Work Text:

Izuku’s body burned with pain but his heart hurt even more. He’d never imagined that he’d ever experience the horror that he’d just gone through in the safety of his dream school. UA was supposed to be different and good and protect him, yet after being violated in the worst ways possible he walked right into another assault.

He’d just wanted to go home into the loving arms of his mates, drown in their scents and be told that everything was going to be okay. That they’d get through this and their pups would be welcomed into a loving family. Instead, he was slapped the second he entered his dorm. He was screamed at and berated, called horrible names that made the unwilling marks on his body burn even more. He wanted to cry, shout, and throw things, yet all he could do was stand there and take all their harsh words.

When Aizawa-sensei had stepped forward, Izuku felt hope rise up in his chest. The pro wasn’t his homeroom teacher, but he was a fellow omega and he trusted the man. His trust immediately shattered as soon as he’d opened his mouth and informed him that he was expelled. Before he’d even been asked his side of the story or given a fair case. UA was supposed to be different, but who was he compared to students with great quirks who were going to become heroes? UA wasn’t different at all.

The bruised omega stumbled through the streets with nothing but his bag filled with whatever he could grab under the harsh eyes of his former pack. He wondered if he’d forgotten anything important in his rushing only to remember it didn’t matter anymore. His bond was broken just like his body and his heart. He didn’t have anything left to care about.

That’s not entirely true. The quieter part of his mind spoke up, reminding him that he wasn’t fully alone without anything. His small hand rested on his flat stomach where his pups rested. Pups that would enter the world without any support or love from a pack. They would just have Izuku.

His heart lurched and his head went fuzzy. Thoughts escaped his grasp as he struggled to stand. It felt like he was dying somewhere on the inside. Breathing became laboured with every wobbly step. Izuku didn’t even know where he was heading when he’d left UA and now he had no clue where he was. He needed help. He needed someone, anyone, to go to. He had no one but himself and his dying omega.

No! His inner omega growled, fighting itself and its body. We can’t drop, we must protect the pups! Izuku’s last thoughts were about his babies before everything went black.

.

Consciousness came back to Izuku slowly and with a lot of pain. His head pounded and protested against being awake. Unfamiliar scents wafted into his nose and he tried to make sense of them. He was not at the dorms, that much was certain. He could never forget what his former pack did to him. He also knew he wasn’t outside. The smell was too strong and nest-like to be anywhere public.

Smoke, like a campfire, was the strongest scent wherever he was. Mingled just underneath it was the soft omega scent that made his own cry out for comfort. He didn’t recognize the omega’s scent, but he still longed for that comforting bond between that secondary sex. A low whine fell past his lips as he tried to sit up and get a look around the room.

“Hey now, don’t do that.” A raspy voice chided him, warm hands pushing on his shoulders so he laid back in the soft nest he was in. The campfire and jasmine omega scent hit him stronger and he felt himself calm down. His eyes still weren’t cooperating with him, so he allowed himself to relax.

“I’ve got you, Freckles. I won’t let anything happen to you.” The safe omega growled, a protective undertone lacing their voice. Izuku was sure he didn’t personally know this person and that he should be scared, but he couldn’t find it in himself. This stranger was safe safe safe and he didn’t want to look any further than that just yet.

“You’re going through a drop. I’m gonna help you best I can. I’ll tell you everything when you’re coherent. For now, just rest.” The voice was strong yet sad. Safe Omega was sad about something that Izuku couldn’t help with. It probably had to do with him anyway. He decided to follow the stranger’s advice and felt the familiar darkness of sleep approaching him.

“I’m so sorry about your pup.”

After many bouts of partial consciousness, Izuku finally woke up coherent. He had no idea how long he’d been out of it, but it had to have been at least a couple of days. His head has fuzzy and his body ached but he wasn’t in a whole lot of pain. His mouth was unbearably dry, he realized as he smacked his tongue to the roof of his mouth.

“Are we awake, sweetheart?” A new voice asked him. It was not the one he’d grown familiar with during his drop, one he’d labelled ‘Safe Omega’. He blinked to clear his vision and turned in the direction of the sound.

“Mmm?” He whined, words unable to form just yet. A cup with a straw was brought to his lips and he began to greedily drink the offered water.

“Easy now. Don’t make yourself sick, Freckles.” There was the voice he’d associated with comfort. He made a questioning sound, his confusion seeping through the air.

“I’m sure you are very disoriented right now. Can you open your eyes for me?” Strange voice questioned with a gentle tone. They also seemed safe but not to the extent of his saviour.

