Aj layed as still as she could. More still then she had ever been before. Her breathing slowed as she turned her head slightly. Her eyes looked down at her temporary roommate in a state of euphoria, frenzy and fear. She was so scared she was going to wake Paige up.
One arm was sprawled across her body, holding tight at the other end. Her leg had shifted over one of Ajs to rest in the space between her legs and her head was rested just below Ajs shoulder.
Aj felt as if she were being pinned down. She remembered taking some Judo lessons when she was young; this felt worse. But also SO much better. How she ended up like this she didn't know but was not in a rush to get out. She had woken up maybe 10 minutes ago to a strong feeling on her chest. By the time she had opened her eyes she had already began to process the situation she was in. Nobody had ever been this intimate with her, ever. I mean, there was the kiss the two shared in the bathroom a few hours earlier but this, this was different. This was personal, this was petrifying, this was trust.
She had known she had fallen for Paige Evans since that moment when her sister, Gabriella, had dragged Paige away to get shots at Stacey's house party. It was the fact that she instantly felt sadness she was without her and the small ball of anger she had inside her that somebody had taken her away from her side. Even if that person was her twin sister. She had realised later on that she had liked her for a while, a long while actually, but never really seemed to admit it. She thought back to all those days from elementary, through middle then continuing onto High school where she would steal glances at the girl. They would often vary between quick peaks to see where she was or sometimes longing stares at the back of her head in Maths Class. Whatever it was, it wasn't healthy.
She had never assumed the feelings were reciprocated. There would be short bursts of eye contact or unexpected looks that would make her question every little thing that had happened to her.
Now though. Something was happening. She wanted to believe to the deepest of her abilities that this position they were both in was completely voluntary and Paige knew what she was doing. However, Aj was smarter then that. She knew what pretending to be asleep looked like and this was not it. This was stone cold slumber. Other options Aj considered was just a simple accident from twisting and turning way too much but that seemed unlikely with all the blankets and sheet surrounding them and then there was her final hypothesis: Paige had experienced so many sleepovers with Dillon that her body naturally gravitated towards anyone she shared a bed with. It was instict to throw herself over the nearest person and hold on for dear life.
She remembered Paige talking about one of her sleepover once during their one on one practice. She'd always know the two were close but never known the true extent of their platonic connection until then.
She slowly and carefully dragged her arm out from under the sleeping girl. If she ever woke her she didn't know if she could ever forgive herself.
Her mind raced as she considered her options on where to place her newly feed arm. She let it rest on the bed space next to her to save her from letting it start to ache whilst she contemplated the decisions. Even though the arm was now in a relatively comfy spot she yearned for more. She was unsatisfied. Paige Evan's sleeping form is basically on to of you and all you can do it watch? Carefully and gently, Aj moved her hand up from the bed and over Paiges waist. Her hand hovered above the then layer of fabric that was Paiges night shirt. The feeling of the duvet against the top of her hand was like a weight begging for her to lower the limb. She did it. Finally.
The immediate sense of relief was almost overwhelming. She couldn't believe it. She wanted to jump around the room with joy that this is what her life was right now but this was so much better then anything.
She could feel each little shuffle, wriggle and rise and fall of her chest. She wished she could stay like this forever. Her whole body finally relaxed. She had never felt such bliss.
.......
The next morning Paige woke up before A.J did. She was warm. Very, very warm. She could feel as the body beneath her's chest rise and fell with every tempered breath.
"Dylan." She mumbled. She nudged their hip slightly with her leg. "What's the time?"
"7:30." They responded.
Shit.
Paige tilted her head slowly upwards. Yep. Yep. Fuck. Aj. Had her head rested back on the pillow and her eyes closed.
"You're not Dillon." Paige stated moving quickly to cover her eyes but interestingly not creating anymore distance.
"How observant." Aj smiled.
"Why are you here?" Paige asked. "In this bed, with me I mean. Why are you- Why am I- what?"
"You tell me. I woke up like this too."
"Are you saying this is my fault?" Paige said defensively.
"I don't know. Maybe. No. Jeez. Nobody's at fault for this." She raised her arms slightly. Her hold of Paige was now gone. Sensing the increasing deteriotion of whatever this was Paige pushed herself away from the girl she was practicaly on top of. Aj pushed herself up to sit against the backboard as Paige sat up cross legged facing away from her.
"I'm sorry." Paige said quietly. She wants usually one to apologise but could feel the tension in the space.
"You don't need to be."
Paige's cheeks suddenly went red hot and her whole body stiffened. "Soo.... about last night, in the bathroom. Yeeaahhh."
"Yeeeaahh."
They both sat in silence for a few moments, both trying to process the situation they had but themselves in.
Aj reached her hand out and gently placed it on Paige's. Her thumb rubbed the back of the girls hand slowly.
"Aj-" Paige sighed. She turned her head and looked at the other girl. As their eyes met everything softened, a small sparkle in both of their eyes, a shudder in their stomachs, a pull of a smile on the corner of their lips.
"Yeah?" Aj replied. She stopped her thumb from moving to simply rest her hand on Paige's.
"Yeah."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah." Paige began to nod her head. She turned around.
"Yeah."
"Uh-huh." Paige moved her hand away from Aj's but placed it back down to give herself support as she leant closer and closer and closer.
Their lips touched with enough passion and tenderness to rival the night before. Aj's soft hand pushed on the bottom of Paige's cheek, it moved behind her ear to pull her in. Paige's hands rested on Aj's shoulders.
Their lips moved effortlessly in sync. The kiss was exciting, lustful and passionate. A fire had been ignited in each of their stomachs.
As paige moved her arm to wrap around the back of Aj's neck, she swung her leg over the lone twins lap.
Aj pulled back from the kiss ever so slightly. "Woah-" They kissed in between words. "You." "Are." "Amazing." She moved her hands down from Paige's face to around her her waist. She wrapped her arms around tight and pulled her in. Paige giggled slightly into the the kiss.
Suddenly, there was a click. They tried to climb off eachother in time but were too late.
"Hey Aj you left your key card in my room last night and I- OH MY GOD."
"DILLON?!?!?" Paige exclaimed. "Have you never heard of knocking?"
"I knew my schemes would work. Your mom is going to be-"
"OUT." Paige shouted throwing a pillow at him.
"Shiiit. Okay. Well. Use protection. Actually, I'd love a little Paige and Aj baby running around."
Paige grabbed another pillow.
"I'm leaving. I'm leaving."
As soon as the door clicked shut Paige drove back down, face first into the bed. "Oh my god. I'm so fucking embarrassed."
"Am I embarrassing?" Aj laughed.
"No. Shit. Fuck. God no. You're like the opposite of that." Paige rolled over. "Dillon and Stacey are just going to tease me endlessly." She grabbed her remaining pillow and pulled it over her face.
"I know you probably don't want to hear this but we've got to go now if we wanna make breakfast." Paige gruffed in response. Her pillow was slowly pulled down. "C'mon."
"Fiiinne."
