Chapter Text

”Hilbert…”

Huh?

“HILBERT!”

“AH- fuck…” Hilbert yipped at the rude awakening, rubbing his eyes. “Whaaaaat…”

Man, that was a weird dream.

“We’re gonna be late for today’s pokemon musical! Get yo ass up and get ready, asshole!” Hilda shoved him nearly rolling him off the bed.

“Okay, okay!” Hilbert scratched his head and sat up, then slowly started to get ready. He couldn’t stop thinking about that weird dream he had.

He’d heard of Kanto and Johto… but he’d never thought he’d… and Ingo was there, too! Never thought he’d encounter that train guy out in the wild, especially in a situation like that.

Man, I kinda wish Sneasler or whatever it was called actually existed now. I could… Nope, nevermind— scratch that. As much as the view would be nice from the top of a building… it wouldn’t be great for this kid’s fear of heights at all.

Now was the time for a day out on the town , is apparently what Hilda thought. It seemed so to Hilbert, at least. Of course, it might be a little tricky out there.. you never know if you’ll get paparazzi on your tail, being the twin champions, after all.

But they made their way out, Samurott and Emboar in their pokeballs, ready for the adventure. Hilbert let Soccer— his Braviary— out of the ball, only to be reminded of his dream once again.

“Cmon, dude! Get a move on!” Hilda gave him a playful shove, and Hilbert rolled his eyes before climbing onto Braviary. Next was Hilda, and then they were off.

It didn’t take long to get there— plopped right in the middle of town square by his buddy Soccer, who then promptly returned to his ball.

Hilbert turned to look at the subway station— thinking maybe he could get some battling done when they were finished with the show— only to take pause at the scene before him.

“…Emmet?” Hilbert spoke up after a moment, glancing up at him. He noticed how Emmet’s eyes were blood-shot.

“Emmet— What happened!?” Hilda piped up, her expression dire. Hilbert was just as worried, if not moreso.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about! There was a minor accident, it’ll be taken care of!” Emmet responded, in his regular voice… but to to the twins, it seemed strained.

The looked at each other, then glanced at Emmet.

“Hey guys!” The twins whipped around— only to see that somehow, Bianca found the two of them.

“GREETINGS! Miss Bianca has joined the conversation!” Emmet announced, tipping his hat down slightly. This cast a shadow over his eyes.

“Oh! Hi Emmet! Is Ingo here too? Where is he?” Emmet froze. “You two are attached at the hip!” Bianca said lightheartedly.

Hilbert immediately noticed Emmet’s hesitance, and turned to face him again— only to see the man had froze up, two fingers still on his hat.

The silence was deafening.

“…Everybody smile!” Until Emmet finally broke it again, his face barely visible under the shadow his hat now cast.

The twins glanced at each other, as Bianca stood there with a figurative question mark over here head. Clueless.

With that, Emmet walked back to the front steps of the station, and over to— Elesa, who Hilbert hadn’t noticed was there until just now.

A sense of worry— of dread, almost— set into their hearts. The too glanced back at Bianca, then sighed.

“We’re going to the musical, would to like to join us?” Hilbert asked, dry as usual.

“Oh! Sure thing! You know how I love the musicals!” Bianca lit up again, obviously following the two as they made their way to the brightly lit theatre.
