Work Text:

Harry Potter, a fourteen-year-old wizard, wasn't happy. Ever since he started attending Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft Wizardry, he was always placed in harm's way for some odd reason. He was a Gryffindor, but after his name emerged from the Goblet of Fire, 95% of the student body started treating him like dirt (including most of his fellow Gryffindor housemates), believing that Harry was being an attention seeker. Harry could understand how the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students felt, since they hadn't been around him before, but the Hogwarts students should've known him better than that. Not even Professor Dumbledore lifted a finger to help Harry, under the guise that it was to help Harry prepare for his supposed destiny.

Harry may be famous for being The-Boy-Who-Lived, but that was a constant reminder that he didn't have his parents with him anymore. Ron Weasley, his so-called best mate, even called Harry a cheat and demanded to know how he got past the age line. Harry tried explaining that he didn't submit his name for the tournament, but Ron called him a liar. Hermione was among a handful of students who believed Harry, or so it seemed. Ever since Halloween, the night of the champion selection, Harry's friendship with Ron was declining, to the point where it was close to rupture. But the final straw came when he was put in a tug-of-war situation just minutes ago.

Ron rudely accused Hermione of fraternizing with the enemy, since she was asked by the Durmstrang champion, Viktor Krum, to be his date for the ball. Harry went with Parvati Patil, but their time wasn't all that great because Harry had trouble getting over the fact that Cho Chang, a fifth-year Ravenclaw student had already been asked by Cedric Diggory, the true Hogwarts champion, to go with him. Ron tried to force Harry into taking his side, but before he could even respond, Hermione just told him (and Ron) to head off to bed, and stormed out of the Great Hall, crying. After having gotten into that fight with Ron, Harry tried to find Hermione, but she wasn't anywhere to be found.

Upon returning to the Great Hall, Harry caught a glimpse of Ron's sister, Ginny, giving him an all-too-familiar look, annoying Harry. She was trying to make him jealous so he'd come after her because she's had a crush on Harry for who-knows-how-long, refusing to even acknowledge that Harry didn't even reciprocate the feelings she had for him. Not only that, but Harry didn't want to ruin Neville's night, since he was the one who asked Ginny to the ball, and Neville was another student who wholeheartedly believed that Harry never entered (unlike Ginny, who didn’t lift a finger to help Harry in his time of need like Ron). Neville was also unaware of what Ginny's plan was, and Harry didn't like it. He knew Ginny was only a fangirl (and even a spoiled brat), and Harry wanted real friends, ones who were more than willing to look past the lightning bolt scar he had on his forehead.

Harry was looking for an empty classroom, so he could rant without attracting unwanted attention. One would ask Harry why he just up and ditched his date, Parvati Patil (a fourth-year indian Gryffindor girl). But they actually respectfully parted ways eventually, since Parvati wanted to join her best friend, Lavender Brown (who was also a fourth-year Gryffindor girl; she had blue eyes and wavy light-brown hair), in dancing to the music by the wizarding rock band: The Weird Sisters. He managed to find one and barged in (unaware that it was occupied, until he saw a girl sitting on a chair). Harry's unexpected arrival caused the girl to jump up in surprise.

"Oh, s-sorryyyyy," said Harry sheepishly. "I d-didn't realize you w-w-were here!"

"It's okay, Harry!" said the girl.

Harry was able to get a better look at the girl. He somewhat remembered who she was, her name was Lisa Turpin, a Ravenclaw student in his year. Harry wondered what she was doing in the empty classroom, especially while in her dress; but he couldn't ask her, thinking it was none of his business. Lisa was also one of the students who believed that he didn't submit his name for the tournament (something which Harry was unaware of at the moment).

"I'll... I'll go... go ahead and... l-l-leave!" said Harry as he started turning around.

"No, Harry, don't leave," said Lisa. "Why don't we try s-starting up a nice conversation! I believe you to be innocent, and I wish to prove that right now if you’re alright with that."

Harry walked over to Lisa and sat down next to her. She had chest-length brunette hair in braids, and sapphire-blue eyes. Her dress was purple, same with the pair of stilettos she was wearing. Harry was shocked that her cheeks were all puffy, which indicated that she had been crying, which was more evident when he saw that her eyes were red.

