Work Text:

The sky was a brilliant blue with not a cloud in the sky, the sun shining brightly. It was a perfect day to sit on the balcony with a good book, coffee, and some finger food. Francis was doing exactly that. He had a day off and wanted to spend it in the sun relaxing. The only thing that would make it better was if a certain woman was by his side, but alas she was at home running errands. She typically did that on Fridays. It was the day to do the household shopping, cleaning, and laundry. Of course she got her brothers to help her, but she was the eldest so she was in charge, ordering them on what to do and how to do it. Francis sighed a small bit and returned to his book.

Around three in the afternoon, he had run out of his coffee so he had to go to the kitchen to make some more. As it was brewing, Francis heard a key slide into the front door, unlocking it. Did he get a bit too excited? Of course he did, there was only one person he gave a key to his house. "Blair! Ma moitié, what are you doing here? Isn't it errands day?" He turned around to greet her with a smile, but it quickly faded as he noticed she was very upset. It looked like most of her eye makeup had been cried off. Blair had a suitcase with her and he could tell she wanted to stay with him for a while, not that he minded in the slightest.

"Oh, darling. Come here, I've just put a pot of coffee on to brew. Tell me what happened." The blonde moved some hair from his eyes and opened his arms. Blair kicked off her flats and set the suitcase down before rushing over to hug Francis as tightly as she could. As soon as she hugged him, she started to cry again. How cruel those brothers of hers could be sometimes. He rested his head on top of hers and started to rub her back gently.

"Those stupid fuckin' boys!" Blair buried her face in Francis' shoulder. "I wanted to sleep in today, asked 'em to start their laundry and cleaning without me, but was anything done? No! Rhys went to his house to go play with the sheep, but without telling anyone! Shay and Arthur went to a football match and are probably getting blootered right now. No idea where the hell Peter's gone off to. And I called Darragh to see if he'd help me but he told me to 'quit being dramatic' and 'it's not that bad, you can just do the errands yourself' and 'that's quite fine because girls love doing the errands, don't they'!"

She let out a frustrated scream into his shoulder and he sighed. When her brothers were all back at the UK house, he'd have a chat with them. "And now they can fuckin' suffer with no clean clothes and no food in the house because I'm gonna go stay with someone who actually fuckin' respects me!" Blair's grip on Francis got tighter.

Blair was typically quite level headed and didn't get that upset as often in the modern times so it broke Francis' heart to see her so upset. He let her continue to rant and cry, rubbing her back to try and comfort her till she stopped crying and went silent. She kept her face in his shoulder and her grip on him was still tight. It was a little bit longer till she pulled away. All her eye makeup was smudged around her eyes now, and her eyes were still glossy. "Sorry 'bout yer shirt. My eyeliner n' mascara got on it." Her head was turned away a bit, her blue eyes gazing at the coffee pot.

Francis gently took her chin and turned her face towards his. "It's not a problem at all, I can clean it easy." He gave her a small smile before leaning in and kissing the top of her head. "Now, let's go put your things upstairs and clean up a bit. We can spend the day doing whatever you'd like. I will even order whatever you want to eat." He pulled away and took her hand in his before leading her to the front door so he could grab her suitcase. It was a bit heavy which meant that Blair probably packed enough things for two weeks at least. Not to mention that some of her clothes and accessories were already in Francis' closet from the countless other times she had come to stay with him.

They got to Francis' room and Blair let go of his hand and sat on his bed as he put her suitcase by the closet. He then took off his shirt and took it to the bathroom. Grabbing a can of hairspray and spraying the smudged makeup with enough to make the area damp before hanging it up to let it dry. He grabbed his brush before leaving the bathroom and heading over to Blair. Francis sat behind her and set the brush down before reaching up and starting to pull the hair pins from her bun. Taking the last one out, and setting it in the neat pile of pins, the bun unraveled into a regular ponytail and that was taken out as well. Blair's long orange hair fell down and hit the bed, it was time to brush her hair. The two of them had done this thousands of times before, yet it still managed to be comforting to them both.

The blonde gently took the orange hair in his left hand, and the brush in his right, starting from the bottom and working his way up. He hummed a song as he worked on her hair, and could tell by how her shoulders fell, that Blair was feeling better and smiling now. He finished off brushing her hair and she leaned back into him. He loosely wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head. "You're the best. I love you so much, you silly and romantic Frenchman."

Francis smiled more. "I learned romance from only the best." He leaned in and kissed the base of her neck. "And besides, there's no one that I love more than you, so of course I'd do anything for you. You are the stars in the night sky, to guide me on my path. The light at the end of the tunnel. My oasis in the desert." After every praise, Francis pressed another kiss to her neck. Blair shivered and whacked his arm. He laughed a bit and kissed again before pulling away. "Come my love, take a shower then meet me in the living room. We can spend the day snuggling on the couch."

Blair reluctantly left Francis' arms. "Alright, make me a coffee?" She stood up from the bed and took off her cardigan before continuing to undress. Francis had to peel his gaze away from her as he nodded. She went into the bathroom as he went to his closet to get changed. Once he was in lounge clothes and his hair was tied up, he went downstairs to the kitchen.

As he was getting their coffees made, he got a text from Arthur. It was full of spelling mistakes which proved he was drunk, but the gist of his message was asking where Blair went. Francis sighed and ignored the text, it wasn't worth his time or energy to argue with a drunken Englishman. His phone continued to blow up however he continued to ignore it, eventually just turning the device off. Soon, Blair came into the kitchen. Her wet hair was in a towel and she was wearing one of Francis' few t-shirts and her pyjama shorts. Coming up behind Francis, she wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head on his back to hear his heartbeat. "You always make the best coffee." She stated before pulling away and taking her cup.

Francis took his cup as well and with his free arm, wrapped it around her shoulder and pulled her close to him as they walked to the couch. He sat down first and opened his arm for Blair to sit next to him. She did so and leaned into him, grabbing the throw blanket that lay on the couch and putting it over the two of them. As she did that, Francis turned on the tv and saw that Blair's favorite movie was on so he turned to that channel. Blair smiled and snuggled into Francis more. She loved times like these, where they just did nothing but sit together and watch tv. It was a nice break from their usually busy lives. Maybe this time around she'd stay a whole month, that way they could have more days like this (and also so her stupid brothers would learn the importance of being nice to your big sister).
