Yeonjun isn’t someone who normally goes to the library, but when he was dragged by Soobin to study, he noticed a pretty guy that caught his eye– the assistant librarian. And so, he arrived at the library for the third time that week to see him, with the mission of getting his number instead of staring at the assistant librarian.
Once he entered the library, he was greeted by the assistant librarian. “Good afternoon!”
Yeonjun gave him a small smile. “Good afternoon! I want to ask where the manhwas are located?”
“Sure, follow me!” The assistant librarian said as Yeonjun followed him. “Is there any you’re specifically looking for?”
“I’m not looking for anything in particular– is there anything you can recommend?” Yeonjun asked.
"There’s a manhwa I like, and you’re in luck since someone returned the book yesterday.” The assistant librarian responded as he looked for it. “It’s a really beautiful story.”
Yeonjun hummed. “If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your name?”
“Choi Beomgyu, what’s yours?” Beomgyu responded as his eyes are still focused on looking for the manhwa.
“Choi Yeonjun.”
“It’s nice to meet you Yeonjun,” Beomgyu said as he handed Yeonjun a manhwa. “Hope you enjoy Your Letter (Yeon’s Letters) , it’s one of my favorites!”
Yeonjun nodded as Beomgyu walked away, smiling to himself as he thought, ‘Choi Beomgyu… What a pretty name.’

“He’s here again?!” Taehyun said as Beomgyu nodded while sipping his coffee in the staff break room.
“Yeah… but I don’t mind it.” Beomgyu chuckled. “He looks nice and besides, he’s handsome.”
“I won’t deny that.” Taehyun said. “But I wonder if he’ll ever ask for your number.”
“So it wasn’t just me noticing that he glances at me at times! Like I know I'm pretty, but at least be discreet about it.” Beomgyu said, as he continued drinking his coffee.
“I have a feeling he’ll probably talk to you soon.” Taehyun said.
“I also have a similar feeling that Yeonjun will ask me out.” Beomgyu said, as Taehyun and Beomgyu left the break room.

As hours pass by, Beomgyu is still surprised to see Yeonjun in the library. “Taehyun, you noticed that Yeonjun is still here even though we’re about to close in half an hour?”
Taehyun hummed. “I do, and oh. Beomgyu, you don’t mind closing the library by yourself this time, do you?”
“I don’t mind Taehyun. And maybe, Yeonjun would talk to me.” Beomgyu said as Taehyun chuckled.
“Text me if something happens!” Taehyun said as he left the library when Beomgyu noticed from the corner of his eye of Yeonjun getting up.
“Hey, Beomgyu.” Yeonjun said. “How are you doing?”
“Good evening, Yeonjun.” Beomgyu said. “Is there anything you need?”
“Hmm… Maybe your number?” Yeonjun said as chuckled as Beomgyu raised an eyebrow. “I know that wasn’t the best line, but I am an opportunist.”
Beomgyu smiled. “Sure, do you want a date too?”
“Why not?” Yeonjun said as he handed his phone to Beomgyu. “Will tomorrow at 2pm at the cafe work?”
“Works well for me.” Beomgyu said as he gave Yeonjun’s phone back, and thought he saw him blushing when he packed up. As Yeonjun left, Beomgyu grabbed his phone and texted Taehyun.

Taehyun, I got a date!

It’s the next day, and Beomgyu woke up, seeing that he received a message from Taehyun.
Taehyun (12:55PM)
I’m happy for you bro.
Also, I’m coming to your apartment in ten minutes to help you choose your clothes.
Beomgyu looked at the time, reading 1:02PM. He got up and went to brush his teeth before hearing a knock on the door. As he went to the door and looked through the peephole, he saw Taehyun staring at him before he opened the door. “You didn’t have to look through the peephole like that, Taehyun.”
“When I read that message, I immediately wanted to help you choose an outfit for the date. So here I am. So what do we have in that closet?” Taehyun said as he headed to Beomgyu’s room, rummaging through his closet and asking Beomgyu, “Where are you going?”
“I’m going to a cafe.” Beomgyu said.
Taehyun hummed before throwing a red long sleeve shirt and beige overalls at Beomgyu’s bed. “Try that on, you’ll probably look cute.”
“Fine.” Beomgyu said as he changed from his pajamas to the outfit Taehyun chose for him. “What do you think about the outfit Taehyun?”
Taehyun turned around. “It looks cute on you! Just wear your Mike’s red shoes and that’s your outfit.”
Beomgyu smiled at the compliment when he heard his phone buzzing. Grabbing his phone, he saw a number messaged him.

Good morning Beomgyu! I hope you had a good night's sleep!
I forgot to mention what cafe I wanted us to go to, the cafe is Healing!
Beomgyu smiled, saved Yeonjun’s number, and responded.