"Are you alright?" asked Harry.

"Yeah, I'm okay," said Lisa, wiping excess tears away from her eyes. "I was asked to be Michael Corner's date, but he dumped me, just because my dress and stilettos are purple, and he hates the colour purple and yet he didn’t even tell me that until the moment we were supposed to leave Ravenclaw Tower and head to the Great Hall!"

"Oh," said Harry. "I don't see that as a reason to change his mind at the last second. He probably didn't want to go with you in the first place."

"Yeah, it seems to be," said Lisa. "If you don't mind me asking, was there a reason why you left the Yule Ball?"

"Ron," said Harry. "He falsely accused Hermione for fraternizing with the enemy just because she was Viktor's date and tried to coax me into taking his side, and he was being extremely rude about it."

"Not a surprise," said Lisa. "A couple days ago, I heard Hermione complaining about his behaviour, I was in the library at the time and Hermione was on the other side of the bookshelf I was looking through."

"Yeah, Ron tried asking Hermione to be his date for the ball, very badly," stated Harry. "He even came to the 'conclusion' that Hermione was a girl, causing her to snap at him. His behaviour just moments ago was the final straw, so I decided to sever ties with him, especially when he made Hermione cry. I yelled at Ron for it, making him leave, then I went to look for Hermione, but it was a futile attempt. I eventually gave up, especially after I remembered when she told me to head off to bed as if she was my mother."

"I don't see how he can be fine with that," said Lisa. "He just keeps allowing his jealousy to get in the way. Otherwise, he would've stayed by your side. Not many people like Granger because of her arrogance when it comes to academic scores. She’s also a hypocrite due to her complaints about people breaking rules, but she’s broken some since I’ve seen her smack people across the face if they call her out on it. At least once I’ve seen her whack your arm with one of her books, maybe twice."

"Yeah, she also told me and Ron that she hated secrets being kept from her. She was doing that herself by keeping the fact that she was Viktor’s date from me and Ron. Maybe Hermione also isn’t that good a friend either." said Harry. "To make it worse for me, Ron’s sister Ginny keeps giving this look that I know very well. She's trying to make me jealous, even though she's Neville's date. She won't pay attention to the fact that I don't have any feelings for her, and that I have no intentions to ruin Neville's night!"

"Typical fangirl behaviour," said Lisa. "It also implies that she is too delusional!"

"It does," agreed Harry. "She won't even bother trying to look past my scar! Either way, I can't ever date Ginny because she looks alot like the sister I might've had if my parents were still here. Plus, she appears to be a spoiled brat. It’s like it’s Ginny’s ultimate goal to marry her hero rather than me for just Harry."

"I'd rather get to know you as a person, Harry," said Lisa, smiling at him. "The legend and the person are two different people!"

"Thank you, that means alot to me," said Harry, then he held a hand out. "Would you like to dance with me at the ball?"

"Yes, Harry, I would love to dance with you," said Lisa. "This will, hopefully, chase the blues away!"

"And I'd like to help a pretty lady chase hers away!" said Harry, smiling at Lisa.

"Thank you very much, Harry," said Lisa, blushing. "And I'd sure like to help chase yours away, too! If it makes you feel better, we can stay here to dance. That way you won’t have to worry about fangirls of your fame coming up to us and trying to get in between us just so you’d be smitten with them."

Taken aback, Harry nodded his head in agreement with Lisa’s suggestion. Then she kissed his cheek as another way of saying thank you, making Harry blush. Then, they cleared out an area of the empty classroom before Lisa brought a phonograph. Harry knew that a certain red-haired girl would be furious to see him with another girl, but he didn't care. He was more interested in giving Lisa a wonderful night to remember. Lisa, in return, was more interested in giving Harry an amazing night, one that he'd never forget. As soon as Lisa turned the phonograph on and put on some classical music. Then she walked back over to Harry, grabbed one of his hands, and gently placed it on her waist. Harry felt his heart rate go up a little to feel his hand on Lisa’s waist. Lisa placed one of her hands on Harry’s waist before grasping his other hand with her free one.

“Just go with the flow, Harry,” Lisa told him in an encouraging voice. “Don’t look down at your feet to avoid stepping on my toes. Just have fun, that’s what tonights supposed to be about.”

