Work Text:

The four of them have arrived in the manor at the same time. Greeting each other despite their difference. Luca and Victor went off greatly while Edgar and Andrew took time to be comfy with each other, but alas, they got together perfectly. With all their roles backing each other up, they made a great dynamic.

One day, Victor's dog named Wick, are able to wander on their own. They feel a strange aura somewhere in the manor, and so they got their little feet go to work and find the source of discomfort. As a loyal dog, of course they wanted their owner to know first. And so, when they found the source, they paw their owner to go follow them. Victor is curious with Wick as they don't always act like this and then he went off with Wick, of course apologizing first to them as they were talking their life before they went to the manor.

Victor tries to catch up with Wick, as they are more faster than him. And finally after a quick run, they made it to a locked door. Wick barks before the door, and it makes Victor having to shush them. The three of them heard their bark and came to where Victor and Wick are. Luca got an idea to open it with his tools although Andrew found a quicker solution: to kick the door open. Luca is a bit stunned from that but he quickly calmed down and act normally.

It's dusty and dirty. The corners of the room is covered in thick cobweb. Edgar is too scared to go inside so he stayed by the doorframe, checking the room for inspiration. The other three and Wick inspect the area to learn more about it. Wick instantly go to an object and Victor inspects it with them. Luca tries to search for item of interest, something that he can use. And Andrew thoroughly search the items to uncover the history behind it. Victor raises the broken violin that made Wick barked, and everyone's eyes are onto it. They all take turns on holding it. Luca recklessly touch it and surprisingly it didn't broke; Victor tries to touch the single string on it, only one note is played; Andrew brushes off the dust and cobweb from it, the dust made complaints from the other three; and Edgar keeps looking at it from every angle.

Despite all that, they decided to leave the violin alone, although it bothers Andrew and Edgar a bit. Edgar tries to recall a violinist with a unique characteristic but none came to mind. So they all brushed it off and sleep for the next day in their own room.

Wick couldn't sleep properly. The things that they are grateful is that they can freely wander and there's a small door built for them only on Victor's door. So they went out to wander once again in the night.

They smell the area, trying to find something suspicious of the manor. Voices came not too far from where they are so they decided to run to that place. It's Luca's door. They heard him singing a classical piece. Luca noticed the running so he opened the door and greet Wick, questioning why they are awake at this time. He wanted to give them a treat but sadly he doesn't have it in his place. Wick decided to stay at his room though. Luca tries to bring Wick back to Victor's room as he would be worried from Wick's sudden disappearance, but Wick kept struggling from his grasps and fell on the floor. He decided to keep Wick for the night, wondering why the little dog feel the urge to stay with him.

The next day, Victor searched Wick of course. Luca always wake up late so the other three had to knock on his door. Finally they are awake, with the help of Wick's pounce too. Wick and Victor finally got reunited once again. He's curious why the little dog ran to Luca's room and the other suspects it's the violin. But of course Edgar doesn't believe in it. He just thinks that it bothers Wick and nothing more. But Victor knew more from experience, same as Andrew. So after breakfast, all three decided to inspect the violin once again.

When they get back to the storage room, the violin is gone. All of them are flabbergasted. All of them searched the whole room but couldn't find any traces of the violin. Wick couldn't even sense it.. Luca tries to make light of the situation but it didn't work. Edgar is more vulnerable to this feeling so he's more worried but he tries to hide it. He excuses himself to go to the kitchen to drink some wine to keep his worry down but all it does is making him hear a voice that haunts him. A voice of a violin. He screamed. Everyone catches up to him, seeing him drunk, crying, and afraid. Lying down on the floor while covering his ears. He muttered something but it wasn't clear to anyone's ears. Andrew carried him to his room to relax. The three of him accompany him in his room to help him calm down and finally he fell asleep. Perhaps this time Wick has to sleep in Edgar's room.

The next night, they are eating dinner. All of them decided to not drink any wine as it causes problems. The violin is still not found so all of them are full of worry and afraid. Luca suddenly had a stomach ache and excuses himself to go to the toilet, but really he just sneaks to drink a bottle of wine. As a curious person, he always wanted to know what Edgar feels.

