Work Text:
Marc wakes up, looking around Steve’s flat, a little confused, he scanned the room and saw how much of a mess everything was in Steve’s place, being in the Marine’s, Marc liked everything to have a place and be neat and organized, but he’ll have to make due for now.
“Steven, you there?” Marc asked as he ran his hands over his face.
Steven hummed softly in the back of Marc’s head, seems like he too was slowly waking up as well, Marc climbed out of bed and walked through the sand, making a mental note to clean it up because Steven wouldn’t need it anymore, Marc was too distracted that he didn’t feel the ankle restraint and fell flat on his face.
“What the fuck?” Marc grumbled on the floor, rolling over onto his back and seeing the ankle restraint, “Ok Steven there’s gonna be some major changes to the apartment if Layla is gonna move in.”
“Layla’s moving in?” Steven asked all excitedly, “did you guys work everything out?”
Marc chuckled softly, “We’re going to try and pick up from where we left off, since she now knows about our condition, I think we should give it a try again.”
Steven cheered to himself, “I’m glad, I really like Layla.”
Marc sighed, “well, I doubt we need the ankle restraint or the sand anymore, also let’s get some bookshelves for all these damn books.”
“Oy, I know where all my books are, there is a system to it.”
Marc looks around the apartment “A system? It’s a mess…”
“You don’t touch my books. I know where everything is.” Steven tried to sound all tough, but failed
“Alright, alright, I won’t touch your books.” Marc chuckles softly to himself, “But we’re cleaning up the sand and getting rid of the ankle restraint, I know you don’t like change all that much, but it’ll be good.”
Marc went over to the fish tank and and poured some fish food out for the two fish watching Steven smiling back at him.
“It’ll be fine, this change will be good, yeah?”
Marc nodded, “Yeah it’ll be a good change, now I’m making breakfast, what do you want?”
“Tofu veggie scramble.” Steven proudly said as he fronted getting everything ready.
“I don’t know how you can eat that stuff” Marc huffed a little bit, “seems nasty.”
“Oi, let’s try and compromise, how about we eat vegan every other day, will that work?”
Marc just sighed, “Alright, fine, works for me I guess.”
Steven was in the middle of frying up tofu when there was a knock on the door, he smiled quickly turning off the stove and rushing to open the door.
Layla was standing there with a big smile on her face, she knew it was Steven who was fronting because of the big smile on his face.
“Layla, it’s so good to see you!” Steven grabbed his hand and pulled her in for a hug.
“Steven, we saw each other a few days ago when we got back from Cairo.”
“I know, I just missed you is all,” Steven smiled as Layla walked in, “Would you like some breakfast?”
Layla turned around and smiled, “Sure, whatcha making, it smells good.”
“Tofu veggie scramble, Marc says it’s gross, he’ll make an appearance after breakfast.” Steven returned to the stove and went back to cooking.
After breakfast, as promised Marc got to front, he started cleaning up the sand around the bed as well as taking the ankle restraint off the support beam and just tossing it in the closet.
Layla tried to move some of Steve’s books, but Marc told her if she does that Steven would have a meltdown due to him having a whole system within the mess of books.
“Steven, honey, why don’t we get some bookshelves, so there will be more space in the loft.” Layla smiled at Marc, searching his face to see if Steven would front.
“He said he doesn’t want bookshelves, that everything has a-“
“That sounds good, we could put all my books…there.” Steven finally spoke up and made Marc point to a wall near the windows.
“Oh, now you speak up?” Marc asked looking at the reflection in the fish tank.
Steven just shrugged, “She called me honey.”
“What did he say?” Layla smiled softy
“He liked it when you called him honey.” Marc looked back from the fish tank to Layla, and then back again “Steven she’s my wife.”
Layla cupped Marc’s face so he would look at her, “He’s apart of you, he has the same amount of right to be with me as you do. You guys are a package deal, and you two share the same body, so respect Steven.”
She leaned up and kissed Marc softy on the lips, his arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her closer, they kissed softy as his hands roamed over her body.
“Thank’s love.” Steven smiled softly at Layla, “I think Marc needed to hear that from you.”
“Steven did you front just so you could kiss me again?” Layla asked looking into his softy friendly eyes.
“Is that alright, Layla?” Steven asked worried, hoping Marc won’t try and front again.
“I guess Marc will just have to get use to it, he has a problem with sharing, but I’m sure between us we can make it work.” Layla smiled again as she went in for another kiss.
