The beeping from the heart rate monitor slowed as Hitomi looked at the slightly heaving chest until the line went straight. A loud ring was heard throughout the room as cries of grieved family members echoed the hallways. The girl could only sigh as she checked the box next to the name of the deceased, before teleporting herself to the rooftop of the hospital.
A man could be seen standing there, looking confused as he stared at her. The scars from his previous surgeries no longer there but a pained look was on his face.
“Who are you?” His voiced wavered slightly as a gush of wind blew past them.
“Hello, Han Jiseok. My name is Honda Hitomi, an angel sent from above to assist you in your journey to your next life.”
“Am I dead?”
“Yes, you are,”
Hitomi watched the slight tremble of his lips as he bursted into tears, falling onto the floor as he wept. His cries were like his family, weeping by his bedside and she crouched down to pat his back soothingly. She had seen people react this way so often that she wasn’t surprised by the violent cries. She waited until he had calmed down and stood up, extending her hand as she pulled him to his feet.
“Before I go, can I go see my family one last time?”
The angel smiled gently as she nodded her head, her hands holding a long scroll of parchment as she read through his profile to the man. He was allowed to be next to his family for 3 days before he has to move on. She waved her hands as she watched the excited soul of the man disappearing through the walls and she disappeared herself.
On the other side of the town, a man could be seen begging for his life to be spared. A woman towered over the frightened man, a knife in hand as she smiled at how pathetic he looked. Her dress was blood red the same color as her eyes, as fangs peeked out between her lips.
“PLEASE DON”T KILL ME !! I’M BEGGING YOU !! PLEASE !!”
“I’m sure that’s what all those people you had killed said before you shot them in the head.”
“That was different!”
“Oh really? Then I guess me killing you isn’t that different as well?”
The man clambered up his chair as he took out a gun from his drawers. He laughed as he aimed it at the girl, laughing with a smirk on his face as he pulled the trigger. His laughter died down slowly as the girl barely flinched at the shot, blood dripping onto the carpeted floor and a chuckle was heard.
“The thing about you humans, is that you guys are so naive. Can’t you just accept the fact that you’re going to die?”
He tried to flee but was met with the girl, standing so close to him that he could see the veins on her skin. Her fangs were now bared as broad wings revealed itself from behind and he couldn’t even blink before a knife was at his throat. Blood spilled all over the floor as the body sank to the ground.
The girl smiled as she pulled the knife away, her wings disappearing as well as her fangs. She took a step back from the dead man with a scroll in her hands.
“I, Kim Minjoo, demon of the Underworld have taken the life of Yoon Hajoon, as asked by my master, Song Haeri who died at his hands. The man I killed took the lives of 7 other woman, the last one being my master. He shall be sent to Hell for he must atone his sins!”
Minjoo took one last look at the lifeless body as she huffed out a breath of relief before disappearing together with the fog surrounding her.

The clinking of keys caused Hitomi to look up from the book she was reading, her glasses falling onto the bridge of her nose. Her roommate came in, placing her keys onto the counter as she slumped onto the couch, an exhausted sigh coming out from her lips.
“How was your date?”
“Horrible is an understatement. The dude kept on bragging about some island he owns of the coast of god knows where,”
“Well, at least he’s good looking,”
A snort was heard, “Yeah, good looking in terms of what? Personality or visual, because he ain’t for both.” The two erupted into laughter as Hitomi looked at her roommate who sat up properly, her legs crossed as she straightened out her dress.
“How about you, Hii-chan? How was that family reunion thing?”
“It went quite well actually, but not much happened. Just the usual of catching up and me avoiding the topic of dating someone,”
“That’s- I pity you sometimes. When will you listen to my advice, and go for one blind date? I know a few guys I can set you up with and they’re pretty decent-“
“Minjoo, I don’t swing that way-”
Hitomi looked at Minjoo who had her mouth opened in silent shock before a knowing smirk was on her lips. She uncrossed her legs as she stepped towards the still girl, until they were a foot apart and her smirk grew wider as Hitomi gulped down at the sight of her. The dress fitted snugly onto Minjoo’s lean frame, highlighting her curves, exposed back and the slight dip of the dress showing a slight bit of her cleavage.
“Do you like what you see, Hii-chan?” The shorter girl only stare as the dress hitched up a bit, revealing milky-white thighs. She nodded her head before realizing her mistake, a red tint on her fluffy cheeks together with a shake of her head.
Minjoo bursted out laughing at the flustered girl, pecking her forehead as she sat down next to her. The poor girl was red all over her face as she looked down embarrassedly, placing her glasses onto her closed book and covered her face with her hands. An embarrassed squeal was heard and the demon doubled over in laughter.
“Hii, you’re as red as the book you’re holding !”
“Stop laughing!”
“I-I’m sorry, but I just can’t !”
“Meanie!” The angel huffed out as she gathered her things and retreated to her room, leaving a laughing demon behind. Minjoo stopped laughing only to realize that Hitomi had gone to her room and she decided to call it a night.
The two girls sat in their respective bedrooms, contrasting in color as they both sighed. Hitomi’s was white and Minjoo’s was black, each representing their true identity. Both the angel and the demon was brought to Earth with the same task; to execute the other. The two beings searched for one another but never realised they had already known one another and Cupid is laughing at them as both had matching arrows stuck to their backs...
