Between pillows and books

Summary:

The Serenitea Pot is finally decorated anew and Aether, who is proud of his little world, wants to show Venti around. Especially since the blond prepared a cosy place just for the two of them.

Work Text:

„Oohhh“ Venti let out when he stepped into the inazuman based house after the blond owner had opened the door for them to enter.

The Traveller was beaming with joy when he told the bard he had finally rearranged his place inside the Serenitea Pot. Of course the Archon accepted the kind invitation and there they were.

The hall was spacious and sparsely, but neatly decorated. On the right were four bar stools and a large counter, all made of dark wood. Thoma, who had made himself at home, waved at the two males and was bustling behind the counter to cook some food. The air was filled with the smell of cooking and Venti’s stomach reacted of the delicious scent as it started to growl. How mean to postition the kitchen right at the entrance so there was no way to get past it without grabbing some food! Though he couldn’t stop at the counter because Aether was too hyped to show the wind god his newly drafted home.

In the ground floor were a small living-room, a tea room and a sleeping-room which was kept in blue and purple colours. Aether explained that the Kamisato siblings tent to pay a visit here, while Ayaka enjoyed being in the tea room and her brother occupied the sleeping-room which he also used as a second place to work from. The bard could barely keep up with his words as the smell of food was still intense. Thank goodness it decreased when they reached the upper floor. While going upstairs, Venti noticed a small reading corner under the stairs with little piles of books next to two couches and a sidetable. On the table was a small lamp which dimmed the corner into a cosy light.

Achoooo

By Celestia, this was a big sneeze the god let out when the two male walked down the upper corridor. „Ah, I forgot to mention it.“ Aether stated, „Normally I keep some cats here, but Yun Jin was kind enough to take care of them in the big room next door for today.“ Then the two stopped in front of the last room, the Traveller hesitating. Behind the door was a spacious, but comfortable looking room in Mondstadt style. Right ahead was a table with a chair and behind them a huge bed – or it probably should be a bed. Venti raised his eyebrows over the tent-like thing his emerald-coloured eyes witnessed. A bedsheet was taut over the bed and piles of pillows were serving as pillars. He tilted his head while approaching this fascinating contruct, his shoes slightly clacking on the wooden parquet.

„I… thought we could make ourselves comfortable here…“ The blond stuttered, his cheeks turning to a soft pink. „We can grab some snacks and books, too.“ Venti nodded to show he liked that idea. „Sounds good. I’m all in!“ he responded, immediately taking of his shoes, his cape and the brown corsage before he crawled into the cosy place. „Now the only thing missing is you!“ Venti had laid down on his stomach, legs in the air when he caught a glimpse of the Traveller whose cheeks went from the soft pink to a more reddish tone, mumbling he had to go downstairs to get the snacks first.

While the blond was away, Venti turned on his back streching all limbs and took all the space in the huge and utterly soft bed. A deep sigh escaped the bard’s lips, closed his eyes for a moment to enjoy the silence of this place. The realm inside the teapot emitted an atmosphere of freedom and peace. Everytime the Anemo Archon had the chance to pay a visit, he felt at ease. Maybe the reason was that this little world was made by the Traveller whose presence himself was soothing. Venti couldn’t deny the fact that he liked having Aether around him.

He let out a soft hum when suddenly a warm hand was placed on the bard’s face, fingers tracing his cheeks down to his chin and gently played with one of his blue braids. Emerald eyes met amber eyes, when the god wanted to see the hand’s owner. „You occupy the whole place, sleeping beauty.“ His voice was so soft that Aether was almost purring. „I didn’t sleep.“ Demanded the god and made only just enough space for the Traveller to fit in the bed, ignoring that his face felt a little hotter now. Aether crawled next to him only wearing his trousers and crop top, placing a bowl of salty snacks at the bed’s end and had brought along a small book with short stories. The cosy selfmade tent kept off enough daylight so it wasn’t too bright inside, yet it was enough to be able to read. The blond demanded to read something to him while Venti could continue resting. The emerald eyes shined bright in anticipation after the suggestion. When did someone ever read stories to him? Probably never – or it was a long, long time ago when the Anemo Archon wasn’t the Anemo Archon yet.

Venti examined the other’s face, when Aether opened the book, browsed the first few sites until he reached the beginning of the first story. A smile manifested on the bard’s face, when the first sentences were spoken in the ever so soothing and gentle voice of the other. When the chance would be given, he could listen to the Traveller for hours. The soft tone in his voice and the way he spoke was a melody on his own. A melody which took the Windborne to a better place.

Venti stretched with a relaxed yawn and flinched when a hand touched his slightly exposed belly, but demanded the other to continue as he carefully listened to the story. But it turned out to become more difficult with every minute as the relaxing belly rubs switched to occasional tickles. This was when disaster took its course. Aether discovered Venti was rather ticklish and took advantage of it. „Tickle attack!“ he shouted and a flood of tickles hailed down on the male with the dark blue hair. He tried to escape them and also started a counter attack, leading both to laugh loud and fidget like fish on the land. Venti kicked off the piles of pillows which swept along a table lamp down into its doom when it crashed loud on the hard ground. „No, the snacks!“ Venti let out breathless when Aether hit the bowl with his elbow and it landed not safely on the ground either. Of course the food was scattered everywhere. „Oops.“ Both stopped to witness the chaos they had caused when the door was torn up.

„What happened? Are you okay?“ A tall blond man appeared in the door frame heavily breathing, but stopped when he saw the scenery he barged into: Aether and Venti with messed up clothes and hair, inside a chaos of a bed, laying entwined in each other, while the blond was on top. Thoma’s face flushed as red as his jacket. „I’m so sorry. I didn’t meant to…“ He stammered flustered and closed the door in a hurry to leave the two males alone.

„Maybe we should clean up the room.“ Aether suggested with the face like a tomato, after a small moment of silence. „Maybe we should.“ Venti was amused over the now extremly flustered Traveller who didn’t hesitate to pin down the bard only a moment ago. Even when it was just while they fooled around.

Thanks to Venti’s Anemo abilities, the scattered snacks and splitters were shortly piled together and Aether had sorted the pillows and the bedsheet on the two couches which were also placed in the room. After that they decided to head to the kitchen downstairs. They hadn’t the chance to eat much after all. Still with messy hair and both forgot to put back on the rest of their clothes, they took a seat at the counter where Thoma served them a plate of ‚warmth‘ - his special form of miso soup - only facing them briefly. „This soup is a gift from the divine and exactly what I need now after being so exhausted.“ The bard sighed. Thoma cleared his throat as an obvious sign of his embarassment, when he had picked up the work to dust the shelves. „But we should totally do it again.“ Venti’s eyes rested on his friend’s face to read his expressions while he heard another awkward hrumph from across the entrance hall. He noticed Aether’s cheeks flush as well which effected his ears as well, before his eyes met the bard’s. „If you want… I… would like to spend more time with you, too.“ Venti hummed pleased as he kept staring at the Traveller’s beautiful face.

Even when it was a misunderstanding and he made fun of it, the imagination of actually doing what was assumed was actually tempting.