He drank that wine until he's drunk. And he did heard a violin noises. He also heard a male voice leading him to a room with a violin in it. The voice tempted him to play it. He does have a record in playing classical instrument, so he wanted to give it a try. At first he was hesitant playing it as the string is only one. But the voice said he will instruct him to play it. And he played wonderfully. Too perfectly in fact. His hands keeps playing and playing, moving the bow against the string. Yet it creates multiple notes. The others, however, are afraid when looking at him. Nobody knew he can play the violin, and it's THE violin that they were searching for all this time. Andrew found the bottle of wine Luca was sneaking off in the bathroom, and Wick barked to his place, although even just hearing the violin's note can already pinpoint Luca's location.

Andrew shook Luca's shoulder, trying to snap him out of it. But Luca still plays unbothered. And then a hard slap echoes through the room, and he finally snapped out. Luca wonders how long he has been playing, realizing that everyone around him are worried and scared, especially Edgar. A sudden headache hits him suddenly and he passed out. Andrew again had to carry him to his room. And Wick sleeps in his room, twice now. Wine is now completely prohibited in the manor until the problem is resolved. The violin that Luca played with? Instantly gone. And now they just wait until one of them became a victim once more.

Next day, they all discussed about how to deal with the violin. Does somebody have to bait whatever haunting them with drinking wine? Or just wait for them to strike? Can they always depend on Wick to sniff the ghost out? Not long after, they heard a glass broken somewhere. Wick is the one to run while they all catch up. Edgar whines to just stay at his place but Victor begs him to come to make sure nothing happened to him. Edgar lose it when it comes to Victor so he came along. It made Victor smiled and Edgar shies away.

A wine bottle was found drunk and broken. They all know none of them could do it since they were literally together that time, so it must be the ghost's fault. All they have noted is that the ghost drinks wine and plays the violin. And they seemed aggressive. Considering the violin keeps disappearing, Luca suspects that it must be the ghost's weakness. He propose that when the violin appears, one of them should break it. It may seemed broken but it can be destroyed more. They all know that Edgar couldn't do it. He may be fast but he's not strong, same as Luca. So it's either Victor or Andrew.

At night, where they still sleep in their own room, Edgar couldn't sleep. And he couldn't depend on wine either or it makes his insomnia much more worse. So he decided to draw with his canvas. He closes his eyes and draw whatever that came to mind. He choses white and blue as his main color. White long hair, with blue tint in it's edge, ragged blue clothes that he can consider as fancy. And then a violin--

He opens his eyes and see what he just came up with. Someone familiar... Yet he still can't identify the person. He knew it's someone that he has met before. But he isn't sure exactly where. When he finishes the painting, thunder can be heard. Loud thunder that is really close to the manor The rain suddenly pours from the sky, and it pours HARD. Wick woke up from their sleep because of the thunder and they pounces to Victor who is still half asleep. Andrew went out from his room to check what happens outside. Blood. Bloody hand prints from the window following his step to meet with the other survivors. Luca somehow still asleep despite all the ruckus outside. He had to be pounced by Wick again to wake up. They don't seem to find Edgar though...

After calling his name for a few minutes, they can hear a violin once again. Andrew prepares his shovel to break it. Victor just prepares himself with his bag filled with letters. Luca looks like he's sleep walking, keeps yawning and almost fell asleep on the floor. Andrew braces himself before opening the door where they heard the noise; the hidden storage room. It's getting louder and louder. And before Andrew tries to turn the handle, the door opened itself; revealing Edgar floating and possessed. His painting is seen somewhere in the room. And it became another target to destroy. But first priority is Edgar. Edgar's voice is distorted and doesn't sound like him. Both Andrew and Victor tries to reason with the ghost that possessed him. The room suddenly shakes after the conversation, making Luca fully awake. All of them holds on until it calms down, and when it does, Andrew strikes the violin from Edgar's hands. But before he does, Wick already took care of the violin, making Edgar fall down too and passed out. His mouth is foamy but Andrew knew he's still alive. Victor and Luca tore down the painting, hopefully stopping the ghost's interference with their life.

Edgar got carried again to his room. All of them hoped this will be the last time. He's the one that seems to be affected the most. The least is Andrew. No more wine until Wick says it's fine. Wick truly saved all their lives. And for a week, Wick is given more treats than they usually given. Edgar seems to recover from the possession, with Andrew leading the prayer to protect him from the ghost again.

The terror may be over for now but who knows something will haunt them again...