Harry nodded his head in acknowledgement, and they began dancing away. Indeed, Harry felt more at ease when dancing with Lisa since she was giving him encouraging vibrations, especially since they weren’t in the Great Hall where it was all crowded with other students and school faculty. Harry and Lisa had been dancing for half an hour when they decided that they had enough. So they found chairs to sit in, wondering what else they could do before turning in for the night.

“I could use a good soak in a hot tub,” stated Lisa. “You could find something like that beneficial, Harry.”

“If only there’s something like that,” said Harry. “But I don’t recall coming across a room anywhere that has a hot tub of some sort.”

“The house elves working here at the school will have an idea,” Lisa informed Harry. “If you know any, they can give you some suggestions.”

Then, as though a light bulb went off in his head, Harry called out, “Dobby!”

“Did Harry Potter calls for Dobby?!” exclaimed the house, once he appeared.

“Yes,” Harry told Dobby. “Do you know of any rooms that has a hot tub or something like that?”

“There’s is a room on the sevenths floor called the Come and Go Room, or the Room of Requirement,” Dobby informed Harry. “You’s and your friend there has to thinks about their wants in front of the entrance, and one’s of you’s needs to walk past the entrance three times for a doors to appear. Dobby can take’s you and your friend there if you wish.”

Harry and Lisa nodded their heads to give Dobby permission, then Dobby instructed Harry and Lisa to grasp his hands. When that was done, Dobby apparated Harry and Lisa in front of what was revealed to be the entrance to the Come and Go Room. After Dobby did that, he returned to the school kitchens. Harry paced in front of the entrance thrice while thinking about the intention, then the door appeared. Harry opened the door and let Lisa walk in first because he was strictly adamant on the ladies first policy. Indeed, Dobby was telling the truth, there was a bathtub the size of a swimming pool.

“You change into your swimsuit first, Lisa,” said Harry. “The ladies first policy is for anything, not just entering another room or building first.”

Lisa walked into a nearby changing room. A minute or so later, Lisa emerged from the changing room in a black bikini bottom and a blue short-sleeve swim shirt. Then Harry walked in to change into his swimwear, consisting of a green sleeveless swim shirt and green swim shorts. After that, he left and joined Lisa by walking towards the hot tub. Harry got a brief glimpse of Lisa’s nice-looking legs, but he quickly looked back ahead so he wouldn’t be tempted and cause Lisa to view him as a creep. The blush on his face didn’t go unnoticed, which Lisa spotted with a smirk on her face.

“Like what you saw, Harry?!” Lisa asked him in an amused voice, maintaining the smirk on her face.

“Well, I don’t… don’t know!” Harry stammered, trying to focus on something else so the blush on his face would go away (but not having much success).

“Are you interested in checking out my legs?” Lisa replied, amusement still in her voice. “It looked like you were somehow doing that?”

“I wasn’t intending to change your view of me!” Harry exclaimed in a hasty voice.

“There’s a difference between being staring and getting glimpses. We are teenagers after all,” stated Lisa, keeping her voice soft. “Besides, it’s not easy trying to hide something from a Ravenclaw student.”

“Well, alright,” Harry began admitting, realizing that Lisa wasn’t going to be fooled easily. “I did briefly get a look at your legs. I quickly came to my senses by facing forward because I wasn’t trying to be creepy. It was also a way of reminding myself to go for personality and not looks.”

“You’re being very considerate, Harry!” Lisa replied, with admiration in her voice. Then she asked, “Did anyone teach you about the teenage years? Did anyone even teach you about what to look for in girls?”

“No,” stated Harry. “Not even Hermione taught me any of that, or at least she didn’t give me any pointers on understanding girls better. But I do have an understanding that personality should come first, since there are some girls who have good outer beauty but are monsters inside.”

“Then this would be the right time for you to start understanding girls better, Harry,” said Lisa. “Also an excellent moment for us to bond and be a first step for you to expand your circle of friends.”

“Alright,” said Harry. “Shall we walk down into the warm hot tub water?”

“Yes,” said Lisa, as another smirk began forming. “Maybe it’ll give you another chance to look at my legs again.”

“Are you sure about that?” asked Harry, trying to fight another blush.

“We are by ourselves, Harry,” stated Lisa in a matter-of-fact voice. “No need to be shy about this.”

