The Marauders Chronicles Year 1

Summary:

I am going to try to write my own version of the marauders! Some of it may have information from MsKingBean89 who wrote All The Young Dudes. For that I am sorry, I have not read their work in a year and am trying to make this original. Some of the info here may be loose from the harry potter cannon and that is because I am trying to have fun writing it. Hope everyone enjoys!

Chapter 1: Remus, Peter, and tears

Chapter Text

As Remus laid on his death bed, next to his wife who he was so surprised to be married to. His life did flash before his eyes. Being bitten at five by none other than Fenrir Greyback. He had some childhood memories of basically being locked inside. Then his life was changed forever by a headmaster named Albus Dumbledore once he was able to persuade Remus's parents into letting him go to Hogwarts. Little did he know this would cause his sudden death and painful yet somewhat amazing life.

"Mwah! Hope you have an amazing year at school!" Hope kissed Remus on the cheek for the seventh time by now.

"Thanks mum, but I really got to go on the train to actually arrive at the school." Remus responded with a small smile.

"Yeah Hope. Let's just let the boy go." Lyall then bent down to Remus, "Remember. During that time, you"

"See the Headmaster to walk me to where I transform" Remus droned.

"Exactly!" Lyall tried to give a reassuring smile, "If Headmaster Dumbledore believes that you can go to school then so can we."

Remus smiled, "Thanks dad."

"Okay, now board that train!"

Remus nodded and ran to the Hogwarts express, "Bye mum bye dad!"

"Bye!" They waved as Hope cried.

A few minutes earlier another family entered.

"Wow, walking through a wall to get here. Very secretive.. Lily let's just go home huh?" A woman’s voice chimed through the air.

"Honey it's fine," Lily's dad responded, "She's got that Severus boy to help her. And he's been teaching her about magic for years."

"Yeah, that's true," Lily's mother Mallory sighed, "Just be careful okay?" She bent down to Lily.

"Of course, I will mom. And if anything bad happens, I got magic!"

Mallory chuckled and fluffed Lily's hair, "Mommm!" Lily whined.

"Now come on," Lily's dad Bobby responded, "Be nice, you won't see her til Christmas."

Lily nodded but pouted. Then she looked over at her sister Petunia to see if she will say any kind of goodbye, but all that she saw was more pouting.

Bobby noticed their expressions and turned his face to her, "Hey Tuney do you wanna say anything to wish your sister off?"

"No, I would not. I don't wanna say anything to that freak," Petunia turned her face away.

"Now Tuney that is not so.." but it was too late. Lily ran onto the train in tears.

Once Remus got onto the train he bumped into a small and chubby boy as he fell over.

“Oh um I am so sorry!” Remus exclaimed and held out his hand hoping that he did not have to socialize so fast and have a compartment to himself. But this awkward situation may keep him from getting one.

“No I should be sorry!” The boy took his hand and got up, “I am so clumsy that walls have tripped me. And I am not kidding.”

“I was the one who was looking at the floor though! And I am clumsy too.” Remus pointed at the scratches on his face. Yeah this was a good idea. People can just suspect him of being clumsy instead of being a werewolf.

“Golly I’ve never seen scratches like those. Where did those come from?” Then he looked down and fiddled with his hands, “If you do not mind me asking of course.”

“Oh um,” Remus did not think ahead, “Fell, I fell in the woods. Ya see my family lives near this woodsy area and I fell on a walk.” At least Remus was not lying about living in a woodsy area.

“Oh, wow must be painful. Oh! Forgot to introduce myself! Peter Pettigrew!” Peter held out his hand.

“Remus Lupin,” he held out his and they shook.

Peter seemed nice enough and so did Remus. They both shared a compartment with two seventh years.

“I’ll hex her!”

“No Sev you don’t need to.”

“Then what should I do? Why tell me then?” Severus replied as he and Lily walked off the train.

“Just listen and hold my hand. I just told you that because I need someone who understands the situation to be there for me.”

“Okay Lily.” Severus held Lily’s hand while she gave a smile.

“Woahhh!” Remus and Peter responded to the castle as they approached the lake in front of it, the Great Lake.

“That castle is hugeee!” Peter gaped at the school, “Even off at a distance it is so big!”

“Dumbledore was not lying.” Remus said to himself.

“You spoke to Dumbledore?” Peter turned to him, “Are you a muggle born? I don’t mind if you are.”

“Oh no,” Remus shook his head, “A half-blood actually. It’s just I never thought that I could go to this school. So, Dumbledore had this special talk with my parents.”

“Why?”

“Hmm?”

“Why did you not think you could go to this school? You don’t have to answer if it’s too personal.”

“No, it’s fine. It’s just that I was a bit behind on magic. Did not show any of it actually, until soon before the headmaster visited actually. But he saw potential in me, and I think I’m caught up now.” Remus smiled as the two walked up to a boat and carefully stepped into it.
