Chapter Text
I think I am a lucky man.
I started my career because I admired an actor who appeared in a live-action film of a comic book I liked, went to school, and even though I sometimes made fun of my friends, I was able to reach my goal - to become Spiderman.
And then my film became a huge success and I was on my way to becoming a top star!
I wish I could go on with my dreamy story at ......, but that would be jumping the gun a bit too much.
After the film I had longed to work on was cancelled midway through, I was faced with sweet and bitter experiences, and had the opportunity to work with many different directors and productions, despite the difficulties I encountered.
The combination of the works that I worked on and the recognition I received while giving my all to each of these wonderful works is what has brought me to where I am today.
It's great to see someone who rises straight to stardom, but I think my life as an actor is also moderately good, with plenty of sugar and just the right amount of spice.
......After all, I've played a lot of roles, and I'm still very attached to the role of Spider-Man as my starting point as an actor.
I love Spider-Man more than anything.
I love Spider-Man more than anything, but I also know that the title will always remain in my heart like a scratch.
In interviews, I'm always asked about it, so I say I have no regrets, and I've made my peace with the fact that I'm done with it.
But ......
But the truth is that I wanted to play more and more like him.
After all, my most beloved hero and admirer is.......
--------------------------------------------------
I was back on the road again after a phone call.
It all started with a phone call.
Hi Andrew.
I'm sorry to jump the gun here, but Peter Parker, are you interested in making a comeback as Spider-Man in a hero movie?
Yes?
The question was so direct and straightforward that I couldn't help but respond out loud and cough to cover it up.
Of course, I'm a geek myself, so I had heard about this dreamy rumor, but I couldn't suppress my excitement. I couldn't contain my excitement.
I listened carefully to what they had to say, and it turned out that I was indeed going to play "Spider-Man" again.
And, unbelievably, it would be with my favorite actor, the first Spider-Man, and the third Spider-Man of this generation's young and shining youth, all played by the actor of my dreams.
While listening somewhere in the distance as they talked about the details of the contract and schedule, I decided to play the role with two words.
It was six months later that I met the man of my dreams.
He was sneaking around to keep the film confidential...and to my surprise, there was a clause in the contract that said he had to "go to work in secret," which was quite a feat! I put on a baseball cap and walked to a small, four-story building in the suburbs.
For the next two weeks, we will be spending a lot of time in the three private studios in the building, going over the details of the film, fitting outfits, and having a preparation period before shooting with the director and crew.
As I was greeting the director, co-stars, and staff as I was arriving a little early, I found him in the hallway talking with the staff.
He was smiling and laughing with a calm expression on his face, and his good-natured appearance made my heart flutter. It was exactly the image I had of "Peter Parker" when he was getting older and more relaxed.
I turned on the switch in my mind for acting when I needed to be especially enthusiastic, and moved my legs as fast and as slow as possible to get to him.
Then he seemed to notice me, too, and our eyes met with pale blue eyes.
It's beautiful.
I looked into his eyes with a primitive feeling of the mysterious blue color that we humans feel.
It's nice to meet you, Andrew Garfield.
It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person, and I'm honored to be working with you.
I look forward to working with you.
With a natural gesture, he slowly and calmly held out his hand like an "adult man.
It's okay. I thought it was a little stiff, but I had prepared my speech so as not to be rude, and I'm sure I didn't speak too quickly like a nerd. I guess so.
What about him?
He paused for a moment when he saw my hand and face, but then smiled softly and said
Yes, it's nice to meet you. And it's been two days since the day before yesterday!
I'm...as you probably know, I'm Tobey Maguire.
I'm looking forward to a lot this time, nice to meet you.
He shook my hand firmly.
The warmth and softness of Toby's hand made me nervous, but at the same time it made my head spin.
He said, "Well, ...... it's been a day or two since the day before yesterday?"
Ah! I'm sorry...I don't understand.
I finally got to see your "Tick, tick... BOOM! I finally got to see your "Tick, tick... BOOM! And your singing and acting were so good that I just..."
(to ......)
I was aware of the heat gathering in my ears as I felt the smiling face in front of me and the fluffy feeling leave my sweaty hands.
Thank you very much, it's a pleasure to meet you in person, and I'm truly honored to finally have the opportunity to work with you.
I've seen all of your films, both the ones you've appeared in and the ones you've produced, and they're all really great..."
Before I could finish, I realized that my "dialogue" was no good this time.
I noticed before I could finish, but this time the "dialogue" was not good. But... what can I do? I've just been praised by an actor I admire!
I'm flattered. Thank you."
I was choking on my words, unable to hide my excitement, but Toby responded smartly with a simple smile.
I'm not flattered, I'm really a fan. Can you come over here for a minute?"
I was mumbling to myself, wanting to tell him more about how I felt, when Toby was called away at an inopportune moment by another staff member, who apologetically winked at me with one eye before leaving.
I felt sorry for him, but at the same time somewhat relieved, thinking that I was a petty person even in front of someone I admired. A thin, self-deprecating smile filled my face.
But ......
I lightly clapped my cheeks with both hands.
I have to switch it up!
After all, as the actor for Spider-Man 3, I've set a goal in advance to be the balancer between Spider-Man, his brother, and the production team for the past two weeks. It's too early for ups and downs.
...Besides.
I had a lot of chances to talk to Toby again in the next two weeks.
I clasped my hands tightly and took a step forward.
①Complete.
