Lawyers of Santa Monica

Summary:

Piecing together a legal deal is easier than being with Pepper.

Wearing anything Lady Gaga wore is easier than being with Kiara.

Opposite personalities trying to help a case in court.

Work Text:

In Pepper’s cubicle, she toyed with an Overwatch Reaper figurine. She chewed her gum and it clicked as she waited for her server department transfer to come through. Her shoes scuffed her desk. The sound of heels gracefully tapping the tile floor.

‘I’ve been waiting for you, you know, Pepper,’ Kiara stated, adjusting her folders and loose papers.

So neat and intricate.

Exactly who Kiara was.

Pepper took the gum from her mouth and stuck it on Kiara’s vital papers. ‘No, I didn’t know. But what’cha need?’

With a cold stare, Kiara responded with, “I need you in my office. Needed,” she corrected, “but you can come in now.”

Pepper checked her P.C., her mesh black office chair covered in stickers spun back to face Kiara. ‘Miss. Page, we have o talk about your department move. You’re moving to a higher position.” Pepper groaned. “Ew. Interactive work,” Pepper pouted.

“You can call it that.”

“ That requires movement right? Is my insurance covering this. Ew.”

An awkward silence fell. The brunette stood up from her chair, a huge smiley sticker visible on the apron of the chair, and proceeded to turn around and fell backwards.

“Ooh! Trust fall! Catch me Kia!”

She’s so laidback and open for her job.

Talk about her personality.

Kiara shifted her papers into her left arm and used her right hand to catch Pepper’s back, gripping her blouse.

“Cut it out,” Kiara demanded in a stern voice with an indomitable face. “I’m trying to have fun, geez.”

“How did you ever become a lawyer?”

“Harvard, Monday 9 o’clock, back row.”

Pepper headed to Kiara’s office space with a smile.

“She’s such a joy.”