Good morning Yeonjun!
And thanks for letting me know, hope to see you there soon.
“I’m ready to go on that date.” Beomgyu said as he grabbed his socks and his red shoes.
“Yeah you are! And you don’t mind me staying here right? My roommate Hueningkai invited his boyfriend over to our apartment, and I don’t want to be another third wheel.”
“As long as you’re out of the apartment before 7pm, make yourself at home.” Beomgyu said before he left the apartment.
As he walks through people, he’s excited and maybe it’s because Yeonjun intrigued him when they locked eyes that day he went there with his friend. As he got closer to the cafe, he texted Yeonjun.
Beomgyu (1:31PM)
I’m almost there.
When Beomgyu arrived at the cafe, he noticed Yeonjun sitting by himself at a table near the windows, busy looking at his phone. Beomgyu smiled and went up to Yeonjun, giving a slight tap on his shoulders.
“Hey, Yeonjun." Beomgyu chirped as Yeonjun looked up from his phone with a big smile. Yeonjun stood up and gave Beomgyu a hug, before Beomgyu noticed Yeonjun’s outfit– a plain white shirt with red shapes, red pants, and white shoes.
“We’re sort of matching,” Beomgyu chuckled. “It’s cute! It’s like we’re meant to be or something.”
"Yeonjun also chuckled. “Should we go ahead and get some pastries?”
Beomgyu nodded as they went to the counter and a barista noticed them, walking over to them. “Good afternoon! What can we get you?”
Beomgyu said, “An Iced Strawberry Latte with a slice of vanilla cake.”
“Anything else?”
Yeonjun said, “An Iced Mocha with a slice of red velvet cake.”
“Is that all?” The barista asked and Yeonjun and Beomgyu nodded. “Alright, it’s ₩15,500.”
As Beomgyu was taking out his wallet, Yeonjun gave the barista ₩20,000, whispering to Beomgyu, “You don’t have to pay, I got it.”
“Alright, here’s your change and the receipt.” The barista said.
“Thank you!” Yeonjun smiled as he and Beomgyu walked back to the table near the windows, talking until they heard, “Order 53?”
Beomgyu immediately got up and walked over to the counter. Before walking away, the barista told Beomgyu, “You guys look cute, many wishes for your relationship!”
Beomgyu blushed but thanked her before placing the tray in the middle of the table as Beomgyu and Yeonjun talked, ate their pastries, and drank their coffees. After a couple of minutes, they decided to go bowling.
Once they arrived at the bowling alley, they paid for their rental shoes and three games. As they were putting on their shoes, Yeonjun said, “Whoever loses in three rounds has to pay everything for the second date.”
Beomgyu blushed when he heard about the second date. “We’ll have a second date?”
“If you want one!” Yeonjun said.
Beomgyu smiled and nodded. “Of course, I just wanted to tease you. And you sound oddly confident that you’ll do good at bowling.” Beomgyu said.
“I think I’ll be great at bowling. Watch me get all of the pins down on the first try.” Yeonjun said as he aims, lets go the bowling ball only for the ball to completely miss the pins. Though Beomgyu felt bad, he immediately laughed as Yeonjun playfully whined, “Beomgyu!”
Beomgyu smiled and nodded. “Of course, I just wanted to tease you. And you sound oddly confident that you’ll do good at bowling.” Beomgyu said.
“I think I’ll be great at bowling. Watch me get all of the pins down on the first try.” Yeonjun said as he aims, lets go the bowling ball only for the ball to completely miss the pins. Though Beomgyu felt bad, he immediately laughed as Yeonjun playfully whined, “Beomgyu!”
“I’m sorry!” Beomgyu said even though he didn’t sound sorry as he continued laughing. When he stopped, he went to the lane, aimed, and let go of the bowling ball, getting eight of the ten pins down.
“Show off.” Yeonjun teased as they continued playing until they finished their three rounds. Though they don’t understand bowling, all they know is that Beomgyu won.
“That was fun.” Yeonjun said. “Though you’re a natural at bowling, can't believe you got the ten pins down in one go at the final strike.”
“That was my first time, so I think I got lucky.” Beomgyu chuckled.
“You’re really lucky then, do you mind sending me some of that luck?” Yeonjun said as he and Beomgyu chuckled.
“I’ll consider it.” Beomgyu said before seeing Yeonjun going on his phone, seeing the time. “Can you believe it’s 5:53PM?”
“It’s really that late?!” Yeonjun nodded and Beomgyu said, “Well since I have to work early tomorrow, let’s end the day short.”
“As unfortunate as that we have to end the date short, I understand.” Yeonjun said.
“But hey, we’re going on a second date so you’ll see me very soon.” Beomgyu said as he hugged Yeonjun. “Text me later okay?”
Yeonjun nodded as Beomgyu released his arms and left the bowling alley. As he walked back to his apartment, he received a message from Yeonjun.

Thank you for today, I had fun :)
Beomgyu smiled at the message.

No, thank YOU for today.
I honestly had so much fun, how does a picnic by the Han river sound?
I’ll give you the time tomorrow.

Sure, that sounds lovely.
Hope to hear from you tomorrow then.
As Beomgyu read the message, he texted Taehyun.

Today was great Taehyun!
And I even have a second date ;)
‘This feels great. Is this how a glance can begin a romance?’ Beomgyu thought as he smiled to himself, knowing this is the first chapter of a new romance he always wanted.
