Chapter Text
"Where's Kazarin?"
The KMM gang had woken up to the most startling thing: Kazarin wasn't there, the doziest member of the group. Not at the table for breakfast, not in her room, nowhere to be seen.
"Her bag's gone."
"Kazarin get up early?"
"We're gonna be late as it is, look at the clock. We can solve this mystery later."
"Yeah yeah, we're going!"
Soon enough they made it to school, where it was a mostly normal day. That is until Kanna noticed something odd about the two students sitting right of her, Takamiya Honoka and to his right Kagari Ayaka. They weren't interacting at all!
"Surely you guys haven't been focused on class enough that you didn't notice anything!" Kanna shocked at the revelation she now shared with the group alone.
"I might have been..." Kotetsu replied.
"Did they have a fight or something?" Mei wondered, fingers stroking her chin.
"Maybe this is our chance to get him!" Tanpopo slammed a fist into her hand, pumped up at the idea that this is how they got the boy.
"Get... him?" Rin asked, sounding very confused. Sitting on the ground like that didn't help her look.
"Of course Kazarin! Don't you remember why we're here? To capture Takamiya Honoka for Medusa!" The kemomimi shocked Kazarin could forget their mission so easily.
"Oh!" Nodding quickly, she just barely covered her blushing face, hiding into her knees.
Not fast enough though, as Kanna caught the sight of the blush. Something about it made Kanna start thinking that it wasn't just forgetfulness on Kazarin's part.
"Even if the Flame Princess wasn't watching over Takamiya, you forget his sister. Most likely to be hanging around still." Kotetsu reminded the group. "If not that, then others likely in the shadows as well. The game is starting to look quite rigged against us." They all groaned in collective pain.
At that moment the bell rang, coordinating all students back to their classes. Eventually school let out and any plans to capture Takamiya had dried up like a river in a dreadful desert. However, those plans were the only thing to dry up. Kanna was still thinking over that strange occurrence from Kazarin.
It was the final straw when Kazarin stayed behind to do something, she didn't specify what. Kanna didn't know where this strange suspicion came from but it wasn't going to hurt following it. But soon after enough time, it sure felt like a punch to the gut when Kazarin came out of the school gates holding hands with Takamiya.
What was going on?! Is Kazarin actually some mastermind by capturing Takamiya's heart instead of his body? Or is it something else... A bad feeling was beginning to settle in her gut.
