They say there are three stages in a relationship:
-The romance phase, also known as the honeymoon phase, is a four-month period in which everything feels like a dream and you gaze at your lover with stars in your eyes.
-
The conflict or doubt period, when things begin to take a strange turn, when you begin to know your partner and may end up loathing most of their behaviours or falling more for them, but most of the time it's realisation. Recognizing that this isn't going to work.
-When you have passed the first two levels, you will enter the commitment phase. Committing to anything is difficult; committing to a relationship demands too much, and this is the stage at which you end up falling in love with them, the stage at which you discover a balance of love and conflict and enjoy it in your daily life.
//
Kai says it's absolutely ridiculous and Beomgyu nods in agreement.
Who are they to determine how long their honeymoon phase will endure, who are they to say whether or not they will have the "conflict phase"?
He and Beomgyu have been dating for four years and are still in the honeymoon phase. He recalls how happy they were when they first started dating. It was surreal.
He would merely stare at Beomgyu while holding his hands. Beomgyu's touch would leave him stoned, and each kiss would send him higher than he'd ever been. It was mindlessly obeying Beomgyu, and even when he was in charge, Beomgyu was guiding him. Being with Beomgyu was like always being high while remaining sober.
He was always high on kissing Beomgyu, kissing him all over, kissing him on the neck, hands, arms, legs, and stomach.
It was always both overwhelming and soothing.
There were evenings when they were so engrossed in each other that they had no notion when the night had passed or when the morning had risen. Words were not said in such situations because their mouths were too busy kissing. Their eyes spoke in such moments, and they said huge words, big coherent words.
Everything was a blur of pleasure and giggles, and it was moments like those when their eyes expressed the same emotion, the same words, they were both so in love with each other, every minute with Beomgyu felt like being out of his head and his body feeling so light, and he has no idea how Beomgyu does it, but he has spoiled, ruined Kai for life because no one holds much importance for Kai as long as the world has Beomgyu.
When Beomgyu wanted to be extremely sensitive, when the lightest of kisses would make him curl his toes, it was nights like these when Kai would be more rough, making sure that Beomgyu moaned and whimpered more. His hands would be more persistent, his kisses more demanding, his bites harsher, and Beomgyu would give him everything.
And it would keep him up all night, even under the shower, he would be in a buzz thinking of only Beomgyu. He was like an enigma.
And the more Beomgyu gave the more Kai wanted, and he wanted to give Beomgyu more and more and more. He wanted to know if Beomgyu felt just as gone as Kai and he didn't need to ask him the question because he could see it. He could see the way his pupils dilated, the way his back arched, the way he threw his neck back and he could literally just look at Beomgyu and wonder what more he can do, how much more he can do.
//
All he knew was that Kai was off his face in love with Beomgyu and it wasn't a sudden realisation. It was a fact, something stamped in his head, something permanent.
//
It's unusual for Beomgyu to wake up before Kai. On such days, he would prepare a lovely breakfast for them and accomplish some cleaning. But when he tried to get up today, Kai drew him back, keeping him securely in his place, the blanket covering their entire heads.
And Beomgyu can just give in because the warmth was welcoming and he didn't have the heart to reject.
He would just tickle Kai, mumble things to him and Kai being Kai would just hum to them.
"Come on wake up" he would whine but Kai would just tighten his grip saying a firm no and Being would just whine more, he would whine till Kai gave in and then he would just peck him on the head, nose, eyes, exasperated Kai would hold him still and kiss him on the lips and he would kiss him for as long as he wants.

It won't work for most people, but I wasn't meant to be for most people in the first place. This is how they fell in love, and this is how they stayed in love.
It felt like ice cream dates, water parks, and rain when I was in love with Beomgyu. It was cold, thrilling, and sweet. It was ideal. It was free, it was enjoyable, it reminded him of late-night runs to the convenience shop, kissing beneath the streetlight, it was like enjoying the simple things but in the form of a person.