“As long as you’re okay with it, Lisa.” said Harry. Then he asked, “Do you often wear swim shirts when you go to a beach or something?”

“Pretty much,” Lisa confirmed. “I’ve always been self-conscious about my bare tummy being exposed when my family and I go to a beach, waterpark, or even a public swimming pool. I don’t know why, but I’m alright with my legs being exposed.”

“I have my reasons for wearing a swim shirt myself,” Harry admitted. “But the reasons are horrifying and I don’t feel ready to reveal them.”

“Then it seems that giving you another chance to see my legs will help distract you from your troubles,” Lisa told Harry, with a giggle. “You need to have some genuinely good moments, and this moment will be a good start. Are you okay with it?”

His heartbeat going up some, Harry nodded his head stiffly because of his teenage mind going into overdrive. Then Lisa slowly stepped into the warm water, with Harry quickly closing his eyes because he didn’t want Lisa to catch him checking her arse out. The Ravenclaw girl before him wasn’t going to let him go about without any genuinely good moments, because she turned around to find Harry with his eyes closed.

“Harry, are you going to open your eyes?” asked Lisa.

“If you’re already in the water,” Harry replied, unsure if to open them. “I’m trying my best to avoid any temptations.”

“Please open your eyes, Harry,” Lisa persuaded in a soft voice. “I’m trying to help you in experiencing some teenage moments.”

Harry slowly opened his eyes and looked at Lisa’s backside, with Lisa looking behind her with a smile. The surface of the water was just above her knees. Lisa even wiggled her curvaceous bottom a little, resulting in Harry breathing heavily as his heart rate increased from his teenage mind going into overdrive again. Lisa giggled when she saw how priceless Harry’s reaction was. Lisa wiggled her arse again just to see Harry’s reaction again, then she walked further down the steps. She was finally waist-deep in the water, then she gestured for Harry to join her in an encouraging manner.

‘Alright, here goes!’ thought Harry, taking a deep breath.

He stepped into the water and began walking down into the water. As soon as he was as far in the water as Lisa, she praised him for slowly coming out of his shell (she even clapped her hands some and gave him another kiss on the cheek to show him how proud she was of him). Harry blushed once more when he felt Lisa’s lips on his cheek. Lisa dunked under the water for a few seconds and emerged, wiping excess water away from her face (with Harry quickly following her lead). After asking and receiving permission, Lisa politely pulled his glasses off and set them off to the side of the swimming-pool-sized bathtub.

“Harry, has anyone ever told you that you have a beautiful pair of emerald-green eyes?” Lisa asked, a blush forming on her face.

“Not really,” Harry replied in an honest voice. “Just that I look like my father, but having the same eye colour as my mother. That gets old after a while, and nobody seems willing to tell me more about my parents and instead go with ‘you look like your father, but you have your mother’s eyes.’ Dumbledore won’t tell me, under the guise of it being unsafe. McGonagall also refuses to tell me more about my parents the few times I asked, claiming that it wasn’t any of my business.”

“Well, that’s not very fair,” stated Lisa. “Every child has a right to know about their parents. But let’s not worry about that right now. Let’s focus on having fun in the hot tub.”

The Ravenclaw girl before Harry gently led Harry over to a seat under the water. Then Lisa walked up a couple steps just so Harry could see her legs dripping with water for about ten seconds.

‘Wow!’ thought Harry in admiration. ‘I never thought I’d interact with another Ravenclaw student who’s all fun-loving, since Cho is also a Ravenclaw student who enjoys having fun. I wonder if Lisa and I might be a good match. She sure knows how to help distract friends and maybe even her family from their troubles.’

Lisa sat down next to Harry and grasped one of his hands under the water before giving it a comforting squeeze. Harry felt his heartbeat go up some again when he felt Lisa grabbing a hold of one of his hands. It even further inspired him to befriend other students, whether from outside his house or even the foreign students, since it would do him some good to find friends who cared about him for who he was. Harry also realized that Neville was a better candidate for being his best mate, since the timid brown-haired Gryffindor wholeheartedly believed Harry to be innocent (unlike Ron). Harry planned to chat with Neville when he had the chance. Right now, he and Lisa were lost in their own world.

The End!
