Chapter 1: From stone to flesh

Chapter Text

There laid Ash in the middle of the battlefield turned to stone, everyone was stunned. They all witnessed a kind and selfless boy, who had only wanted the fighting to end so the Pokemon wouldn't get hurt, die right before their eyes.

The Pokemon that were fighting felt so unbelievably guilty. They saw the boy's death their doing, for not listening and fighting. With nothing to show for it but a stone statue. All the Pokemon's eyes welded up with tears, with regret for their actions in their minds and in their heart.

But none of the Pokemon could touch the level of a few Pokemon. Pikachu, Mewtwo, Mew, and Charizard each were more affected by the boy's death.

Before Charizard's eyes were memories of Ash, the one who saved him from death and his abusive trainer. And what had he done to repay that kindness? By being disloyal, disobedient, and a horrible Pokemon. If he could have another chance he would change his ways. He would become the Pokemon that he should have been since he first evolved, Charizard vowed. For Ash had proven so many times that he was a worthy trainer, but Charizard questioned whether he was worthy of a trainer like Ash. Charizard bowed his head in shame letting his tears fall.

Mewtwo could not describe what he was feeling, was it sadness, anger or maybe even guilt? The more he focused on trying to identify the emotions the clearer they became. Mewtwo felt sad and guilty for the death of the human boy, the death that he caused. A human who was killed trying to protect the Pokemon around the field who where all hurt very severely. Mewtwo finally felt shame for what he had done. Bowing his head in shame for being an udder fool.

Mew felt such guilt, more guilt then it had felt within her long life combined. Mew had never killed before, had not needed to in her whole life, she did not like it. And the one she killed was the Chosen One of all beings she could have killed she had to kill the most important one. Mew lowered her head in shame.

And poor Pikachu had never felt such sadness, of all the things they had gone through within the time they had been together. It aas over, his beloved trainer was gone, never to say his name or hold him again. Tears poured out of his eyes onto the stone statue his trainer had become. He would give anything just to be held in Ash's arms again, anything!

What none noticed was that the tears they shed never touched the ground, not a single tear. All their tears floated to the stone body of Ash Ketchum. Hundreds of tears coated the stone body making it glow blue but it needed one more push. A tear from both legendary Pokemon was the last thing needed, that which came without them realizing it. Their tears joined the many others making the body glow brighter and a light shone down onto the body. Slowly it converted the stone back to flesh and cloth once more before finally the once silent heart started beating once more. The brain restarted the rest of the body's functions causing the lungs to gasp for its first breath. Ash Ketchum was alive again.
