Out Of Luck

Summary:

Katuski confessed his feelings to Izuku.

Izuku did not comprehend and got blasted to the back of the classroom.
Katsuki finds out he can't be Izuku's lover when Kai came to pick Izuku up that day.
He has dangerous golden eyes with long lower eyelashes with thin eyebrows, Katsuki could say he is handsome.
Alas, he could tell Izuku was in love with the man, that he had no chance of getting with him this time.

Work Text:

Izuku and Katsuki were in the same classroom, as everyone headed out to enjoy the rest of their day after school.

Katsuki made Izuku stay behind for some unknown reason and Izuku feared he would get yelled at and punched or whatever. He was very for whatever impact, so he tightened his stomach beforehand.

"Do you need anything, Kacchan?” He managed to not stutter even though inside, he was terrified. Instead of responding, Katsuki clicked his tongue and scratched his scalp for a few seconds, before he looked up with a menacing glare. He managed to look Izuku in the eye, as well as Izuku held the courage for a few minutes before looking away.

'Cute’ Katsuki blushed a little. “You’re kinda red...Kacchan..?” Izuku gradually became nervous and he was worried he made him mad for no reason. “Shitty Deku. I love you...” He finally spoke. But unfortunately, it was barely above a whisper.

“Sorry, do you mind saying that again? I couldn’t hear..you..” Izuku quietly spoke, and he pulled Katsuki’s last straw without even realizing it.

Poor Izuku almost got a head injury from the blast Katsuki gave.

“Whatever! Shut up!” Katsuki said in an irritating tone and skedaddled his way out of the classroom, leaving Izuku at the back of the room blown away with a burned uniform.

He was a sobbing mess there, but he stood after a few minutes when his phone rang.

“Are you still inside?” A gentle but deep voice called when Izuku accepted the call on his cellphone.

"Yea, Kacchan had to talk to me but he barely said anything and stormed out of the class..I'll be out in 2 minutes, sorry to keep you waiting." Izuku completely forgot he was going to pick him up today.

"No worries, take your time" Then the call ended.

Izuku wiped his tears with the back of his palms and took some deep breaths before fast-walking out of the class to the entrance of the school.

Katsuki confessed his feelings to Izuku. And Izuku couldn’t even hear him? A damn shame. Katsuki was still in the school area, in the bathroom. He was splashing his face with water until suddenly he heard footsteps.

He guessed it was Izuku leaving the grounds, and thinks he should leave too. When he was close to the gate, he heard a very familiar voice. A voice he would never forget. But there is also another voice.

“What happened to your face?” Katsuki only stepped closer to the sound. There was an irritating burn on his gut that made him red. He was fuming with deep anger. Though he had anger issues, he never felt like this.

There, some tall lean, narrow built guy with a short-cut brown hair dude with a weird plague mask covering 80% of his face, a bizarre olive dark green bomber jacket with a thick purple fur collar, a white necktie and, and, whatever, that wasn’t what he was interested in right now.

The dude was holding Izuku’s face in HIS hands with a worried look plastered on his 20% remaining.

To respond, Izuku merely said it was nothing, saying it was his fault that he wasn’t careful enough.

But indeed, the light bruise was quite big on Izuku's left cheek, it was as if he were bleeding inside his skin.

“You know I hate to hurt you.” The man spoke, as he slowly took his right glove off his left hand.

With one swift touch, the bruise disappeared, and Izuku shivered from the jolt the touch gave.

He gently smiled and his eyes looked away from the golden irises. “Thank you, Kai!”

Katsuki could only watch as the two of them got into a black car, covered in absolute darkness, and he wondered if Izuku saw him behind the gates.

“W-what the fuck?” Katsuki stuttered for the first time in his life.

When he could no longer see the car, he ran to his home, and his heart throbbed with how gentlemanly the man was, and he probably couldn't be any of that.

He ran full speed until he saw the roof of his house. He was running out of breath by then and he felt like his mouth was very dry but he could sense that he was still drooling from the lack of breath.

