Work Text:
Shouta smiles, watching soft sunlight filtering through the blinds as beams into the room and falling directly over his sleeping boyfriend.
Yes, boyfriend.
After seven years of stalking researching, one murder removal of that disgusting little Manual creep and five years of friendship, Shouta had finally asked Izuku to be his.
His mood sours at the thought of Manual.
Because Izuku was horrified when he found out that Manual had stalked him for years and took his stuff! If Shouta had known about the disgusting vile things which that man had done, then he would have gifted Manual to his father, his amazing dad, Nedzu.
Shouta shook his head. What's done is done.
And his Izuku had finally opened up to him. So, he was ecstatic.
The proposal had been a private one, and it was only last night that it had happened. He sighs, pulling Izuku's warm body close to him, inhaling the strawberry-vanilla scent of his soulmate.
It had happened when they were watching the annual meteor shower.
When they sat on the roof in the cold breezy night, Shouta was confused because he couldn't decide whether to look at the stars in the sky or the one sitting beside him.
And that's when he finally asked his long awaited question.
Izuku replied with a yes, blushing a brilliant red and with his hands trying to cover his gorgeous freckled face. They both had laughed before they locked eyes.
Emerald met onyx and time froze.
Izuku was breathtaking.
And then he kissed Izuku as the meteor shower began. Finally claiming his love.
"For you? I would steal the stars." He had promised. And Izuku giggled in reply, pulling him up from his seating position as music played from his phone.
"Come on, dance with me. The earth is spinning. We can't just stand on it." Izuku said as pulled Shouta close to him.
They danced all night.
"Mine," Shouta whispered as the sun rose behind him. "Yours," Izuku breathed out.
And Shouta kissed him again.
Izuku smelled toast.
He woke up yawning, a bit tired from last night's events. He wasn't a dancer at all. But with Shouta? He could do anything. It was fun, easy and real to be with Shouta.
Izuku felt things he had never before when he was with Shouta.
"Good morning." Izuku spoke softly as he entered the kitchen. He was in Shouta's house home right now.
Shouta was brewing coffee as Izuku sat down with a sigh, cracking the joints of his arms as he raised them to stretch.
Shouta smiled, a small one as he replied. "Good morning, love." His husky voice filled with warmth.
Izuku blushed in reply.
"There's a theory that says you don't exist unless someone calls & you respond. Or when someone mentions your name." Izuku blurted out, fanning himself to relax. It was only the morning and he was acting up like a teenager.
"Whatever we love, we mention it." Shouta mused out loud.
"Then I must love you because I mention you all the time." He added as he joined Izuku on the table, holding two cups of freshly brewed coffee and a plate of toast on a tray.
Izuku hid his face behind his arms. He cleared his throat. "Umm. So yeah! I am going to UA to apply as a teacher, right?" He asked, trying to divert the attention again.
"I believe it's already done. All you need to do is to sign them, I guess. Dad just told me to bring you to UA along with your teacher's license."
"Well then, I am ready!" Izuku cheered.
Shouta smiled back in reply.
Izuku liked it. Shouta rarely smiled in public.
Shouta walked the empty halls of UA, holding Izuku, hand in hand.
The trip to the principal's office was practically muscle memory to him. He could do it with his eyes closed.
Izuku tightened the grip on his hand, fidgeting nervously as they stood in front of the office's door.
Shouta knew that Nedzu was getting ready to greet his son-in-law and impressions matter, despite Izuku passing from UA.
Shouta understands why people hold hands: he'd always thought it was about possessiveness, saying This is mine. But it's about maintaining contact. It is about speaking without words. It is about I want you with me and don't go.
And he nods encouragingly and waits and the door swings open, without the need to be knocked on.
"Come in!" Nedzu chirps.
And Shouta knew that this meeting is useless. Izuku was already added in as a UA teacher.
Just a small formality was left to be done.
Then Shouta can stay close to Izuku more.
He shared a glance with a satisfied looking Nedzu and a less nervous-happy Izuku.
Everything was perfect.
