Chapter Text
Everyone has a soulmate. You will find out after the touch. Most people stay in a romantic relationship with them for the rest of their life. But some of them, after meeting their soulmate, decide to separate and be with someone else. It’s not happening very often and most of them are staying on good terms. There is also an urban legend about soulmate not being accepted by the second person. They are suffering alone for the rest of their life. At least to Yok’s knowledge, soulmate stuff is working this way. He is not sure, he didn’t meet his soulmate yet. He is the last person in his surrounding without a soulmate and he is tired of this.
Yok’s parents met each other in kindergarten. They didn’t really know what that’s mean but they liked to spend time together. They lost contact when they were teenagers to find each other again at the university. They loved each other so much. Yok was always amazed by his dad, who decided to marry a mute woman. He was the one who also teach him sign language very early. He died in a car accident when Yok was 14. That was the day when Yok had to finish his childhood and became the head of the small family. His life wasn’t easy. He was working during the summers, later when he was older he was working part-time jobs, sometimes a couple of them at the same time. He didn’t have a lot of time, so he didn’t have a lot of friends. But he was proud he could take care of his mom. She was angry and miserable because of this situation, she didn’t want to be a burden to her only, beloved son, but she couldn’t find a job for longer. No one wants to have an employee who doesn’t talk and doesn’t understand what they are saying. Yok was tired but he would never change his mom for someone else. He loves her more than anything. During his university time, he found friends. When he wasn’t working he liked to spend time with them. They called herself a Gang. They liked to do more or less legal stuff together. That was also the time when Yok decided to experiment a little bit. He met a lot of girls and boys for one-night stand only to be sure he definitely prefer boys. Soon after he was sure he told his mom that he is gay. He was ready for disappointment but she was very supportive. She only was worried about other people. She only wanted his happiness. Even now, when Yok was 28 and still alone, without his soulmate, she was prying all the time for him to not be lonely anymore. But she couldn’t change what Yok feel. And he was lonely. And frustrated. And he hated his life. He finished his art studies but his paint and brushes long-forgotten were lying in the corner of his room. Yok was an office worker. He hated it so much but they pay enough to pay for rent and food for him and his mom. And he finally had some time, not being tired 24 hours. But he didn’t have a lot of opportunities to be happy about it. All his friends had a soulmate already. Some of them were married and Gram even have a kid! How crazy that was! They were adults now. So they don’t have time for him. When he was depressed, he went to the bar, had quick sex in the bathroom, and came back to his plain life.
Until he met him.