He never thought he could be this hurt, thus, by a mere love confession he thought he would succeed.

He started to weep unusually silently, he didn't even know why he was crying.

He was sure last time he was capable of anything, everything, he even swore.

Katsuki wiped his tears and got an urge to beat the guy for stealing his Izuku. He was the problem to start, plus, he looks much older than the both of Katski and Izuku.

“Old geezer.” Katsuki sneered.

When Izuku woke up, he was in his room.

He still had his eyes closed, but he slowly opened them when his phone buzzed. He reached over his phone and grabbed it off the charger, and noticed it was just a few minutes away from two am.

He smiled when his notifications dropped before him.

You awake?

Izuku rolled to the other side, now facing the wall, and typed back.

Yea, I just did. I feel great, it’s been so long since I’ve slept this much.

She’s asleep though.

He added, and waited for some time, as he rolled on his back to face the ceiling and closed his eyes.

He didn’t have to wait another minute when his phone buzzed again.

Get ready beforehand and open the window. I will be there in a moment.

When he faced a bright screen, he shortly got up and grabbed some rubbing alcohol. He cleaned the window surface before opening it, letting the fresh air mix in with the stinging smell of alcohol.

He moved around and organized some stuff before patiently sitting on his bed until suddenly he heard a thud. Izuku shifted his head upwards, just to meet beautiful golden eyes sparkling before him.

It eventually stopped staring and the body shifted to meet Izuku’s.

“How’d you get up here?” The man only chuckled and patted Izuku’s hair.

“You always ask that, I just do.”

Izuku stayed in his bed and by the time his lover faced him, Izuku patted the spot next to him.

“Are you staying?”

The man spread his arms as he held Izuku smoothly till his back bounced a little on the bed.

“Whatever, lemme kiss you.” The man uttered before gently stroking Izuku’s curls and he leaned forward to meet Izuku’s big doe eyes in front of him.

Their foreheads touched each other as Izuku lightly smiled. The gap between their lips disappeared.

As usual, Katsuki found himself in the alleyway that night. It’s a go-to place whenever he wants to let go of some stream, but it seems like it’s not working tonight. What can you say? He couldn’t stop thinking about how affectionate that man was, almost, no, as if Izuku were his.

Why is he so mad about that nerd anyways? He definitely looks like a sugar daddy, he didn’t look much anyway, so what if he’s cute and hot at the same time? Did that spark Katsuki’s attention? No. Katsuki has no reason why he’s confusing himself.

He swore that he’s gonna rip that man’s balls off when he sees him again. But then again, why is he so jealous of that man? Katsuki held the urge to kick a soda can beside him.

It was already late at night, and he needed to get back or else he’d get a good scolding from his parents.

-

It felt disappointing not to see Izuku on this delightful morning, of course, Izuku would be terror-striken from yesterday’s unusual events.

Izuku still wanted to hear what Katsuki wanted to say, so he gathered up his courage and planned to tell him what he was going to say yesterday.

Again, school ended a few minutes ago, and Katsuki couldn’t make ANY eye contact with Izuku at that moment.

He was too shy at first, but Izuku gradually calmed down and asked away. “Uhm, so you wanted to say something to me yesterday…B-but I’m sorry I couldn’t hear you, d-do you mind if you could please tell me what you were trying to say?”

Izuku’s voice started out normal, then it gradually became smaller and at the end of the sentence, you could barely hear anything but mumbles.

But Katsuki knew what he was trying to say. He thought it was cute for him to want to know what the boy in front of him wanted to say yesterday, but it didn’t make Katsuki feel better.

“It was nothing. Now fuck off you dipshit.” Katsuki sneered through his teeth, though he wanted to say he liked him and wanted to take him away from that man, he remembers he needs to respect his feelings for once.

“O-oh, really? But are you sure? I’m going to get worried, what, what if it was something important…Something could happen to you…” It was true, but the thing is that it already happened.

Katsuki gritted his teeth, as well as Izuku, started to fret around his surroundings because Katsuki isn’t telling him to go fuck himself or whatever.

