Chapter Text
It's a beautiful, bright sunny day. One perfect for relaxation, unfortunately however. This day found some of the hero students hard at training and some disgruntledly and silently walking towards their common rooms.
"Mineta, why!? You know it makes them uncomfortable, why say that!? It made me uncomfortable to hear!" Izuku almost shouted at the short boy as soon as all the males in class 2-A entered their dorms common room and sat down, having been let out early from today's exercise because of Mineta's crass words again. None of them liked the ominous red eyed glare and the whispered "I'll take care of you later." By their teacher.
"It was flirting dude! I know you don't know how it works, but I thought you at least heard about it!" Mineta weakly laughed between his words but fell silent as nobody joined in, they all stared at Izuku, who had gone incredibly still, eyes blank and staring off into the distance.
He stayed that way just long enough that Tenya thought about getting up and trying to shake Izuku awake, light returned to the One For All user's eyes and a snarl formed on his lips. "Mineta, I'm sorry…" The words have a growling quality to them that silence the gathered audience, seeing as Katsuki silently went up to his dorm instead of sitting with the rest of them. Nobody had ever seen Izuku snarl before. They had seen him angry, yes. But when he was angry, he had a stern and stoic face. Not a Katsuki-worthy snarl.
"...The amount of stupid you just told me caused me to blank out for a few moments…" Izuku then took a deep breath and shouted. "That's not how any kind of flirting is done you absolute moron! You're more likely to get the police and/or heroes after you than anything else with that kind of behavior!"
There's a deep silence punctuated by Izuku's heavy breathing after his outburst. The common rooms and the usual wildlife just outside the dorms also seem to have gone silent. As if everything was staring at Izuku in shock at his vritrol. The silence was eventually broken by Denki, who started to snicker.
"Dude, come on. You're the "cinnamon roll, but can kill you" type personified. You wouldn't know what flirting is if it hit you upside the head!"
"Denki, I swear to you. I can give lessons on flirting. Just to get Mineta to stop being… mineta." Izuku hissed out the last part, the snarl seeming to have made a comfortable home in his face and not moving anytime soon.
A near-silent "hmm" signals someone else joining the conversation. "Then can you, Midoriya? It would make my research easier, and hopefully make for less distractions in our hero training sessions." Shoto, impassive as ever. Unknowingly challenged Izuku. Some of the boys smirked at that, believing that Izuku would now fold his bluff.
"Sure, Shouto." And the smirks immediately vanished, along with Izuku's snarl as the 2-A student took a deep breath, capturing the surprised attention of the males of class 2-A.
"Okay… okay…" Izuku then slapped his cheeks twice, a habit he seems to have gotten from Ochako. "Right. So, the most important rule about flirting is to never forget that it isn't something that's just one and done. It's more than that if reciprocated."
Izuku then got up from his seat and started to pace, keeping his volume up to be heard, but likely needing to pace to combat the sudden nervousness attack in the face of his anger draining.
"First, to properly flirt with every girl you have to understand them on some level. Because no one way of flirting will work with everyone. Then you need to mix body language, wording and your positioning relative to them to make it clear to them that you are interested…"
Izuku takes a deep breath again, turning to face the entirety of the male part of 2-A, a determined glint in his now-glowing emerald green eyes.
"Take Momo for example…"
