Chapter Text
He opens his eyes. Everything’s a blur, he can’t make anything out besides lights and some shapes. There are muffled voices asking his name. He knows this. Something tells him Binks. No. That’s not his name, that’s never been his name. Why did he think it was? Something isn’t right. He tries to get up, but he’s tied down. Where is he? What’s going on? Who are these people? Why is he here? Where’s F-
———
He opens his eyes. He can feel it, he’s still tied down. Panic begins to rise in his chest. Who are you? Why is he here? What is going on? Why does he think his name is Binks? Why is everything so fuzzy? Why does he feel so different? He wants to see F-
———
He opens his eyes. This time he tells them what they want to hear; answers their questions.
Can you hear us?
Yes.
Can you see us now?
Yes.
What is your name?
Binks (false).
Can you lift your arms?
He does.
These tests go on and on for what seems like eternity. Maybe when they’re finished they’ll let him out. He can finally see F-
————
He opens his eyes. He’s moving, but still tied down. Glancing around he notices he’s strapped to a dolly and seems to be getting carted somewhere. He can’t seem to move his limbs for some reason, he must still be waking up. He recognizes this place, now that he can see again. He’s wheeled to the familiar round elevator, he must have been close to Parts and Service. Why was he there?
“Little man seems to be waking up, think we should let him walk on his own?” It’s a voice behind him.
“Nah, we were told to get him up to the Frights before letting him roam. Something about getting him familiar with his zones so he can better map the plex or whatever.” Another voice responds from slightly further back.
His ears are twitching for some reason. Sounds are so much more vivid than he remembers. He can’t quite understand what the people behind him are saying but he’s content to lay there as long as he can move around again soon.
“What’s the Frights?” He tries to speak up, but his mouth opens and nothing comes out but a weak hiss.
The dolly jerks a little as he startles the man pushing it, “Oh shit, he’s trying to say something! Sorry bud, you’re still not at peak performance yet. Just relax, let yourself kinda start up a bit more and you’ll be fully functional in no time!”
The boy feels a few pats on the top of his head, ruffling his hair a little. It’s only slightly comforting but he’d never admit it. He doesn’t know these people but he’s got little choice but to trust them and just play along with his new instincts until he can finally get free.
It’s not long until the stage elevator makes it to the Atrium. It seems to be early still as there are no customers or children to be seen. There are other human employees dotted around setting up tables and stringing balloons. It’s the first time he’s really seen the plex like this.
He’s a little anxious being tied down and out in the open, but it’s mostly overshadowed by curiosity. He’s usually more cautious but something pulls at him to explore more, poke his nose in places he shouldn’t be. That feeling is a comfort, he’s used to being in places he shouldn’t. Then he spots them, a couple of the Glamrocks. Something feels off when he sees them, but he just can place the feeling. They must be getting ready for a rehearsal.
The wolf, Roxy, seems to notice them first. She nudges the gator next to her and points. He turns, lowers his sunglasses and shrugs. Something about that gesture sends the boy into a slight panic but he quickly settles, not quite sure why. They’re heading to the atrium elevator when Chica and Freddy exit it. His heart feels like it’s doing cartwheels. Finally he can see Freddy again!
Something is wrong. The chicken pokes Freddy in the side and points to them, when the bear looks over finally looks over at them the boy is instantly struck by a sense of fear. There is no recognition in Freddy’s eyes. In fact, the friendly glow he remembers is dulled. The look he receives from the bear chills him. It’s like there’s no one there, an empty shell. When he looks back to Chica he seems to reanimate, pats her shoulder and the pair head over to the others without another glance their way.
The boy is devastated. What happened? Where’s the Freddy he remembers? Where’s the Freddy he needs? He still doesn’t understand what’s going on. The sooner he can get mobile the better. He’s filled with determination now, he’s decided he’s going to help Freddy and find out what’s happening, but first he needs to get settled into this so called Frights place.
The elevator reaches the third floor balcony and the boy begins to wonder where this Frights place could be. According to his memory there was no such attraction in the Pizza Plex. The further he and his handlers travel the more he notices. They’re heading to the area where Bonnie Bowl was. Thinking back to when he first entered the atrium he doesn’t recall seeing the Bonnie Bowl artwork at all.
They arrive at the entrance to Fazbear Frights, and the boy's suspicions are confirmed. Fazbear Entertainment made good on their intention to replace
Bonnie Bowl with a newer attraction. There were Coming Soon banners posted everywhere. From the splash art above the elevator this attraction seems to be a haunted house of some kind based on the horror games fazbear entertainment released some time ago with a very prominent black cat figure bracing the elevator. Why are they bringing him here?
One of his handlers flashes a security badge to the staff bot guarding the elevator door and they’re let in. As the elevator ascends the boy hears that familiar fazbear jingle and he prepares to cringe at some new “fazfact” but that’s not what plays. Instead, the boy is shocked to hear his own voice come out of the speakers.
“Ready for the ultimate test of courage?! Welcome to Fazbear Frights, where we’ve made sure you’ll have the scariest experience of your life! Don’t worry though, I’ve got your back no matter what ghosts, ghouls or stray animatronic may show up! You can depend on good ole Binks to come to the rescue! Now put on a brave face and welcome to Fazbear Frights!”
That doesn’t make sense, he doesn’t remember recording anything like that. The last time he was here this place didn’t even exist! The boy was even more confused, deep down he realized that maybe he was scared to find out more. He has no choice though, the familiar feeling of being trapped in this place creeps into the back of his mind. He’ll be free soon, he’ll know the truth soon. A dark shiver shoots down his spine as the elevator doors finally open.
He remembers Bonnie bowl being big, open, and bright but this place is dark and muggy. The elevator opens into what appears to be a small lobby room with a large desk for admissions and presumably waivers to be filled before entering the attraction proper. He’s wheeled through a central door that is reminiscent of the security doors found in other parts of the plex.
They enter a room that is a pretty large size, it seems to be modeled after an older security office. It’s got the signature metal doors, light switches and power meters. It’s oddly familiar, looks around the boy seems to know where and what everything is at just a glance.
“Well little man this is your stop. You’re not a member of the band so you don’t get a greenroom but consider this nifty little office here your room. I’m sure I don’t really need to show you but behind that desk there is a switch that’ll open a hidden door to a small maintenance area where your charging station is located. We’re gonna pop you in there and hopefully once you’re fully charged you’ll automatically connect to the main network and get any map data or updates you may need! Grand opening is only a week away so make sure you’re familiarizing your systems with the attraction as a whole! After all, you're the Game Master and Guide for all the guests! Welcome officially to the Mega Pizzaplex Binks. Can’t wait to see you in action!”
By the time the boy fully realized what was happening he was locked in the charging station. He knew well that it wouldn’t open again until the charge cycle was complete. After a little while he was finally able to move, he was finally aware of how different his body was. No wonder Freddy didn’t recognize him, no wonder everything seemed off.
His eyes were finally open.
