Nami had been a loner all her life. That is, until she met Sanji. He was from a great family, but was just so loud. She took him aboard because he looked so cool. And always being alone was taking its toll on her… She wanted to be surrounded by people she actually liked.
But with only her to entertain him, keeping Sanji amused was hard work. He had so much energy and was so loud. Nami didn’t have time to work on her maps anymore. Maybe she should get someone for him to play with…

And that’s how she ended up in this large city, just wandering around. All of a sudden a black and white blur ran by her, followed by guards chasing and yelling at the guy. With nothing better to do, she joined the chase. When she finally caught the guy, all the other guards had given up, so Nami decided to take the kid in and named him Law… Because he was running from the law.
Law was tiny when Nami found him, so she tried to make sure he was well fed, which Sanji also appreciated. These kids… so food focused.

Law and Sanji loved to play together, and Nami was content with the two of them keeping her company… But she was already in the middle of looking at another kid from a very nice family to adopt when she found Law. Not wanting to abandon him, she went through with the adoption, and that’s how she found herself with 3 kids.

‘Why is he here again?’ Nami thought when she paused her drawing of a new island. Next to her was Zoro. He was a loner like she was, yet he also seemed to want attention and affection. But instead of just walking up to her like the other two, he’d nap next to her, just out of her reach. ‘Well, at least he’s not as rambunctious as the others, even if he is a bit odd.’

“I heard they’re shutting that orphanage down.”
“What? No way. Where would all the children go?”
“They’re just going to ditch them in the streets… No one wants to adopt children with black hair after all.”
“Hopefully someone will before they close down, aren’t there not that many children there in the first place?”
Not being able to withstand the gossip in the cafe any longer, Nami paid for her tea and left, heading to where the orphanage was. No way would she just abandon someone in need when she could help. Plus she was sure her boys would love someone else to play with.
And that’s how Luffy came to join them.

“Nami! Nami Nami Nami~ Hey Nami pay attention to me!” Sanji was always loud and talkative, but he was being particularly so today. “Nami, come play with me! Come on Nami.”
“I’m trying to make dinner here Sanji, go play with Law and Luffy.”
“Food? You’re making food Nami? Food just for me? Thank you Nami! I can’t wait till it’s ready, I’m going to stay here until then. I just can’t wait for food!”
“It’s not just for you Sanji…” Nami sighed.
“It’s so nice that you’re making food just for me Nami. It feels like it’s been days since I last ate. I’m so hungry, I want food.” This was going to be a long dinner prep…
“What? Nami’s making food for me!?”
“No, me!”
“No, me!”
*facepalm*

Nami was enjoying one of her few peaceful moments in the shower when she heard knocking at the door.
“It’s occupied!” She called out.
“Oh, It’s Nami! I found her guys!” She could hear footsteps outside the door as everyone gathered around. She heard them try the knob and she was so glad she remembered to lock it.
“Nami! Let us in! We want some love.” She heard them whine and plead, like they’d die if she didn’t open the door and pet their heads right this second. She’d feel bad, but they did this every time she went to the bathroom…

It was another nice, sunny day out at sea. Nami was out on deck relaxing, Zoro was sleeping in the corner like usual, Luffy had curled up around Nami, and Sanji and Law were playing tag together. All of a sudden the boat lurched, and pirates were boarding! Nami must’ve dozed off for a bit to not have noticed those rats of the sea approach.
“Don’t worry, I got this!” Law went around beating every one of the pirates up, only letting Sanji help with a few. Zoro had woken up with interest, but Law had growled at him for thinking of taking away some of his fun. When the fight was over, Law presented the beaten pirates to Nami proudly.
“Good job as usual Law. Now, who wants food?”
“I do!”
“I do!”
“I do.”
“You didn’t do anything Zoro!”
“So? I still want food.”
Luffy got up reluctantly. “I guess I can eat…”
Nami got them all food before disposing of the pirates.
“Man, they sure know how to catch them, but not how to throw them away.”

It was bedtime for everyone. Nami always fed them before going to bed, so they’d eat then join her. Of course she had gotten beds of their own for everyone, but they rarely used them.
Zoro would always steal the pillow next to her, or find a spot near her feet at the very corner of the bed. She’d accidentally nudged him off too many times to count.
Sanji liked to steal her pillow, so she’d only get to use a small corner of it. Sometimes he’d choose to sleep on her back, right between her shoulder blades. She couldn’t move at all then.
Law and Luffy almost always cuddled up together, either against Nami’s hip or somehow squeezing between her legs. Usually Luffy would settle down first, and Law would curl around him or just plop on top of him. Nami always worried about Luffy being able to breathe when Law did that. But some nights Law would get there first and Luffy wouldn’t be able to settle down, fighting Law over where to sleep. She’d always give them a good whap on the head to shut them up so the rest of them could sleep. It always worked.
