage. It lasted two minutes before Izuku pulled away, he walked over to the couch and sat down, his knee bounced as if he was trying to force himself to stay sitting.

He sat back down and so did the woman. “You are terrible at that game.” She laughed. “Okay, let’s start with why you’re so angry today.”

“You’re a cruel woman...”

“That I am but.” She circled the pen she was holding in the air around him. “Remember I’m only here to help you. So, why are you so angry today?”

Izuku twisted his hands together and bit down hard on his lip. This was his husband, this was the Izuku he knew. “I-I worked late... Denki called in sick and I felt responsible to cover him since it’s our agency. I told Kac—Katsuki that. I texted him that. I came home and Hana started to scream at me that I’m never home.” He looked away to the window. “It’s not like I want to be away.”

“I understand that you are also picking up Katsuki’s shifts, the ones you don’t do together.” Katsuki frowned. Why didn’t he give those to Kirishima or Denki?

Izuku let out a tired sigh, “I’m running away from my problems.”

“You’re off track. What happened today?”

“Hana used Katsuki’s words and said I was out fucking someone.” And the rage was back. “Because I have time! Because I’m out saving Japan a-and coming home to my family!” Izuku shot to his feet and began to pace. “I would never even think of doing that! BUT HE DID! HE DOUBTED MY TRUST AND FAITH IN OUR RELATIONSHIP!” He screamed, sending his fist through the wall.

The woman nodded slowly and wrote a few things down. “Now it’s Katsuki’s turn to talk.”

“No.” Izuku retorted.

“It’s not up to you.”

Katsuki had been to therapy many times. It helped him get his shit together and not explode most of the time. He still goes once a month to let it all out for an hour and he leaves feeling lighter. “I didn’t mean it when I said it... it was the hormones talking. I know you're not out there looking for a side bitch, Zu. I’m not that stupid...”

“Thank you, Katsuki. Now, Izuku, let's move on to why you work so much? Why this all started... because I don’t think your husband knows the real reason and I think you need to let it out.” Ichika smiled and gestured for him to sit back down.

Izuku looked over at him, his eyes filled with pure sadness. “I-I...” He swallowed dryly and looked over at Ichika who nodded her head.

“You are safe here and I will keep both of you safe.” She smiled. “I won’t let you leave to go fight about it at home.” She promised.

“I-I’m... heartbroken.”

Katsuki could see his world ending. Heartbroken? He didn’t love him anymore? “W-what?” He blurted.

“Izuku, please explain before you send him into early labor.” The woman patted the blonde’s hand instantly calming him with her quirk.

“Iwantedtodoit!” The greenette rushed out. “I wanted to be pregnant! I wanted to carry the baby! A-and it’s so selfish! I feel guilty for being mad because at the same time I don’t want to be mad at you! I love you and I’m happy but underneath I’m so mad and jealous! I hate it! So, I work! I work and work and fucking work! Because I can’t--couldn’t tell you! I didn’t want to put stress on you! So, I go out and punch a villain or two in the face a little too hard!”

“Alright, adding you to a four day a week schedule.” She muttered writing on her notepad.

“I love you, Kachan! So damn much but I’m pissed and I don’t know what to do! I can’t fix it and it makes me hate myself for being mad! And when I’m not working, I’m here! Spilling my guts and anger out to her!”

Katsuki blinked at his husband. “You... fucking moron.” The man stiffened. “You seriously have been torturing yourself because you're jealous.” He stated. “Damn it, Zuku!” He ran a hand down his face. “You are still a selfless bastard!”

“True! We are working on that!” She giggled and waved Izuku over, she touched his face and he collapsed onto the fluffy carpet. “Better?”

“Yes... thank you.” Izuku mumbled.

“Zuku, baby, I’m sorry I didn’t notice you were upset by it. I know you wanted to but we also talked about it and I was okay with it.”

“Wasn’t your fault. It messed up and I’m okay, I’m just sad...”