Izuku almost made a pool of sweat and panic from how quiet Katsuki was, and his head was down. Until, the former’s head suddenly shot up as well as his arms that went straight towards Izuku’s shoulders, damn, he held Izuku’s shoulders very tightly, as if he were going to disappear any moment.

Izuku backed away from the contact and slowly opened his eyes, he didn’t even remember closing them.

His face was SO close to Katsuki’s and you can almost say that their noses were rubbing against each other. Izuku felt his lips move out of control. What the heck?

And that’s when he realized. He was kissing all lovey-dovey with Katsuki! It took him 4 seconds to move his body after realizing it, and he pushed the other boy away.

“K-kacchan…? What are you doing!” Izuku yelled in desperate gasps as he was wiping the saliva away from his lips. He had tears in his eyes, and Katsuki finally voiced out.

“I like you. But it seems I can’t.” Izuku could hear the dripping of sadness in his voice. It almost wanted him to tear his hair out in frustration.

“What?” Izuku finally said in an unbelieving voice, after several moments. “I said I like you, I like you Deku!” The other was practically yelling, as Izuku held his mouth with both of his hands.

“Is this what you were trying to say? It seems I shouldn’t have gotten so worked up, heh. Sorry, Kacchan. I can’t.” And then Izuku left. He was so dejected that he couldn’t cry, it’s as if he were wiping nonexisting tears if you look from far away.

He basically has bruised lips if you look really closely, surely his boyfriend would question. And Izuku picked up the pace of walking and now he was running to the gates for sure.

He can’t even imagine tomorrow, how he’s going to face, or rather, see Katsuki in front of him every period of class, lunch, and recess, and whatsoever.

He decides he should send a message to his friend, and relax for a while.

Hey Hari, mind picking me up? I’m feeling a bit blue.

As expected, he didn’t need to wait for 2 minutes when a message popped up on his phone.

Ok. What’s the occasion bud?

Nofing. I’m still at school BTW

He pocketed his phone after his friend responded with an emoji that refers to a thumbs-up sign. Looks like it’ll rain soon, and sure enough, the dark clouds start to gather together wherever city Izuku is.

It was the longest 10 minutes of his life, and he forced himself not to rush over to the black car and just get in before the storm starts. He finds himself snoring quietly in the comfy seat, and he holds the urge to lean on the window.

He rips his eyes open as the car slowly comes to a stop. “Did a great job sleeping, Izuku.”

Hari calmly spoke with a neutral face, even though Izuku cannot physically see his face, he could tell by his voice.

“I got stuff to do, so head inside, see ya.” Izuku only nodded and a short goodbye, and left the vehicle. He hurriedly entered the base, and oh boy, it took FIVE months to fully remember this un-fucking-believable maze of a base.

But Kai encouraged him that an average person would take over a year to even remember the doors. Izuku still had trouble from all the same color and whatsoever.

He headed straight to the office at the very back of the whole base. It connects to a walk-through bathroom with a massive closet on one side and everything else related to bathrooms on the other side. Then, at the end of the walk-through, small wooden stairs are designed and it connects to their huge bedroom.

It wasn’t time to think about that, right now, he’s on the verge of depression from a mere sad love confession from his dear childhood friend bully.

The door to the office bursts open as his beloved looks up from his computer. He had a murderous gaze just until he recognized that it was just Izuku. His face immediately turned concerned. “Oh dear. What’s the problem darling?” It was refreshing to hear his voice, it’s almost like drizzling honey on a warm waffle plate.

Izuku only had his head down and he couldn’t help but cry. He called himself puny for being so sentimental all the time. Kai pushed his chair back for some space and offered his hands.

Izuku immediately took the former’s hand and smoothly slid into the arms of his lover. The freckled child started to weep as he realized he didn’t put any cream on his slightly bruised lips, so he decided to cover them with his palm.

This wasn’t like Izuku at all.

“Angel, do your lips hurt?” Kai tried to guess, his concerned voice starting to leak in. Izuku merely shaked his head right to left, and the former still had his hands on his mouth.

