Work Text:
Dim lights, the smoke of tobacco filling the air. Chuuya’s laughter ringed, as he was chatting and flirting with some random man he had just met.
Akutagawa was sitting on the stool next to Chuuya, staring with a frown at the glass in his hands, still pretty much full. He was not listening to what Chuuya and that man were saying, but sent a glance, or better say a glare, towards them from time to time.
He wondered why he had let Chuuya convince him to come with him.
-Come on, we will have fun tonight! – he had said.
Well, Akutagawa was not having fun. He sighed, thinking that he should have told his superior that their ideas of fun might not match.
He kept staring at the full glass, and his grip tightened in nervousness around it.
Actually, he did know why he had accepted. He did so to have the occasion to spend some more time with Chuuya outside of work. Except that this way barely spending time together: yes, they were technically in the same room, and also pretty close, but the redhead seemed to have eyes only for this stranger… The frown on Akutagawa’s brow deepened.
Right as he was so immersed into his thoughts, he perceived Chuuya hopping down the stool, taking the man by the arm in a coquettish way, leaning his head against him. He told Akutagawa something, but he wasn’t listening.
As Chuuya and the man walked out of the bar, he followed them, his look somber and his hands in his pockets.
Only when they were out, the cold air of the night tickling their skin, Chuuya saw that he was following. This time, Akutagawa heard him clearly.
-Hey, what are you doing? – his tone was not angry, just confused. -I told you I’m going home with him tonight. I’m sure you will be fine by yourself, you don’t need me to bring you home, do you? –
So, that was it? Chuuya had wanted to go out with him just to leave him alone for some stranger? Akutagawa didn’t have the time to reply that the man meddled in, and in the worst way possible. He looked at Chuuya with a smug grin. -Come on, let your friend come if he wants to…-
He then turned directly to Akutagawa. -Hey sweetheart, do you want to have some fun with us tonight? You are quite pretty…- While saying so, in a husky voice, he took Akutagawa by his chin, forcing him to look up.
Wrong move. Before he could even realize it, he found himself impaled by Rashomon.
Chuuya alternated his look between the dead guy and his companion, staring at both in disbelief. In the end, he threw himself to the (quite) alive one, grabbing him by his shirt. -What the fuck did you have in mind?! This bar is protected by the mafia, killing its patrons is not what we are supposed to be doing! He was not an enemy! Not to mention he was quite hot, what a waste… - He sighed, and let Akutagawa’s shirt go. The latter just stared at his superior with an empty gaze, as if, once again, he was not really listening to him.
-Fine, fine, I’m covering you up, but just for this time. Do not pull this trick up ever again. Now we have a dead body to get rid of and no hook up… Let me get someone to dispose of this. - while saying so, he was already fumbling with his phone.
-Done, they are coming right away. Well, we can call it a night. Let’s go back home. – Chuuya put his phone back into his pants’ pocket and started walking away from the bar, cradling the back of neck with his lifted arms. Akutagawa was quietly following him.
- Damn, when I thought about getting that dude into my body count this was not what I had expected… - Chuuya commented with a grin.