Izuku obeyed the voice anyway and opened his eyes to the world. It wasn’t bright and he wasn’t in a hospital. He knew he wasn’t from the scents and sounds around him, but now he could tell for sure that he was in an apartment rather than any medical building. Gold and green greeted him and he got a look at the soft, new voice.

“I’m Nymph. Not quite a doctor but I’m the closest some people will get.” They were green, that was the most noticeable. Pale, mint green skin, dark forest green curls, lime green eyes with golden pupils. They looked almost other-worldly. “Are you up for talking?”

“W-where am I?” He managed to choke out. Nothing around him was recognizable.

“That’d be my place.” The safe voice entered his ears once more. He eagerly turned to finally be able to look at his saviour. His jaw fell open. “I’m Dabi.”

Izuku recognized him right away. After Class A’s disaster of a summer camp, he’d been clued in on the identities of the villains. The teachers at the time had been worried that with his connections to the class, he’d be a target. Especially since his mate, ex-mate, had been the one kidnapped. Dabi’s face wasn’t one he’d ever be able to forget. Not only was it memorable, but it was the one that haunted Kacchan’s nightmares for months. He froze in shock, staring at the man.

“I see you know who I am. Relax, Freckles, if I wanted you dead I would’ve just left you in that alley. I’m not gonna hurt you.” Izuku knew that. He’d known from the moment he’d first gained semi-consciousness that this person was safe for him. He didn’t know why, especially now that he actually knew who his helper was, but it was certain. Dabi was someone he could rely on.

“What happened?” He began to ask. As soon as the words left his mouth he was hit with the last thing he could remember clearly. “My babies! Oh god, are my babies okay?” One look at Nymph and Dabi’s faces told him everything he needed to know.

“I’m so sorry, Freckles.”

“I did everything I could, sweetheart.”

“No, no, no, nononono.” He could feel his heart shatter even further. What would even be the point of living now? He’d truly lost everything now.

“I was only able to save one of the fetuses.” Nymph continued, cutting of Izuku’s spiral. He looked up at them with wide, teary eyes.

“Wh-what?” His voice cracked. Hope flooded through his body as he moved his hand to rest on his stomach. “I’m still pregnant?”

“Yeah, Freckles. You’ve got a pup in there.” Dabi gently brushed a curl away from Izuku’s eye as tears fell freely.

The young omega mourned the loss of his second unborn child while crying with joy at the fact that he didn’t lose the both of them. He’d probably always wonder what his lost pup would’ve been like. Which of his former mates would they have taken after? Would they have looked like him? He’d never know and his heart ached at that. He mourned a tiny bundle of cells that never got to even have a heartbeat.

“You are extremely high-risk right now. You need to limit your stress, emotionally and physically. You cannot afford to go into another drop. Both you and your baby could die if that happens.” Nymph warned with a grave tone. They went on to walk him through his condition and what they’d helped him within the eight(EIGHT!) days he’d dropped. Izuku couldn’t help but think that Nymph was far kinder and easier to be around compared to Recovery Girl who often berated him for coming in injured.

The not-quite-a-doctor doctor left once they’d finished, leaving Izuku with a way to reach them if he needed to. He felt exhausted despite having been in and out of consciousness for over a week. He spotted his bag, looking unopened and untouched, against the wall just outside of the nest he was in. That’s when he realized that the clothes he was wearing were not his own. He turned to Dabi with a questioning glance.

“I changed you. I didn’t want to go through your shit but I wasn’t going to let you in my nest wearing the clothes you’d been laying in an alley in. I didn’t let anything happen to you, I swear. Nymph is one of the good alphas, though.” Dabi explained, climbing into the nest with a cup of water. He handed it to the boy who gratefully accepted it. “I’m not gonna make you tell me anything, but do I need to kill anyone? You were in real bad shape when I found you.”

Memories of that alpha that cornered him in his classroom hit Izuku full force. The hands and teeth that touched places he never wanted anyone other than his mates to touch. The fear he felt when he screamed and nobody came to him despite being a building full of heroes and hopefuls. The pain he was in walking back to his dorm ready to fall into his mates’ arms and sob his heart out. The bite marks and bruises and loss of his mating bond.

“I was supposed to be safe there!” The young omega wailed, throwing the now empty cup at the wall. It shattered on impact which only made him cry even harder. “It was supposed to be safe. I was finally happy. It was all so perfect. Why?! What did I do wrong? Why wasn’t I saved? Did I deserve it? Did I lead him on somehow? Give the wrong signals? I just don’t understand!”

