“We’re going to win” Hope said smiling as she raised her glass into the air in front of her, she couldn’t take her eyes off of Lizzie. Lizzie who looked back at her with a look that made Hope want to cry, she had so much faith in Hope, in her plan.
Not that she’d told anyone her real plan. It was hard, keeping up the mask she had donned for this celebration, especially when it was just to give everyone courage that things would turn out alright. That they would win.
As Hope continued to smile at Lizzie her mind wandered back to her first initial thoughts after seeing who was going to pull the trigger. The second she had put Lizzies name in and it had succeeded, even with such a small percentage she knew that the chances were, well, Lizzie was going to die.
And that is what had set Hope’s new rogue plan in action. Her one priority was to make sure Lizzie survives, even if she had to sacrifice herself, or someone else instead.
It was hard, not telling her, not telling Alaric that this might be the last happy moment they have together but her mind had been made up. And she knew that Lizzie would hate her for it, hate that she’d reverted back to martyr Hope.
But could you blame her? This was Lizzie Saltzman. Thinking back to the conversation they had on their way here, Hope had almost spilled, had almost confessed that she’d never let Lizzie die.
“Who would have thought that I’d live to see the day that Hope Mikaelson didn’t rush in haphazardly and sacrifice herself”
Lizzie had no idea just how on the nose she had been. Lizzie knew her better than anyone, Hope would bet her life on it.
“Oh well there’s still time”
She hadn’t been joking, there was always time when it came to saving Lizzie’s life.