Ichika threw the tissue box at his head. “Which is normal, Izuku, you went through it twice and the plan was you carrying the third baby. You had that ripped away from you and it’s fine to be upset. What’s not fine is the way you cope. You are a very smart man.” She huffed. “Too smart sometimes but you are a hero, a father and a husband. He’s here to help you as much as you help him.”

“I-I don’t...”

“Yes, you do. Name them.”

Katsuki frowned watching his husband struggle with his words. “I-I um... I keep the h-house at 67 degrees at night... e-even if my joints hurt. I... make sure to have his favorite t-teas in the fridge. The peach ones. I add salts to his baths to help with his aches. I rub his feet.” Izuku closed his eyes. “I go every morning to his favorite coffee place and get his favorite drink to put in his mug at home. I lotion his belly when he’s passed out on the couch to avoid stretch marks.” Pink dusted his cheeks. “I-I don’t know!

Now, Katsuki feels like a damn idiot.

He didn’t notice his husband doing all those things for him and the fact he was broken about not being pregnant.

“Izuku Midoriya, you make me want to strangle you.” Katsuki wiped his eyes trying to stop the tears. “Damn it, you bastard! Your kid makes me want to cry all the fucking time.”

Izuku rolled over and crawled to him. “I’m sorry... for not saying anything and working all the time.” He laid his head on his lap.

Katsuki ran his fingers through the curls. “Babe, it’s okay. Just... talk to me or we can come here and have the lady help us talk.”

“I promise.” With that Izuku finally smiled.

*

It had been two months since that day. Izuku went home and talked to Hana the best he could and she, being the most understanding child, hugged him and kissed him on the cheek. He talked to Hugo and it just earned him a ‘dadda’ and a slobbery open mouth kiss on the cheek. Katsuki and he put away time to talk alone, they both went back and forth, taking turns speaking their minds about the baby.

Katsuki being pregnant made him very calm and a centered person. It was weird but nice at the same time. Izuku kept up his normal helpful things he did even though the blonde knew most of them. What Katsuki didn’t need to know was that he never got off during their bedroom time. Making husband feel good was his only concern.

“What the fuck?!”

Izuku raised his head from the blonde’s lap, he was currently letting the baby kick his cheek as he drew circles on his belly. “What babe?”

Katsuki sniffled and roughly wiped his eyes with his shirt. “You gave me your damn water works!” They were watching a romance movie and the couple finally got together and kissed. “Ugh! This is so fucking stupid!”

“But you’re so handsome!” He chuckled.

“Why did you do this to me?!” Katsuki started to sob. Oh, boy. Those hormones really got him, his due date was right around the corner and Katsuki was ready.

“Kachan... just two more weeks!” He smiled and pulled the man into his lap. He loved it when Katsuki clung to him. “Don’t cry, babe.”

“But they kissed and it was cute!!!” He wailed.

Izuku couldn’t stop the laugh from leaving his lips. “Kachan! I’m here and you can always kiss me!”

“Really?” The blonde lifted his head, eyes red and puff and tears staining his pale cheeks. “All the time?”

“All the time.”

Katsuki kissed him, fully, deeply and filled with love. Their lips molded together in sync; this was one of the blonde’s favorite things to do was make out. Not that Izuku minded one bit. He placed his hands under his husband’s ass lifting him up from the couch. “Let’s go to bed, okay?” Katsuki nodded quickly and kissed his neck leaving bruises behind.

Once his husband was pleased and snuggled into bed, he went about cleaning up the house. He still had to put the crib together and a dresser. It took hours to deep clean the house then he had to air it out from the smell of cleaner, it made Katsuki sick. By 6am, he had the dresser built and was in the process of the crib. “How the hell did Kachan do this?” He grumbled then picked up the screws. “How the fuck does this screw go here and then meet this one?”

He would rather fight All for One again than build this crib.

“Dadda!” Hugo threw his tiny body onto his stomach.