“Someone, someone kissed me at school. And my lips hurt now, they went too hard.” Izuku stuttered, barely above a whisper and when he lifted his head to meet those gorgeous golden eyes, as if they were glowing in the dark, the clouds became deadly quiet as Kai held Izuku tightly in his arms.

“Give away, their name.” The former mumbled beside Izuku’s ear, and Izuku couldn’t help but shiver. “It’s okay. I can deal with them later, Kai..” The young man started to sob as he couldn't seem to forget the taste of his lips. Izuku could practically sense him clenching his teeth, but thankfully it didn’t go to his hands as well, where it held Izuku’s hips gently.

Kai exhaled as Izuku hurried his face in his chest, trying his hardest not to cry. Kai could only pat his head and spread kisses around his forehead.

He tried to wash it, but it was to no avail. It was like permanent to him. But thankfully it slowly started to go away after a few tries of lip balm. It was funny watching Kai getting uncomfortable when kissing with Izuku on the lips, so he stayed away from kissing for a few days- or a week maybe.

They were all good and happy during the weekend until- Katsuki somehow got over Izuku very easily and ganged up on him on a Tuesday afternoon after school. Some blue-haired dude made Izuku come into a dark alley behind the school, telling Katsuki would be there too.

In fact, they were telling the truth, but it didn’t make the situation any better since Katsuki truly showed the definition of a human punching bag.

Izuku stayed there for the longest time he could ever imagine, and his handsome boyfriend was getting worried for his beloved. Eventually, Izuku forced his sore and numb body to sit up after all, and hell, he looks indeed very broken.

Blood scattered on Izuku's head and he felt very numb, he could barely move his fingers. His backpack was at least six feet of his distance, and there’s no way he could get through those painful movements again.

He was thinking of texting Kai, realizing he had his phone in his pocket all along, though it could be crushed like his bones are, it’s still worth trying, or even to check if it’s alive.

“Oh..Thank god..” Izuku whispered, he tried to turn it on, so he waited a few seconds.

It was quite glitching in the corner but the young man didn’t mind and typed in his passcode. As he opened his messages, he started to cough, it was almost nine in the evening and he’s still in the alley sitting up.

Where are you? 6:12 pm

You’re not home or at school? 6:12 pm

Why can’t I find your location? 6:29 pm

Izuku? 7:23 pm

To be honest, he’s still at the school grounds, just in the dark alley no one would notice.

Izuku didn’t have the energy to type so he just pressed the call button. While waiting for a few seconds, he moaned in pain when he moved in the wrong direction. Suddenly he heard the phone connect.

“Izuku?” Kai started to speak, but with no response from Izuku but soft grunts and moans, the former has the word. Slow pants were given and Izuku was slowly struggling to stay awake even for a second.

“K-kai..” His voice was almost gurgled and he rasped out. The other man was quiet, but Izuku could hear shuffles and the basic sound of moving. “Help.” The call ended.

The small body could only manage a little to stay awake before he almost went unconscious, but my goodness! He felt his body shift in the arms of a strong body, and he nearly whined out. His back hurt SO much that he couldn’t stop from silently crying.

“It’s okay angel, it’s me.” A familiar voice whispered beside his ear and oh god it made him shiver. Izuku let out a whimper when he was picked up, wrapped his arms around the man’s neck, and closed his eyes once more.

When Izuku woke up, he was in his bed, he sat up and looked over, seeing that he was alone. He decided to sleep longer while he was at it. His bandages bothered him a lot. And he ended up getting frustrated and bored. From tiredness, he finally rested easily and snored quietly.

Overhaul sighed deeply as he finally stepped out of the car and back into his hideout; he was gone basically the whole day, and all he wanted was a damn shower and sleep with his lover. And just as planned, when he finished everything and got to his bedroom, he found 2 bodies laying on the bed.

“U-Uhm, sorry…” The small body of a girl apologized before trying to get out of the bed. She earned an eyebrow as she struggled to get off of Izuku’s grasp, she ended up making Izuku whine. “Why are you here, Eri.” That definitely sounded like an order to answer, and Eri’s heart raced.

