the delinquent and her dear girlfriend

Summary:

In which Mokou gets injured from her quarrels and bickerings with another and her beloved Kaguya tends to her wounds.

Work Text:

“Ah, Mokou! Got into a fight again?”

Kaguya's voice pierced through the delinquent's thoughts, snapping her out of her mindless cycle. Eyeing the bruises and scratches covering her arms as well as the small cut on her lip, she turned to face the white-haired girl's crimson eyes, her tone conveying the sheer concern she held for her lover.

“Hey, they're only bruises and all, right?” she brushed it off, catching a glimpse of her loosely bandaged hand. Upon poking one of her wounds, however, she would hiss like an angered cat as she did so. “Khh... They hurt a little, but it's not like I need to patch them up…”

“You're injured, though,” the other girl stammered out, standing up to take hold of the first aid box nearby. “How did you even get these kinds of injuries?”

“Nothing too serious, really. Just... a few punches here and there, and... I don't remember. Oh, and that one's a cat scratch.”

With a loving sigh escaping her lips, the brilliant beauty unlocked the small container, her hand grasping a bottle of rubbing alcohol before letting it slip from her fingers and settle in the table between them. Twisting the bottle open, she shook a droplet of the liquid onto a gauze pad, brushing it over the wounds. A silent, almost inaudible hiss escaped the fiery student's lips, followed by the gritting of her teeth as she tried to muffle a groan.

She then moved to inspect the bruises on her knees, some of them came along with a couple of dents from a fight she had taken on. Not wanting to have to talk about the incident, the young lady continued her actions, rubbing another alcohol pad over the injury. Grabbing a piece of cloth, she gently wiped the last traces of it away, the faint stains of blood now gone with the liquid's effects.

“Does it still hurt?” Kaguya murmured, moving to sit beside the taller one out of the two of them. “I'm pretty sure this should help with the wounds.”

“Nah, not really.” Moving her right leg as if kicking the air in front of her, a nearly unnoticeable aching sensation stung from her bruised knee. “Actually, it still hurts a little. I'll go bandage it myse-”

“Can I do that for you?”

Lifting a brow in surprise, Mokou quickly chuckled, a giggle emitting from her. How happy she was to have such a caring, affectionate girlfriend; one who would gladly take care of her during days like this. Despite their friendly rivalry at times, they would never cease to remain by each other's side.

It was as if they were fated to be with one another. How sweet.

Nodding, she rested a chin on her palm, grinning ever so slightly under the faltering afterglow's light.

“Go ahead.”

As the young lady started to wrap the elastic bandages around her arms and knees, the taller's entire demeanor changed. She watched as her dearest's brow furrowed for the briefest moment while staring at her wound, before focusing on the covering material once again. How adorable, she thought. What a wonderful girlfriend.

Using the last of the tape to secure the bandage around her slightly damaged hand, Kaguya contently looked at her beloved, a loving sigh from her as she leaned closer to the bandaged hand.

Without thinking, she held Mokou by the wrist and kissed her palm. Not too hard, of course. Just a gentle, fluttering touch, one that made her face turn ever so brightly with the million shades of red that dyed her face.

“Y-you…”

Covering her face with a hand over her mouth and nose, she tried to hide her reddening cheeks, nervously stammering out those words with a softly trembling voice.

And it wasn't long before the young lady gazed upon the other's features, her cheeks now tinted with a slight hue of pink. She seemed to be enjoying this quite a lot. The sight of a flustered Mokou appeased her very soul, and she couldn't help but to giggle at the other's appearance.

“Cute,” Kaguya teased. “I like that kind of face you're making, Mokou.”

Softly laughing along with the afternoon breeze's sigh, Mokou shifted to pull herself closer to the latter's figure, who wrapped her arms around her girlfriend in a harsh embrace. Lightly touching the black strands of hair, Kaguya's eyes gazed back at her, a sweet, warm chuckle eliciting from the girl.

“We're even now,” she added as she placed her chin atop the other's head. “I won't let you catch me off-guard again.”

Kaguya giggled in response, nuzzling herself into the crook of Mokou's neck, as if agreeing with that offer of hers. The soothing warmth they shared was truly a wonderful feeling, one she would never truly feel with anyone else. Before she knew it, the beauty's chin was now leaning against the fiery girl's shoulder, peacefully resting as she glanced at the sunset outdoors.

One thing that she knew for sure, was that Mokou was her one and only, her beloved, her trust, her love, her everything.

“I hate you, Kaguya,” whispered Mokou as she lied, her consciousness slowly slipping away, making her drift off into a gentle slumber.

It was when she had fallen asleep that the other finally whispered back.

“I love you, too, Mokou.”
