Sweet Dreams
Night time on the Sunny may seem scary at first, knowing you’re in the middle of the sea, but still, there was also some type of calmness that came with it, the boys in one room and the girls in the other, today you were on night watch with Brook, normally two or three people will be on night duty but today everyone was just so tired, it wasn’t a big deal to you, being in the lookout tower alone was something you enjoyed, looking at the stars in the raven like water was one of the comforts of being in a pirate crew.
You were watching the sea when suddenly you hear a knock, it was Luffy
Y/n “Come in..”
Luffy then opens the door while holding a cover and pillow
Luffy “hey... i was wondering if you can help me sleep again..”
Y/n “sure, is it because of Zoro’s snoring, i thought Chopper fixed that?”
he then places his belongings next to you trying to get in the most comfortable position
Luffy “ no it wasn’t that…i had another dream.. it was Ace again...”
says while turning away and patting his pillow
Luffy would often come to you when having trouble sleeping, it wasn’t odd if all of a sudden he would come to the girl's room to try to wake you up, if he failed he would just sleep by you or have his head resting on the side of the bed while the rest of him on the floor.
Y/n “ do you want to talk about it?”
Luffy “ i don’t know.. maybe..i just want to sleep..”
You wanted to process the nightmare with him but he honestly looked so drained, that just looking at him made you feel tried
you then go to his level on your knees
Y/n “give me your hands and close your eyes, then tell me what you want to dream about”
his hands were rough and sweaty, all you could feel was the coldness coming from his body
Y/n “ok now that i have your hands' let's take a deep breath in.. and out.., good, now tell me what do you want to dream about?”
Luffy “ i want to dream about the crew, us being at an island where the sun is super hot and there’s a party and food, everyone having a good time…”
Y/n “ohh what type of food?”
Luffy “A LOT OF MEAT! ”
Y/n “sounds like fun hehe”
Luffy “oh! how about ice drinks to go with the meat, Sanji makes the best drinks”,
Y/n “now that you know your dream, are you comfortable? do you need tea or water to help?”
Luffy “mmhh nothing right now, tea does sound good though..”
everything was done now you just have to put him to sleep, he lays down and closes his eyes, your hand touches his forehead when you say
Y/n “good night Luffy, sweet dreams”
Luffy “sweet dreams Y/n”.
Your Devil Fruit is the Dream Dream Fruit, you got it when you sunk on a pirate ship, you saw it in a box next to bags full of stolen goods, and you, of course, took both, it was a win win in you’re eyes, Devil Fruits weren't anything new to you, people everywhere had them good or bad, the fruit was blue and had unique patterns on it, you took it having the idea of selling it but on an impulse, you ate it, nothing had happened to you, it was like that for a while till one night the town that you were staying in got invaded by some type of Navy unit, it was bad the whole island was on fire, there was no time to help the people fight them, all you could do was help the children and their parents to safely, some of the children where homeless or didn’t have parents at all, you helped some of the kids who didn’t have anyone, which led the rest of them to think that you led an orphanage
it was a small group, so about ten kids went to you the youngest being three and the oldest being ten, being on a boat of crying children and seeing their home get burned down because of some type of authority, made you want to protect them, the same happened to you when you were younger so you could understand how hard it was
going to the next island was very easy, they would often trade so they were good neighbors, the people in the village helped them recover, but the kids couldn’t sleep
Y/n “ok how about this, tell me what you wanna dream about?”
“ howww abouttt, rainbows!!, andddd dogs!!”
she was four years old, didn’t understand why the island was on fire or why she was alone in the first place
Y/n “oh?! seems like a wonderful dream, you can lay on my lap again and i can brush your hair, does that sound like fun?”
“YEAH!, i like it when miss y/n does that hehe”
she then places her head down on you while she does that you tell her that it's okay to fall asleep and that you are here with her now, she trusted you a lot, she never had an adult figure in her life, she then falls a sleep, you stop touching her hair when you kiss her forehead and said
Y/n “sweet dreams”
that’s when you realize how the fruit works.