“Oof!” He chuckled ruffling his son’s hair. “Morning to you too, bud. Tell me, do you know how to do this? Because I don’t.” Scarlet eyes stared at him happily.

“Hungry! I hungry!”

Izuku groaned, laying his head on the ground. “Hugo! Daddy needs help!” He whined.

“Hungry! I want muffins!”

Fuck him for starting that. Muffins meant the café down the street and he saved those times for when he was actually home for breakfast. “Alright, alright! I hear you!” He laughed.

Hugo squealed when he stood up throwing him into the air. “Dadda fly!”

“Later, buddy. Papa’s sleeping and we have to get him coffee.” And him too. The morning breakfast run also meant they go in pajamas. Izuku put Hugo’s coat on, then his own, he slipped on the baby carrier to his back and carefully used black whip to place Hugo inside.

What Katsuki doesn’t know, won’t hurt him.

Izuku grinned as his son gripped his curls and laid his chin on his head. “Let’s go.” The walk was peaceful. He hated early mornings but also loved them, the crisp spring air filled his lungs and he was happy. Hero Café was never busy at his time, he walked inside and Hugo giggled at the bell dinging.

“Hello boys!” Dani waved her fingers at Hugo. “I got fresh muffins for you, Hugo!”

“Dadda! Muffins!” The kid bounced.

Izuku chuckled, “Can I get a few extra muffins? And make me a triple shot please?” He asked politely.

“Another all nighter?”

“N-no!” He flushed lightly looking away. “Okay maybe but it’s my day off anyways. I’ll take a nap later or something.”

Dani just laughed and quickly got his order for him. “Here you go, Deku. Enjoy Hugo!”

He gave his thanks and a big tip, he walked back to the apartment. “Hugo, do you think I can convince you to put the crib together?”

“No silly dadda!”

Izuku huffed, “Fine. I’ll do it.” Opening the door, he found Hana on the couch wrapped in a blanket with the TV on hero news. “Princess? What you watching?”

“Dad! It’s you!”

The fight from a few days ago appeared on the screen. “Hero Deku, the Symbol of Peace, the Number One hero and Japan’s Sweetheart is saving the day once again! A villain with a quirk that can turn anything he touches to slim has turned the foundation of this apartment building into slim! From others around it seems to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment complex!” The news reporter gasped. “There’s still someone inside!” It showed the building collapsing with him and the citizen still inside, Hana gasped then shouted.

“WOO!” He used black whip to make a surrounding shield over them and held the woman tightly. “Dad! That was so cool!”

“Don’t you think that was reckless? He has kids and Ground Zero, his husband is currently pregnant.” The woman sneered.

“So, he should have let the woman die?” The male reporter retorted.

“No! Of course, not but where was his backup!? If there were more heroes then maybe he wouldn’t have to risk his life! If I had a pregnant partner at home—” He clicked off the TV.

Izuku forced a smile. “I brought muffins and hot chocolate.” Hana and Hugo both squealed. He spared one last glance at the TV then went to the table. When everyone sat down, Katsuki appeared from the bedroom in one of Izuku’s larger hoodies and sweat pants.

“Papa! Muffins!” Katsuki yawned and nodded patting his head, he picked up the coffee and took a long drink.

“Papa’s not awake yet.” Hana giggled munching on her muffins.

Izuku smiled and rubbed his belly through the hoodie. “Morning to you, baby!” The kicking was getting harder lately. “Don’t worry, you’ll get muffins one day too.”

“No, it’s not healthy.” The blonde grumbled, stroking his curls. “My stomach hurts today...” He whimpered.

Don’t panic. Don’t.

“Where?!” He looked up at his husband.

Katsuki bit his lip and pointed to his lower stomach. The strength hero pulled out his phone and called Kirishima to come babysit then he called the doctor to let her know they were coming.

“You’re panicking.”

Izuku whirled around. “Y-you could be in labor!”

“At least I’m telling you, unlike someone we know...”

“Wow. Low blow, Kachan.” He deadpanned.

