Chapter 1: Nightmares

Chapter Text

It was a cold and stormy night.

Lightning flashes lit up the night sky incessantly.

The hurricane-force winds roared nonstop, taking away objects such as hats, umbrellas, among other things.

The drops of water descended without stopping.

Each person was hurrying to shelter from the storm that had arisen.

Let's focus on a specific place; Avengers headquarters.

It was rebuilt a few months after the attack by the mad Titan and in which an epic fight for the fate of the universe took place.

Inside it we see the new (and some old) members that make up the avenging group in their respective rooms that were given to the members.

In one of those rooms, there are two people who are asleep. But if you look closely, one of them was sweating and making jerky movements, turning from side to side on the bed.

In that, that person wakes up, standing up simultaneously with a sharp cry. Not knowing that little tears were slipping down her cheeks.

This person begins to turn his head around the room he was in.

"Wanda, are you okay? What happened?" Sitting up quickly, and revealing the young adult name, the other person who had been woken up by the shout given earlier, asked about her status. Her concern for the tone of voice she used was notable.

Wanda, hearing her voice, turned her head to the right. Only to find some hazelnut orbs looking at her with great concern.

Without wasting time, the woman pounced towards the person and began to hug him hard, but not to the point of hurting him.

"Peter...sniff...you're fine. I thought something had...sniff...happened to you." He mentioned the woman with scarlet powers. Starting to sob on her boyfriend's shoulder.

"Don't worry, it was just a bad dream. It wasn't real, I'm safe and sound." The brown-haired man tried to reassure her, he separated a little from her hug to wipe the path of tears that had descended on her smooth cheeks, and then returned from her to hug her again.

Peter only limited himself to rubbing her back, giving her a few kisses on her forehead and whispering reassuring words in her girlfriend's ear.

They were like that for several minutes until the orange-haired woman with emerald orbs calmed down.

"Better?" asked the young with spider powers.

"Yeah, thanks...I needed it." Breaking away from the hug. He thanked Wanda to the chestnut for having comforted her.

"You don't have to thank me, like I promised you when we started our relationship; I'm never going to leave you alone." Her telling him there was no need to thank. Peter placed his two hands on her girlfriend's cheekbones, to later remind her of the promise he had told her earlier.

Wanda raised the corners of her lips at what her boyfriend heard. Leaning her head in front of her and closing her eyes, she brushed lips against his chestnut brown.

After a few minutes they separated from the kiss but without stopping connecting glances with each other.

"So honey...what happened to me in your nightmare?" Feeling curious, May Parker's nephew asked the young adult from Sokovia.

She looked down at her, lightly biting her lower lip, wondering if it's a good idea to tell her what she had dreamed of.

The Parker to see her behavior, intertwined her hand with her little one giving her a squeeze, as a sign of support.

"I dreamed... that you were being killed." Taking a deep breath, and looking into her eyes, she answered Peter's question.

"Ahh, but...how?" Opening his eyes in shock and not knowing exactly what to say to what his partner said. Peter was barely able to formulate another question.

"I saw how a group of people who seemed to be villains were killing you in a...slow and painful way." Continuing to tell part of his nightmare only to tell the last part in a broken way, if the tone of voice of the woman he acquired meant anything.

"Don't worry, that didn't happen. I'm here with you." Listening to Maximoff's tone of voice. He rushed over to him to hug her and place a chaste kiss on her girlfriend's orange hair.

"Worst of all, I couldn't do anything to stop it. I was wrapped in a cocoon of cobwebs and for some reason I couldn't use my powers to free myself." Still in the embrace, she expressed herself in a frustrated and helpless tone, Scarlet Witch.

"And who were those people?" Caressing her hair with her sinister hand, she formed a question mark again, showing how curious she was about her, Peter.

"I...I don't know. Those people were so blurred that I couldn't recognize them." Breaking away from the hug, Wanda frowned showing how focused she was, only to finally resign herself to it.

"Okay. Good thing it was just a bad dream, no need to worry." Trying to comfort her and take away the bad thoughts that the female had of her, Peter dismissed.

"But that dream felt so real, Peter. I don't want to lose you as well as the other people who were important to me." Remembering all the tragedies she suffered throughout her life, the sister of the late Pietro Maximoff commented.

"Easy. You know I'm a hard person to kill." Spidey mentioned gesticulating a lopsided grin.

"Yes, I know that perfectly. You are a stubborn person" Wanda Maximoff said, giggling.

"Well, you know me very well. Besides, if for some reason that happens, I have you who will always have my back like I do for you, and our companions." Putting his two hands on the shoulders of the emerald orb girl, the brunette commented with a sincere smile.

"Yes, you're right darling." Wanda said, returning the smile.

"Alright, I think we should go to bed. We don't want to wake the others, well if they haven't already because of the scream." Rubbing his neck with his right hand, Peter reminded Scarlet Witch that her companions might have woken up.

"Oh no. I hope not, the last thing I want is for them to listen to me." Wanda mentioned, putting both of her hands up to hide her embarrassed blush.

The nephew of the late Ben Parker giggled at the action of his girlfriend, seeming cute.

"Hey, don't laugh at me!" Patting the boy's left arm, Wanda exclaimed in a low voice so the others wouldn't hear.

"I'm sorry, your previous action just made me a little cute." Raising his arms in surrender, the brunette tried to explain.

Wanda had an imperceptible blush at Spidey's explanation. Although, since they began her relationship, he said beautiful things to her and did affectionate actions for her, they made her feel so good, it was impossible for her to get used to it.

"Okay. Come on, we have to go to bed now." Giving her partner a short kiss on the lips, Wanda lay down on her bed to later make a move with her right hand so that she would lie down next to her.

Peter immediately slept with her, then put a blanket over the couple.

He turned to the left side, he was facing the girl with scarlet powers.

"Rest, Wanda" Peter said, giving her a kiss on her forehead and putting her right arm around her waist, before closing her eyelids.

"So are you, Peter." Wanda smiled.

Wanda, she stared at the face of the young whose powers were given by a radioactive spider bite, for several seconds that turned into minutes, memorizing each feature of the choco so as never to forget it.

After a few minutes, she promised herself that she would protect Peter, in the face of any threat. She wasn't going to let someone separate him from her. The woman has lost and suffered a lot in her life, she couldn't bear to lose him too.

When they started to have a relationship, they have had a very deep and strong connection between them, than their old relationships. Even

Wanda was surprised by that, she believed that she would not have a connection that deep if it wasn't for Vision, but she was wrong.

Giving Parker a peck of kisses on the nose, she made up her mind to fall asleep.

But still in her mind to fulfill that promise that she had made earlier.