The Next Morning in the Lookout Tower
Zoro “ oi why is Luffy here?”
Nami “ i don’t know ask him not me”
Sanji “ THAT BASTARD, WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS!!!!”
Usopp “ maybe he's a sleepwalker?”
It was Luffy sleeping in your lap, normally you would try to take him to his bed but he would always budge when you would try to, even getting up would cause him to grab you and slam you right back down, even if he was sleeping, he didn’t want anyone leaving his side.
Robin “ we should at least wake y/n up”
Chopper “ probably not i bet it's hard to put him asleep”
Luffy “ me..at…”
Sanji “ HES SLEEPING WITH A LADY AND ALL HE THINKS OF IS MEAT?!”
Nami “ Sanji-kun, let's leave them alone for now, ok?”
Sanji “ WHATEVER YOU SAY NAMI- SWANヽ(♡‿♡)ノ”
Zoro “ oi, i gotta train thought”
Sanji “ EHH!, are YOU not going to listen to NAMI-SWAN?!(＃`Д´) ”
Zoro “ what if i don’t? i gotta train somehow.. ￢_￢”
Luffy “eh it's morning already?” says while rubbing his eyes
Y/n “ oh god the sun..” you say while covering your eyes
Sanji “ good morning my love ~, would you like some tea ~“
Luffy “ tea sounds good Sanji”
Sanji “ NOT YOU, YOU ASS!!”
Y/n “ tea would be nice Sanji-san”
Sanji “ of course my lady ~ “
Luffy “ make that two Sanji!”
Sanji “ you don’t have to say it twice!”
Y/n “Sorry I didn’t mean to fall asleep, I guess him on my lap made me sleepy, it won't happen again”
Nami“ eh I’ve seen worse and if nothing happens then don’t worry”
Nami didn’t want to ask why he was sleeping on you, everyone in the crew kind of knew why, it would happen occasionally, they all knew of you’re Devil Fruit, so it was nothing surprising to them.
Breakfast
Robin “ how about on the next island we get the same book?”
Nami “ ohh! what type?”
Y/n “ how about drama?”
Nami “ we just read one about drama, how about horror?!”
Robin “ when was the last time we did horror?”
Y/n “ like three months ago, i would like to say?”
Robin “it's good to read horror every now and then”
Brook “ did someone say horror, yo ho ho ho ho~”
Usopp yells while being by the helm
Usopp “OOI, think i see an island!!”
Nami then yells the instructions to the whole crew, at some point Nami seems like the captain to you.
The island was a Summer island, it was filled with people surfing, people tanning, and all that jazz.
Luffy “WOW LOOK AT THAT, SO COOL!! (╯✧▽✧)╯” points at someone surfing
Franky “ pretty super! but we gotta get the goods first then we can have fun”
Sanji “ looks like we need more supplies for the kitchen too,” says while smoking a cigarette
Y/n “ don’t worry Luffy i bet it won’t take long and besides getting supplies can be fun u know?
Luffy “ truee, but still ┐(´д｀)┌” says in a whining tone
Going into town was always chaos, one minute you’re looking at the beautiful view, then the next someone got lost or in a fight, at this point you kind of expected it to happen.
Usopp “ oi Franky, did you get what you need”
Franky “ Of course i got what i need!!, Cola and more Cola!”
Usopp “ that nice.., how about like cleaning supplies”
Franky “ oh.. yeah.. well it doesn’t hurt to get more”
Nami “that’s fine but it will cost you boys [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°̲̅)̲̅$̲̅]“
Chopper and Usopp “ money is a cruel thing ┐( ˘_˘ )┌”
Robin “oh look, it seems to be a book shop girls!”
Y/n “ i wonder what they have, probably some type of tourist merchandise?”
Nami “let's just go”
yells in the middle of the street
Nami “ REMEMBER GUYS, DON'T OVERDO IT! K?”
Usopp “ WE HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME (¬▂¬)”
The shopping was surprisingly done early, it took about an hour to finish, you and the girls got romance and drama even though y'all were looking for horror.
