Work Text:
Buck rolls his shoulders and stretches his neck as he shoves his duffle bag back in his locker. The end of a double shift with countless calls. He can’t even remember how many and the last one had been a nightmare that he never wants to relive, never wants to think about again. He shuts his locker and leans against the cool metal and just breathes out for a moment.
“Evan…”
His name is whispered directly into his ear. He shivers as the man’s arms encircle his waist. Buck hadn’t even heard him sneak up. He sighs again and smiles. He pushes back against Eddie, trying to get away. Despite both changing, his skin is clammy and he can feel that Eddie’s is the same. But the other man doesn’t let up and instead leans his head on Buck’s shoulder. “Eddie.” Buck says, more of a whine in his voice than he means. “Come on, I just wanna go home.”
Eddie pulls Buck away from the lockers and spins him. He moves his arms from Buck’s hips to his neck and smiles. “I can’t stop this feeeeeeling.”
Buck was mildly enjoying Eddie’s hands on him despite his complaints. Until the ex-soldier opened his mouth and started to sing. Eddie is good at a lot of things. Great, even. But singing is not one of them. The man cannot carry a tune. Buck shakes his head and tries to back up but Eddie is holding too tight to him. “Eddie…”
“Deeeeeep insiiiiide of meeee!” Eddie continues.
Buck manages to twist out of Eddie’s embrace and he darts back. He holds up his hands and shakes his head. “Eddie…”
Eddie smiles and follows. “Boy, you just don’t realize… what you do to me…”
“Eddie!”
“When you hold me, in your arms so tight…”
Buck glances around. They’ve slowly gained an audience and Chimney is smirking rather widely at him and beside him, Hen has her phone out, recording it. Buck promptly flips them off before darting towards Eddie. He grabs the front of the other man’s shirt and starts pulling on him.
Eddie laughs and continues singing. “You let me know, everything’s alriiiiight…”
“We’re going home.” Buck announces loudly as he steers them towards the front of the station.
“I-I-I-I-I’m… hooked on a feeeeeeling.” Eddie sings out even louder.
Buck flinches at the volnme as he pushes the doors open.
“I’m high on believing…”
Buck pulls Eddie through and releases him. Then he turns and nods his head and waves his arms. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m in love with you.”
Eddie frowns for a moment, pouting. “Aw Buck! You ruined it!”
Buck rolls his eyes and grabs Eddie again. “Come on and I’ll hold you tight.”
