"What do you think will happen to us in the near future, Eula?" Jean looked at her friend lying beside her.
Eula's eyes are close while facing the mere sky.
Lying at their backs at the grass beneath them.
"I don't know, Jean. What do you think?" Eula returned her question as it seems like she herself does not know the answer.
"I want us to be friends forever. I want to be with you forever and ever. You're my best friend and I love you!" Jean stood up lightly to yell her dreams at the sky. Maybe the sky is listening to her wishes.
Eula on the other hand, is not so fond of her friend's idea. She felt rather... disappointed.
"Ahh... well I guess we can always be friends forever, right?"
"that's right! Eula and Jean Forever!!!" Jean screamed at the top of her lungs making Eula laugh at her friend's silliness.

"Lisa... I think I like her..." She confesses at the older girl in front of her.
"You think? You're in love with her, Jean. We're not dumb. We can see by the way you look at her."
"I can't. The people, our family, and the knights, they're gonna be disappointed when they find out. It's not supposed to be us, right? It's supposed to be-"
"No. You love who you love. There's no one stopping you. Just tell her how you feel, I'm sure she likes you back." Lisa stopped Jean from her blubbering and convinced her to confess to Eula. After all, if you truly love someone, you will do anything for that person, right?
Jean is supposed to be the future Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonius so surely, announcing her feelings for Eula, the heir of the Lawrence Clan to everyone will surely cause an uproar.
Jean gave it a thought and once she has decided, has finally said "Alright, I'll do it. I'll ask her out...I think"
'Ahh..but I think it'll be best if I wait a few weeks or years to confess to her... now is not the right time'

and that's exactly what I did back then.
I'm happy.

I don't know why I'm crying.
I looked at Eula with the same loving eyes just like I had back then.
You look beautiful, my friend. You always have.
As you continue to walk by the aisle, walking towards me, it makes me cry even more.
Everyone is happy, Eula. Everyone.
You stopped right in front me with that beautiful smile of yours that no one can resist... or maybe it's just me who couldn't resist to you?
"Jean... Thank you for being there for me whenever I needed you. I love you, always." You said with the brightest smile flustered on your face. It broke my heart, I should be happy. But no.
I couldn't hold my tears any longer as you started to walk...
towards her.
It was supposed to be me. It was supposed to be the two of us. Together. Forever.
I never had any romantic feelings for Lisa, I never did. It has always been you. But the day I came out to everyone that I like someone else... That I like you...They made me feel like I was wrong. I know how I feel and what should feel. But enduring all the pain, I told everyone that it was just a mere joke and that I was actually in love with Lisa... And you were in love with Amber. So instead of confessing to you, I confessed to Lisa instead. What a mistake it was.
That was the worst decision of my life.
But that's what everyone wanted.
Lisa and I became closer.
You and Amber became a lot closer.
Who would've thought, right? The Outrider won your heart even though I was first to reach the finish line. Perhaps, there was another lap I failed to run into.
I became the Acting Grandmaster and you became the Spindrift Knight, Captain of the Reconnaissance Company. We reached our dreams, people accepted you and Amber.
But it makes me wonder, those promises we made when we were young...were they all nothing but a wishful dream?
Our promises then, they all turned to dust.
But at least we made one promise come true, right?
Best friends forever. That's what we will always be.
