Lost for Words

Summary:

The way to Chan's heart is Changbin. (or: Changbin just wants some cuddles before bed)

Based on their 2 kids room where Chan said Changbin would come into his room late at night, get in bed with him, and turn on the aegyo.

Notes:

I have not known peace since their 2 kids room, so this is me just trying to placate the absolutely feral part of myself that needs more soft binchan.

Work Text:

Chan doesn’t bother turning the lights on when he gets home. The kids seem to be asleep, or at least quietly absorbed in whatever they’re doing in their rooms, so he slips into the shower without a word. He doesn’t know how long he stands in there, but the hot water loosens the tension in his shoulders. He imagines it swirling down the drain with the suds from his body wash.

When he finally gets out, he towels off and crawls straight into bed, sighing in satisfaction as his spine straightens against the soft memory foam. There’s really nothing like lying down on your back after a day of sitting at a desk, he thinks.

That is, until he hears his door knob turn.

***

Changbin had been lying in bed, just staring up and wondering if having ceiling decor would make these late nights more interesting, when he heard footsteps outside his door. It’s the perfect time, he reasons internally as he sits up. He knows he won’t be asleep anytime soon, at least not without some help. Plus, the weather has been cooling down recently. Neither he nor Chan is short on body heat, but, as they say, ‘tis the season or whatever.

He wraps a plush blanket around his shoulders like a cloak and creeps over to the door next to his. A loud groan greets Changbin as soon as he pokes his head in.

“Hyung,” Changbin whines, using his cringiest aegyo voice to draw out the end of the word. He steps into Chan’s room with a little wiggle that he knows Chan finds adorable.

Chan groans again, drawing his covers over his head and curling in on himself. “Go away,” he grumbles.

“Hyung,” Changbin whines again, breaking off with a laugh when Chan thrashes around under the blanket.

“Binnie is lonely,” Changbin says in the cutest voice he can muster, hamming up the pout when Chan pulls the covers down a little, so just his eyes peek out. Chan quickly throws them back over his head.

“You can’t get to me this time. I’m tired and it’s too late for you to be doing aegyo,” he says.

Changbin climbs onto the bed anyway, wrapping himself around Chan like a koala from on top of the covers. “Don’t you love me, Channie hyung?” he coos, squeezing as Chan struggles under him.

Finally, Chan gives up, and Changbin grins. Victory had been assured just by nature of who Chan is, but that doesn’t make it any less satisfying. He slips under the covers, draping his blanket over the top. Chan’s deadpan expression doesn’t fool him. “Binnie just wanted a cuddle,” he says with his best puppy eyes.

“Gah, put those away,” Chan says, covering Changbin’s eyes, but not before Changbin sees the beginning of a smile.

Changbin laughs for real. “You love me,” he coos again, pulling Chan’s hand away and making kissy faces at him. Before Chan can push him away, though, Changbin stops and pulls one of Chan’s arms over his waist, nestling in so his head is cushioned on Chan’s other bicep.

Chan just exhales a quiet laugh. “Sure, Binnie. I love you,” he whispers. His breath is warm against Changbin’s forehead, and his other hand comes up to stroke Changbin’s hair, down from the crown of his head to curl gently at the nape of his neck.

Changbin’s smile stays hidden against Chan’s collarbone, but he thinks Chan can feel it anyway.
