“That’s why I think he’s a very important person for us, and—”
“Fukka, just cut it out, just because Teru-nii doesn’t stop you, it doesn’t mean you can go on forever!” Koji exclaimed, speaking for everyone.
“We’re falling asleep,” Sakuma continued, even going to the extent of leaning on Shota’s shoulder, yawning, and closing his eyes.
“Alright, alright, I got it, enough already,” Fukazawa sighed, gesturing to everyone to raise their glasses – filled with juice since Raul was still underage and they were good old brothers – and toast together, “Then, one last time, happy birthday Hikaru!”
Everyone joined together to wish the guy a happy birthday one last time, before Koji hurried all of them to come closer to Hikaru, so they could all take a picture. While the guy was setting the camera for the picture, Shota tried to figure out where he should place himself. Being one of the shortest, he knew that his position would be in the front, unlike Raul who was already headed to stand behind the others.
At once, then, he saw Ren going next to Hikaru, and just like a natural, and unconscious reaction, Shota’s legs walked up to his boyfriend, as he positioned himself right next to him – well, he ended up being stuck between the two tall guys since both Shota and Ren’s arms went on Hikaru’s back.
After some snapshots, Koji went immediately to check them, followed by a curious Fukazawa and a noisy Sakuma. At that moment, a burst of loud laughter echoed in the room, and everyone looked at the pink-haired Omega.
“What’s so funny?” asked a puzzled Abe.
“Koji’s camera was set to take five snapshots, and you should really see the last one,” Sakuma said, still laughing. Next to him, Fukazawa and Koji were pointing at someone in the picture, chuckling as well.
“Why? Why?” Raul excitedly said, skipping his way to the other three. Then, Raul burst out laughing as well, before looking at Shota, or rather, somewhere behind him.
He turned and saw a confused Ren furrowing his eyebrows at him.
In the end, they all went to see this infamous picture, but Koji didn’t show that first. He instead preferred to do what he called an ‘escalating’.
“Alright, we have the first one. It’s a good one,” he stated, “The second one. This is very nice, look at our smiles.” He went on for a while until he arrived at the last one, and as soon as Shota looked at it, he understood. “And here we have Meme killing with his eyes Teru-nii.”
“Man, if eyes could kill I’d be dead,” Hikaru said, amused.
Ren wore an embarrassed, apologetic smile on his face, “I’m sorry Niki, I guess I couldn’t hold it back…”
“Meme, you two are always side by side in every group picture we take already, and yet you still get jealous if someone else is next to Shoppi?” asked Koji, still not dropping down the subject.
“I don’t get jealous, I’m totally fine with it.”
“That’s right, that’s true,” Fukazawa said, apparently calming down the teasing atmosphere, just to raise it up once again, “Hikaru is the Alpha so poor Meme still feels like he has to mark his territory.”
While everyone laughed, and an amused Hikaru went to hug Ren, who was in the middle of still explaining himself to the others, Shota was still thinking about Koji’s words.
So, almost going off-topic, he looked at his friends dumbfounded, “What? Do Meme and I always stick together in pictures?”
The other eight stared at him speechless, as if he had just said some blasphemy or worse. The first one to speak was Miyadate, who approached him and patted his shoulders, “Well, come on, it’s not your fault. Probably, your instinct is to stay close to your Alpha. And the same goes for him.”
“I don’t, stop with this stereotyping. Just because I’m an Omega it doesn’t mean I always stay close to him. Moreover, we haven’t even bonded yet, so.”
“Y-Yet? You want to?” Sakuma stuttered. He opened his eyes widened, and then looked at the both of them, “You two want to bond?!”
Shit, he thought. “Wait, I didn’t mean that—”
“Wonder if Meme will stop sending death glares to Teru-nii and Date-san whenever they get close to Shoppi if that happens.”
Ren sighed loudly, “I don’t send death glares.”
“And anyway,” Shota started, going to support his boyfriend, trying to bury his previous words into an abyss by shifting the focus on the other couple, “You should see how Date looks whenever you cling to Meme or Hikaru.”
The person in question tilted his head to the side, acting confused, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Koji, instead, looked at his own boyfriend and blinked his eyes in surprise, “Date-san, are you jealous?”
“I’m not, Koji,” Miyadate calmly said, before adding, “But it would indeed be appreciated if you could reduce the amount of time you spend hugging other Alphas.”
“Well, he’s right,” Hikaru followed, “Even if it’s a friend, we still feel a bit irritated if an Omega we consider ours is all over another Alpha.”
“Oh, really? I thought you didn’t…”
“Not really, so, be a good Omega and cling only to Date-san, as Shota clings only to Meme.”
“I don’t cling only to Meme!” Shota burst out, somehow feeling his pride attacked.
There, Ren turned towards him, his gaze interrogative, “You cling to other Alphas?”
Upon seeing the two couples kind of arguing, and an Alpha and an Omega trying to explain both sides of the things, Fukazawa, Raul, and Abe retreated to the table, where their forgotten drinks and food still were.
Fukazawa took his glass and drank his juice, sighing happily, “I’m so glad to be born a Beta.
“I know, right?” Raul and Abe said at the same time, sharing the other’s feelings perfectly.