“Hey now!” Dabi pulled his hands from his head where he’d started pulling at dark green curls. He held both of the much smaller hands in his warm grasp. Smokey scents of comfort and safe now filled his nose. “Nothing you did or didn’t do resulted in whatever happened. I mean, I can take a wild guess, but it wasn’t your fault. That kind of thing is never the victims fault, do you hear me. Even if you had lead him on, teased and flirted with him, that would never make that your fault. You did not deserve what happened to you. Do you understand me?”

Izuku nodded numbly, with hiccuping sobs and falling tears. A scarred hand reached up to his cheek and brushed the tears away from under his right eye. “Why didn’t they save me? Why did they hurt me too?”

“I don’t know, Freckles. I really don’t know. If I ever find out who hurt you, I’ll burn them to a crisp.” The protective growl in Dabi’s throat sounded more alpha than the omega his scent gave off, yet it didn’t frighten Izuku in the slightest. Anger welled up in the teen instead.

“He’s a second year hero student at UA.” Izuku hissed, sitting up and clenching Dabi’s hands. “It happened right in my class and I was expelled before I even got back to my dorms. They threw me out just like that.”

Familiar burning rage filled up the elder omega. He could see it reflected in the dulled green eyes across from him. He thought about the condition he’d found the boy in, completely unconscious and drenched in sweat. Blood welled up on cuts that looked to have come from nails. Bitemarks and bruises and ruffled clothes that told tales of what activities had occurred. His inner omega had screamed at him to not leave the teen there to die. He couldn’t have walked away even if he’d wanted to. He could practically see himself right where the boy was. Nobody had been there to help Touya. Dabi wasn’t letting that happen to anyone else, not if he could help it.

“I want that school to burn, Dabi. Will you help me?”

“I would like nothing more.” He smirked and it was a dangerous thing. This kid was going to destroy everyone involved in the injustice he’d gone through and Dabi was more than excited to be invited along for the ride.

xXx

Despite dreams of revenge, Izuku wasn’t in any state to follow through with any of his plans. His body was weak and he was forced to be extra careful and stress-free for the sake of his remaining pup. That didn’t stop him from scheming of course. He found there was no greater stress relief than imagining all the ways he could make his former pack and school suffer.

Dabi was a steady presence throughout his recovery, sticking by his side and helping him with everything he needed. He was more considerate than his ex-mates, attuned to what his body needed and when. It could’ve been passed off as an omega thing, but none of the omegas Izuku had known in the past were this kind. It was more like Dabi was taking the place of Eichan and Kacchan as a mate. He was more dutiful and kind than them. Izuku often came second or even third to the alphas’ hero work and class.

The young omega spent most of his time curled up in his saviour’s nest and resting. Eventually, bruises faded and open cuts scarred. Before he knew all evidence that he’d been assaulted vanished. With that, his strength grew, allowing him to move around more without assistance. Nymph came and went, keeping an eye on his and his baby’s health. With his body getting better, Izuku’s mind raced with all the possible revenge plans he could enact.

Just straight up burning the school down sounded fun in theory but unlikely in practice. The fire wouldn’t even be able to spread very far before being put out, which would make it disappointing. That went for any other physical attack against the school. They were capable of defending themselves physically.

The more appealing option, one capable of being carried out, was far darker. Izuku had been in that school for months. He interacted with heroes on the daily and lived with Class A. He knew them inside and out, their quirks, personalities, home life, everything. Between straight up being told to overhearing things he shouldn’t to picking up on little clues in people. Izuku knew everything. If that knowledge were to become public, he wondered what would happen. His partner in crime, caretaker, and friend - Dabi - was all in for whatever the teen chose.

Dabi was a strange yet perfect addition in his life. The two fit together as though they’d been around each other their whole lives. For someone who was supposed to be a villain, the scarred omega was so heart wrenchingly kind and gentle. After just a week(coherent and conscious) in his presence, Izuku trusted the man with his life. He had taken ages to open up to his former pack and mates. Despite knowing Kacchan forever, they had a violent past that left the little omega with trust issues. Dabi bypassed them by jumping the gate and making himself at home.

It took six months for Izuku to heal enough to be outside the risk of another drop and losing his and his pup’s life. In that time, his belly grew with his strength and his fondness for the older omega. A half-year spent with nothing but the other’s company was bound to build a strong bond, but it was more than that. Izuku never felt stifled or uncomfortable with Dabi. He always felt safe, even when the man came back covered in soot and blood(his or someone else’s, Izuku never asked).

