A dragon's equal

Summary:

"Well well, what a small fellow you are" a loud roaring echoed through the winds that danced in the air. Mango jumped at the sound but he felt rude not to respond to the stranger. "Oh... hello! Who are you loud voice?" He called out to nothing, but his sweet tone attracted the voice to speak again. " I Must answer that later small one, But I shall ask you the same,  the one who disturbs my comfort hide away" he roars louder like a strong mighty dragon.

[ mango gets lost and meets ananas, they grow attached to one another and want to become fully equal, and of course the rest of the leading dragons hate the idea but that won't stop the both from making a beautiful rhythm]

Chapter Text

...

Mango didn't know where he stranded at all. He's been to many islands as you know too well of but he never stranded on a island that's only the size of a plastic kids pool with only one big patch of huge sharp leaves guarding golden pineapples. This was the only thing mango found outstanding since he couldn't believe such plants could survive on such a small amount of sand. He thought of the possibilities; maybe an island got flooded, maybe someone cursed this spot with magic! His mind was running around with many ideas that he just couldn't let these head cannons left to waste and jotted the ideals down in his mango scented journal.

"Hoo-hoo! These are great stories I'm coming up with!... but something is missing.... maybe it's because I'm making make belief" he mutters. He doesn't really have taste for stories that didn't originate from where it came from. And plus he's making stories about pineapples so really nothing is going to be special about it.

His hands finally stop writing after 30 minutes of writing 13 full pages on how a few pineapples grew on a small island,  his mind finally snapped back to his small panic from the beginning. He doesn't know where he was. "OH! thats right! I'm lost!.... My canoe is GONE!". shocked as he was, he gravely mourned the loss of his golden yellow canoe.

Ohno... how am I going to get home! He pondered.

"Oh dear! I'm so sorry to step on your property! M-my name is mango.... I would of gladly left but sadly I lost my special canoe..." mango frowns back at the pass hour the time he lost his beloved boat.

"Hmmm... I sense your sorrow of loss. You really love your boat I see, you intrigued me" the wind speaks

"Yes, I had it for many years! Ever since I was 11"

"Then I shall recruit for you! Or what remains of it!" The voice shouts as the waters start to quiver rapidly for a few seconds,

until it all goes calm again, mango sat on the small island for a few minutes to wait for his precious boat to arrive to him safe and sound. Mango hummed sweet tunes waiting with such patience. He then saw a mildly big wave and he instantly stood up to see if it was his golden yellow canoe and to his surprise it was!

the waves had offered the small man's canoe but mango saw the most gruesome thing in his life as the sight of it was unpleasant to his view. His canoe... All shattered and broken... it was beyond repair.

Mango's face grows lifeless the more the minuets pass by just staring at his early birthday gift he got only 20 years ago.

"My deepest apologies little one, this was all that managed through the harsh oceans of my domain..." the voice was soft and sympathetic that it made mango shed a few tears at the acknowledgement of relatable circumstances.

The voice calla back, " that boat must of been very special to you... you had it for so long"

Mango nodded with more and more tears falling down his face, more and more come after another hits his knees as he sits, looking through the horizon. "It... it was really really special to me. It was a early birthday present before my grandmother passed away, ... s- she was all I had left... she made me that canoe.... and I made sure it was in great condition..." mango starts to sob uncontrollably, he tries to wipe the tears away but more and more keep coming out like a waterfall. His breathing got fast and it sounded like he couldn't breath.

Something was on his shoulders. As he turned his head to see what it was he was faced with a beautiful creature. He couldn't tell if they were male or female but they were gorgeous; they had long sturdy horns and had eyes as sharp as a dragons claws. But that didn't stop the tears so the beautiful creature hugged him deeply. Mango almost suffocated by the creatures strong body but he loved the comfort and didn't bother complaining.

The creature began to speak, " I know your pain, I feel it almost everyday. I never spoke about this to any mortal but I know you'll understand..." mango looks at them with the full intention of listening to their hardships. And so they started to explain; " about millions or eons ago, I was created by people who were blindly guided by mentions of my name. I have caused many to lose their lives, left their children homeless, and gained their power for so long that everyone who helped create me withered away. Leaving me all alone; this haunted me for many years and this island we're sitting on... is where my creation took place. This is what's left...."

Both looked at each other with the same emotion of comfort. Both are relieved to let everything out after letting it bottle up for such a long time. Though both stories were a bit different, they felt the support for one another.

"I know my past is much different from yours, but we both lost what was supposed to be by our sides forever" they spoke.

"I know... I'm glad we got to share our scars that we kept hidden. Thank you, so much for your support." Mango's tears finally stopped as he fell asleep of the creatures strong sturdy arm. The snores so soft and calm, they didn't want to wake him so they carried mango and walked into the sea until they reached the very bottom.