The front door opened twenty minutes later when he had the bag packed. “UNCLE KIRI IS HERE!” Kirishima grinned with his hands on his hips. “TO BABY SIT!”

“Kiri!” Hugo jumped up and down at his feet. “Up! Up! UP!”

“AUNTIE!” Hana screamed and hugged her tightly. “I got new notebooks! Come look!” She dragged Mina to her bedroom.

Izuku sighed, “Thanks, Eiji.” He put the bag on his shoulder. “I’ll text you if we don’t come home tonight.”

“Go have a baby! We got it!” Kirishima slapped the blonde on the back. “Good luck bro!”

Katsuki didn’t answer, he walked out the door with Izuku close behind. “It hurts, Zu.” He whines gripping his stomach. The hero picked him up and used his quirk to get to the hospital. Dr. Shuzenji was waiting for them at the front desk.

“I swear you two keep me on my toes!” Dr. Shuzenji smiled and opened the door to the room. Izuku helped Katsuki into a gown and onto the bed. After a quick exam, she nodded. “You are in labor but I’m worried about your heart, Bakugo, you haven’t been using your quirk very much and your body is taking a toll from the nitroglycerin overload.”

Izuku frowned. “B-but once the baby’s out... he’ll be okay right?”

“He’s high risk, Izuku. I can’t give him the counter drug with the baby inside him but it’s risky taking the baby out.” The doctor looked over the blonde. “He’s weak and from the pinched face, most likely has a headache. Which aren’t good signs.”

“Zuku... I’ll be fucking fine.” The words didn’t have the normal bite to them. They were weak and he didn’t even open his eyes.

Izuku kissed his lips lightly. “I love you. I love you so much. You will come out of this and you will help me raise these three beautiful children. Understand me? I-I can’t do it without you.” He kissed him again and again trying to force life into his husband. “I love you.”

“I... love you too, Zu.”

The doctor patted his shoulder as he watched Katsuki being wheeled to surgery. “I’ll do everything I can... but I have to ask. If it came down to saving one, which one are we saving.”

“B-both...” Fisting the collar of his shirt, tears streamed down his cheeks. “H-him. Save him. P-please?”

She nodded and ran down the hallway. Izuku stared at where Katsuki’s bed used to sit. Save him. Save him, please... save the baby. Save him. Save both.

How many hours had passed?

Was his husband okay?

Was his baby okay?

Gnawing on his lip, he sat in the waiting for the doctor. He didn’t call anyone, he sat and waited. His mind was going a mile per second on different outcomes. The talk he’d have to give to his kids, to their parents! To his friends! It all drove him to a severe panic attack.

Breathing ragged, lungs burning from the lack of oxygen. Izuku bit a hole through his lower lip from biting it so hard. The taste of copper filled his mouth as his nails bit into his bicep, small half moons bled into his shirt.

Katsuki was a fighter. He was strong willed and didn’t back down from a fight. But Izuku has never seen him so weak. So weak he couldn’t open his eyes before he left.

“Please... please... please...” He mumbled the same word over and over again.

Midoriya...

Izuku...

“Kid?”

Izuku blinked pulling in a shaky breath. Aizawa was crouched in front of him holding his hands. “Z-Zawa?” He slurred.

“The nurse called and I guess I’m your emergency contact.” Hospital. He was at the hospital. Katsuki was in labor.

“K-Kachan!!” He tried to stand but his former teacher pushed him back down.

Aizawa looked at him in the eyes. “Izuku, Problem Child... the nurse said it didn’t look good.”

The world crumbled around him.

Katsuki Bakugo, the love of his life, his best friend...

Izuku stared at the grey eyes. “N-no.” Clearing his throat. “No.” He spoke firmly. No. That wasn’t true. Katsuki was the strongest person he knew. He was the best! “Kachan!!” He tried to get up against but Aizawa just pulled him into a tight hug, he clawed at his back trying to escape. “No! NO! IT’S NOT TRUE! HE’S FINE! MY HUSBAND IS FINE!” He tried using his quirk but it was gone in a blink from the pro hero. “KATSUKI! KATSUUUKI!” He let out a heartbroken scream.