At one point during his recovery, Dabi went into a heat. Instead of finding an alpha or locking himself in his room, the older omega had snuggled up to Izuku in his nest and doted on his every desire. It vaguely reminded the teen of when he was young and his mom would curl around him during her heats, refusing to let him go and covering him in her scent. It was nice and he wanted to spend his own heats like that in the future, cuddled up with a loved one drowning in their scent. Sex was okay, but not nearly as appealing.

After his heat, the two omegas were closer than ever. They shared the nest and could hardly differentiate their scents. Both boys were covered in campfire and jasmine and pine and cherry blossom. Dabi gave his real name and Izuku revealed his past. They’d sit side by side in front of the elder’s laptop working on the younger’s plans or just watching a movie.

Izuku wondered why on earth belonging to an Alpha was all those adult omegas liked to talk about when discussing his. Why did he give himself up so young to two alphas and why was he allowed? Omegas know omegas and they were one hundred percent nicer to be around. Softer, kinder, nicer scents, more attuned, no obnoxious knot that was just uncomfortable, no violent ruts that leave him sore, just all around better. What did that say about him, that he preferred a fellow omega over alphas? He didn’t care.

xXx

“There were cameras in the classroom.” Izuku growled, pushing himself away from the laptop on the table so he wouldn’t throw the device. “There were fucking cameras! The footage is still there. They didn’t even try to find out what happened and if they had, they didn’t cover it up.”

Dabi’s rage met Izuku’s as he watched the footage play out on the screen. Nausea built up in his stomach and throat watching the violent scene in front of him. Izuku didn’t seem to notice he left it playing as he paced like an angry tiger in a cage, hand rubbing his swollen belly for comfort.

“Are you going to reveal that or keep it secret?”

“I don’t even give a fuck anymore. All of Japan will see what UA let happen without even trying to cover it up. I’m not ashamed. I was violated , I am furious and they are going to pay. All of them.”

“Burn the world, baby. I’m right behind you.”

.

“Dabi! Come here quick!” Izuku exclamation left the man running to the young omega’s side.

“What is it? Is something wrong? Do I need to call Nymph?”

“Shut up and give me your hand.” The teen interrupted, amusement colouring his voice.

Dabi listened and his hand was gently placed on Izuku’s prominent baby bump. His warm hand rested sandwiched between the bare skin of his stomach and hand. He sat still, not moving, curious as to what he was supposed to do when he felt it. It was faint at first, then more solid. He could feel movement and he gasped.

“Is that the baby?” He whispered, as though talking to loud would scare the pup somehow.

“Yeah, she’s kicking.”

“She?”

“Well, they I suppose, but it just feels like she’s gonna be a girl. Mother’s intuition and all that.”

“She’s perfect, I just know it. I can’t wait to meet her.”

“You and me both, Dabi.”

.

“After we expose UA we should leave Japan.”

“You’d come with us?”

“Of course I would. Unless you don’t want me. . .”

“Yes! I want you! . . . To come, I mean. You are welcome to come with me and the baby.”

“Where will we go?”

“I think Ireland.”

“Ireland?”

“They have the highest quirkless population and more laws in place to protect us. I researched it back when I was in middle school”

“Okay. To Ireland we go.”

xXx

It was the biggest power move of the century when Izuku dropped his information on the unsuspecting world. Dozens upon dozens of crimes that UA had covered up were thrust into the open. The pasts of many of their students who should never have been allowed to step into the school were revealed. Over night, what had been the nation’s top high school had fallen far and fast. It was chaotic and it was beautiful.

All that dirty laundry was aired out by the teen who just up and vanished as soon as it became public. Ireland welcomed the pregnant omega and his partner with open arms and promised a safety that they would uphold. It was a drast difference from the quirk obsessed Japan they had come from.

Not even a month later, Kaida Hajimari was brought into the world and loved immensely by the two omegas. Izuku and Dabi had chosen a new family name to shed themselves of their past and bloodline to start over. It was unusual for two omegas to be mates, but the two were practically soulmates so no one minded.

Kaida was four when Izuku and Dabi officially formed a mating bond and nine when they shared their chosen new name. She grew up to have bright green eyes, a face full of freckles, and curly blonde hair. She never gained a quirk but had a big heart and loved helping people. Nothing but her hair colour connected her to her sire and she was raised surrounded by love.
