All it took was a simple bite in a scuffle to end her life. Well, okay, her life wasn't OVER but it sure felt like it at that moment. She was huddled up in a hidden alcove in the rocky outcrops Northeast of Riften as her body felt as if it was simultaneously too big and yet too small all at the same time. It felt as if her blood was burning and the increasingly intense ache in her bones had her shuddering and crying out in pain. Her vision was blurred from all her tears and perhaps something more but all she could do was lay there as her muscles and tendons snapped and reshaped themselves slowly and painfully. The transformation seemed to speed itself up and suddenly animalistic screams and howls were echoing through the wilds and scaring off any nearby animals; all the while the mutilated body hidden away was torn apart from the inside and reshaped into something of a nightmare. Fur sprouted from skin and blood dripped from freshly erased wounds and teeth sharpened and grew to fit the muzzle of the giant beast.
Gone was the Bosmer fighter that was working on saving the world and in her place stood a monster cursed by Hircine.
The newborn lycanthrope heard the silent call of her creator and she ran, ran out of the horrific spot she had risen from and ran to partake in her first hunt; a rite of passage for her kin. The wet nose twitched before the cursed one was off, following the smells that made her salivate so much. Creatures of all size were torn down by her claws and devoured by her jaws and with blood staining her body she howled at the moon.
And when the next morning came and all that remained of the beast was the same small mer dressed in torn remains of her clothing and armor and caked in blood, horrified blue eyes spilled tears for she knew everything she had done and the lives she ended with her own two hands. Oh, who would ever want to live with this curse?