Footsteps surrounded him and people were yelling but he couldn’t hear them. He pushed at the hero holding him tightly and he could see one of the nurses holding something. “NO! NO NO NO NO NO! LET ME GO! I NEED HIM! I NEED HIM! HE’S FINE! WHERE IS HE?!”

“Zu!”

“Katsuki?!” His mind went blank, Shinso slowly walked up to him.

“Sleep.”

His world faded to black.

*

“Good morning, Bakugo.”

Katsuki winced at the harsh light but forced his eyes opened to look over and see the doctor. “The...baby?” He tried to wet his lips but his mouth was like sandpaper. The doctor noticed quickly and fed him a few ice chips.

“She’s in the NICU, her lungs need a little extra help to grow and I have a pro coming to help her along. She’s perfect and you... well, you had a bump road but you are fine, Bakugo.” Katsuki could tell there was something else by the doctor’s tone.

“Fucking spit it out.”

She laid her hands in her lap. “Izuku... I don’t know who told Mr. Aizawa because I didn’t give an update to anyone but.” She frowned. “Someone told him that you... weren’t going to make it.”

Oh, fucking God.

Katsuki instantly tried to sit up but was forced back down from the pain in his lower stomach. “Fuck! Where is he?! I have to tell him I’m fucking fine!”

Dr. Shuzenji pressed him back to the bed. “Listen, Bakugo—Katsuki, Aizawa is with him and so is his therapist. I believe Mindjack is helping but that smart cookie is breaking through his quirk.”

Crash!

“LET ME OUT!”

Katsuki stared at the door then slowly turned to her. “And why wouldn’t he seeing me or his daughter be smart? He’s breaking the damn place.”

“Because we need to be able to walk to him. If he sees you in a bed, he might not see you... he’ll see the dead you. We did find the nurse and she’s been fired and Aizawa is pressing charges against her.”

“Fucking good.” He grunted.

“I think you need to convince Izuku of a break.” He raised an eyebrow, questioning. “Just... make him be the stay at home dad for a while, yeah? He needs it. You both do but you’ve had nine months of the same layout and I can tell you’re itching to get back out there.”

That was all true. “First, I need my freak of a husband to not bring the hospital down on us. Heal me up doc. I got to get my fucking husband.”

Katsuki did have to wait a few hours for someone to come heal him. Once his wound was a light pink scar, he got out of bed and threw on the sweats from his bag. Dr. Shuzenji led him to the psych ward. The shouting and crashing and cries— no, sobs got louder. He stuffed his hands in the hoodie pocket and she held open the door to the hallway.

“He’s in the last room. Aizawa is in the door before his to keep his quirk off and Mindjack is trying to talk him down but... it’s Izuku.”

Katsuki grumbled a thanks and walked down the hallway. Jesus, he wasn’t fucking ready.

“KATSUKI!”

BANG

“KATSUKI!!”

The explosive hero pushed the door open and let off an explosion from his palm. “The fuck, nerd? What the fucking hell are you doing!?”

Izuku froze.

The sight of his husband was almost unbearable. Blood dripped from his nose and mouth, his shirt was ripped and he had scratches down his arms. Forest green curls were matted to his forehead and the emerald eyes were empty.

The nerd dropped to his knees staring at him. “K-Ka...” He shook his head. “N-no... it’s a trick again. M-my Katsuki died.” He whispered.

“Zuzu... I’m alive.” Walking across the padded room, he crouched down in front of the frightened man. “I can show you?” He didn’t wait for an answer. “I’m warm.” He pressed his palm to the spot over Izuku’s heart on his bare chest. He took Izuku’s scarred hand and did the same to his own chest. “I have a heartbeat.”

