Work Text:
Today Remus has come to the library alone, without the invisibility cloak. Instead of sneaking to the Restricted Section so as to locate more books about Animagi, he's stayed in his favourite nook, hunched over an authoritative treatise on categorically savage beasts, including descriptions of his kind of monsters.
He closes his eyes, feeling sick. He should convince his friends to give up the project.
There's such a cautious touch on his shoulder that he's barely startled.
"Look! My parents would hate to know..." Sirius grins, spreading on the table what he's bought with the gold meant for a fancy traditional cloak fitting for a respectable pureblood.
"That's the special parchment...?"
"With special sensitivity for obscuring and resurrecting ink. And some superior ink for you to use on it."
"For?"
"For anything you want. First of all, for our secret records. In your superior handwriting. Let's start!" Sirius is already dipping a quill in the shiny emerald ink. "I dictate."
Having handed over the quill, he caresses the scar on Remus's wrist, leans close, and starts whispering in his ear.
"This is to record for future generations what was done for and inspired by someone who was more than human."