Nami “ i just can’t help myself when it comes to romance and it was on sale, it was like it was meant to be!”
Y/n “ weren't you the one that suggested we get horror (-_-;)・・・ “
Nami “ yes.. but people change and this story looks so good, two princesses fall for each other but out of nowhere one of them gets sent off to get married, and they then meet 20 years later, i can’t wait to read this!” says while clenching the book in her chest
Robin “ change is only needed if something is wrong, this book looks absolutely lovely”
Y/n “ well sense the shopping is done, how about we go grab a bite while we are at it?”
Y'all went to a local spot, it was by the pier and the Sunny was in sight, it served things like Paninis, Fruit Salad, and Fruit drinks.
Nami “ so I've been wanting to ask this to you but, is Luffy ok?”
Y/n “ what do you mean, he's healthy,? i mean sure he eat alo-”
Nami “ that’s not what i mean.., like why does he keep sleeping with you? is he ok...?”
Y/n “ oh… well i know you're saying this out of concern for him so i'll tell you…, he tends to get flashbacks of Ace… and comes to me when he can’t sleep...”
Robin thought that might be the case but didn’t want it to come true, she was just silent, Nami had a grave look on her face, and didn’t know what to say.
Y/n “ i know it's hard to hear especially when we weren’t there to console him but don’t worry we talked about it and he says yall are doing great, and not worry about him.., to him, me controlling his dream is one step, he tends to worry that its a burden on me but i’m just glad he's starting to ask for help, so don’t worry, let's just take this one step at a time“
Nami tends to hide her emotions but couldn’t help it, she gets up from her chair and just hugs you, it was a long one too, all you could do from your positions was pat her head and tell her it's okay, Robin looked like she wanted some of the action so you joyfully ask her to join.
Robin “ why don’t we go to the Sunny now, their probably lonely with just Brook”
Nami “ OH NO I FORGOT, BROOK WANTED SOMETHING!!”
Y/n “ OH- HOW MUCH MONEY DO WE HAVE?”
Nami “ NOT ENOUGH FOR HIS TASTE!”
Robin “ hehe~, why don’t we just give him a seashell and a tie i bet he would love it”
Nami “ I THINK I SAW I CLOTHING STORE BY THE BAY, LETS HURRY!”
Y/n “ DON’T FORGET THE SEASHELL”
It was now evening
everyone was on the Sunny and ready to go, dinner was served, and now all that was left was to leave the beautiful Summer island
Brook “ HO YO YO YO YO~, my dream of beautiful lady's giving me a gift has finally come true!”
Nami “ awe don’t worry about it”
Brook “may i see you’re panties ~ ( ◡‿◡ ) ”
Nami “ DON’T PUSH YOUR LUCK! >(#｀皿´) “
says while hitting his head
You decided to take a little break from the cleaning and went to the lawn, even though the grass was fake it smelled like it was real, it didn’t hurt when you laid on it, it was soft, and the consistency was like a cotton towel, you then start to doze off
Luffy “ yo (〃￣ω￣〃ゞ”
Y/n “ huh!, oh hi Luffy..”
Luffy “ are you sleeping outside again?”
Y/n “ again? i don’t remember ever sleeping outside?”
Luffy “ REALLY, HAHA it was when you first join, me,you and Zoro were on night watch, then out of nowhere you fell asleep by Merry”
Y/n “ OH YEAH!, HAHA, i don’t know why but i like sleeping on the floor, i guess because it's flat?”
Luffy “ why don’t you just go back to sleep, don’t worry i’ll wake you up when it's time to leave”
Y/n “ really! that would be great”
you then start getting comfortable when you then see Luffy pat his thighs
Luffy “ i just thought it would be nice if the roles were changed since you let me sleep on your lap today..”
you smile while slighting tilting your head
Y/n “ i would love to”
you then place your head on his lap,
Luffy “ sweat dreams y/n”
he then moves your hair on your forehead and gently kisses it
Y/n “ hehe, sweat dreams Luffy”