The emerald eyes brightened as if the clouds moved disappeared. “K-Katsuki?” The blonde instantly had an arm full of his husband. “T-they said!”

Katsuki held him just as tightly. “Yeah, the dumb bitch is going to get a fuck load of lawsuits on her ass. Lord almighty, Zuku!” He let his husband sob into his chest. “Baby, I’m right here. I’m okay and no more fucking kids! We are too much of a danger magnet, well it’s mostly you.” He laughed and winced when Izuku bit down on his nipple. “You fucker!”

“Meanie.” He nuzzled his face into the blonde’s armpit.

“The fuck is wrong with you?!” He didn’t have the heart to push him away. He knew Izuku was always obsessed with the way he smelled and if that calmed him down, then so be it.

“The baby?”

“She’s waiting on a special doc to help with her lungs then we can go home.” Katsuki flicked his forehead. “And I’m going to go to work tomorrow while you play wife, got it?”

Izuku pouted rubbing his forehead. “Why do I feel like I can’t argue about this. You almost died, Kachan! You need to stay home!”

“Nope, I’m fucking done. I have to get out, Zuku. And I fucking know you are so ready to have all three kids to your damn self.”

“Okay. Maybe.” He giggled lightly. “For one week.”

“Two.”

“One and a half.”

Katsuki smirked. “Three weeks and if you’re good I’ll reward you.” And yes, that meant sex, blow jobs and his favorite foods. “But I still want coffee every morning and salts in my baths.”

Izuku smiled brightly. “Deal!”

“Let’s go meet our baby.”

Katsuki helped him to his feet. Izuku swayed slightly, he pulled the shorter man on to his back then walked out the door. First thing after this was the nerd going down for a nap.

“Oh, good.” The blonde looked over at Aizawa. “I hope you’re okay with babysitting the nerd while I work the next few days.”

“I hate you.” Aizawa deadpanned.

“Yeah, yeah.” Katsuki carried Izuku to the NICU and their baby had her own room where they found the doctor helping her organs. “How’s she looking, doc?”

He smiled. “Perfect. She’s ready to go home.” He bowed and left the room.

The tiny baby was sound asleep, her green curls covered her head and she had two pale blonde pieces framing her face like bangs. “

“Haruka...” Izuku whispered into his ear. “Means forever and ever. Katsuki you are my forever and ever with the kids.”

Katsuki blinked back the tears stinging his eyes. “You fucking sap.”

Izuku was living his favorite dream. It’s been a week since they brought Haruka home and she fit in perfectly. Hugo was very protective of the new sister, he would drag his pillow and blanket to sleep in front of the crib and make sure she was safe. Hana was happy and loved her little sister but she was too busy with school, quirk training and... Kito.

Don’t get him started on those two.

Aizawa was done babysitting this week and would come if needed but also reminded the hero not to call because he would be napping. Izuku nuzzled the tiny baby’s cheek. “You are too cute!” She had green eyes with hints of red in them. “Oh! Look, Hugo! Papa’s on TV!”

“Ground Zero! We’re so happy to see you back in action after the long nine months of pregnancy. How does it feel?”

The wicked grin came to his husband’s lips. “Fucking great. I miss my kiddos and husband but I’m ready to smash every fucking villain that comes my way.”

“And when will The Wonder Duo be back together?”

“The fuck? We never left! We’re the best fucking team and will always be one. Forever and ever.”

Hugo squealed as Katsuki launched into the air and let off an even bigger explosion. Hana snuggled into his side and Izuku looked down at Haruka. “Forever and ever.”

And the person he had to thank was a little girl he saved eight years ago.

Notes:

I rushed it... I know. I'm sorry! It's been burning a hole in my computer and mind lol. I hope you enjoyed this series as it comes to it's final chapter.

Thanks loves!

EDIT: 07/01/23 - This fic is about Izuku overcoming his jealously and pain for no being able to carry the baby. Katsuki, yes, is pregnant and carry a baby with his own issues but this fic is more about Izuku. I hope that clear things up.