“T-the person took, me in here.” This angered Kai. A random subordinate barged in here, while Izuku was lying on the bed, just to drop Eri off because he had nowhere else to put her? He was sure to kill him. But right now, he is tired.

“Whatever, move,” Kai said, but in a calm tone, the girl has never heard of him. He technically didn’t mean to go away, but it also didn’t mean to stay. Izuku pulled his arms out for the girl, and the girl hesitantly accepted it.

Kai only sighed deeply, and Eri’s heart wasn’t even racing anymore, it went so fast it was as if her heart stopped.

The bed beside Izuku dipped and Kai pulled Izuku closer and it made the gap between Kai and Eri’s close severely quick. She has never seen him without his mask, so it was quite a surprise for her to see him ESPECIALLY this close.

“It’s him right. The guy who kissed you.” He spoke deadly calm and Izuku wondered if he should be scared or not. “H-how’d you know?”

“I had a feeling. Now, where does he live, angel?” The younger man flinched as he stood, but failed miserably as he would’ve fallen if Kai couldn’t catch him on time.

“Wait! I-it wasn’t just him alright? There was some blue-haired guy and uh-” Izuku was cut short when he saw dangerous eyes staring at him.

“What did he look like? Did a stapled black-haired guy come along as well? Hm?”

Izuku gulped. “U-uh- You know these guys?”

“That motherfucker must’ve had connections with the fucking League.” The League? The League of what?

“Promise me he won’t touch you again, or you won’t stop me a second time, Izuku.” The green-haired boy merely nodded. So Izuku did, he stayed away from the school actually, and he got to spend more time with Kai during that time.

“Hey Deku! Nice seeing you here out on a shitty day.” Katsuki’s voice suddenly popped behind Izuku as the poor boy froze. The blonde wrapped his arms around Izuku’s still injured shoulders as he got real close to Izuku’s ear.

The green-haired boy whined and tried not to look at him. “So, bitch, what are you fucking doing here, hm?” His threatening whispers made Izuku drop to his knees as Katsuki followed along. “What did you do to make Auntie so worried about you?” He teased.

“Stop, Kacchan..” Izuku whispered. And it was enough words to make Katsuki grip his hand stronger and warmer. The tension between them grew and Izuku was scared to death by now.

But the burning sensation on his shoulder left as soon as he, or someone, lifted him up. “Izuku felt the murderous aura behind him even if he didn’t turn around, he already knew who it was.

“Is it you?” Kai’s deep voice scared the living shit out of Katsuki, along with a pair of glowing golden eyes.

It was almost sunset and nobody was around. Katsuki gritted his teeth as soon as he got thrown away. “Aah K-kai! Don’t!” He wasn’t listening to any of Izuku’s words. His eyes made Izuku faint from the beauty, but now wasn’t the time to mesmerize his features.

Izuku still wasn’t in a good condition so he had a hard time moving, so all he could do was shout nothing but words. “K-Kacchan, run! Please!” Izuku shouted desperately.

“Shut up shitty Deku!” By the time he said that Kai’s hand was already on Katsuki’s neck, nearly choking him to death! “Don’t speak to him like that!” Kai shouted, already dissolving his left hand’s glove, ready to disassemble his soul.

The hand came to his face but when his arm got jerked back, his gaze dropped behind him, a panting Izuku as he held onto the man’s arm.

“Let’s not.” Izuku was panting heavily, and he was losing it. Dull eyes narrowed and turned to look at the disgusting being. He then threw Katsuki’s body across the road. He probably had his head injured, but it could be better than getting disassembled. Izuku was practically sweating GALLONS and Kai couldn’t help but care for him rather than beating the kid.

“Why is he here anyway.” He said that and only walked away as he held Izuku’s hand, supporting him to the very least. “We’re- You’re not coming out of the base like this without someone tagging along.”

Izuku merely chuckled through coughs, “Sure.”

And Izuku never saw Katsuki again.
