It was supposed to be an easy mission. A C-rank Mission at most.
It was a simple mission Meet up with Jiraiya and Naruto at the meet-up spot give them a scroll—Squeeze the daylight out of Naruto and Thank Jiraiya for taking Naruto in his care—Then part ways and go back with Kakashi to the village.–—Now Iruka was confused about why Kakashi was going with him but figured that it was because he also taught Naruto and that Jiraiya could trust him—But of course, Kami decided to mess with fate, and so here Iruka is with Kakashi running away from some Rouge Nin that are trying to get the location of Naruto and Jiraiya.
Jumping to another branch Iruka quickly hid behind the tree and watched as Kakashi did the same, they knew the enemies were on them but they didn’t want to get in a fight when they could easily avoid a fight. Meeting eye contact Kakashi made a few hand signals before a clone appeared, Getting the idea Iruka made his clone before looking at Kakashi who singed towards him ‘Fake a distraction, well send the clones out and get them off our tails’ With a nod, Iruka looked at his clone who nodded and jumped away with the clone Kakashi. With a nod, the two stayed hidden before they were sure the enemies were gone, with a nod they started back on to their original task, “I don’t know about you but that was a little too close” Iruka said as he tried to focus on jumping to the next branch instead of the small tickle prickling his neck and the itch in his fingers to preform the only thing still tying him to his family. “It was under control,” Kakashi said barely glancing at the teacher. With a sigh Iruka let the conversation go as the two hopped through the trees and could only hope that the feeling was just the nerves of being back in the field—-be it a simple mission but a mission nonetheless—- he just hoped that everything goes well _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Iruka was new to the village hidden in the leaves, his parents came from a small two-bedroom house in the Village Hidden in the waterfalls, His father was a hunter while his mom was a healer but mostly stayed home since the most serious injury was the occasional flue or cold that the child couldn't seem to get over. He had known nothing but his small village and of the water, it was a tradition in his clan to wait for the child of the family to be old enough to start having interest was when they would finally get their name, as far as he could remember Iruka was always attracted to the water and when he was old enough to swim his parents had to bribe him to get out of the water.
Thus earning him the name Iruka which translates to dolphin. The first time Iruka had met Kakashi he was 12 while Kakashi was 15, Kakashi and his team were coming back to their village and had stopped by his small town to rest, he had met Kakashi when he was sent out to get his mother some water.

Iruka hummed as he walked towards the small river while he balanced a medium Jug on his head he hummed a small tune as he sat down by the river unaware of the set of eyes on him from the forest, dipping his fingers into the water he giggled as he felt the chakra of the fish go up to his fingers and down his spine, he had always been sensitive to everyone's and everything Chakra’s his whole clan was in fact. Swerling his fingers through the water Iruka smiled, before he took out his ponytail and combine it with his hands.
“ My own Home My own home, My own Home, My own home~” Iruka started as he started to put his hair in different styles, as he hummed before leaving it down for the moment as a fish caught his eye, making him smile unaware of a certain trio observing him from the wood,
“Who is that” Kakashi whispered as he observed the brunette who played with the water, “Don’t know but judging from their clothes they must be from the village hidden in the waterfalls the one sensei talked about,” Obito said as he pointed out the different shades of blue on the Burnett, “I can’t tell if they are a girl or not, they walk like a girl but holds themself like a boy and sounds like both” Rin said as she observes the Burnett, “Imma get a closer look,” Kakashi said before he moved quietly through the brush, making the two other individuals look at him with wide eyes “wait what Kakashi doesn't come back!” Obito whispered out only for Kakashi to glance back but not stop moving towards the brunette, “I'll be quick I've never seen a waterfall citizen before” Kakashi replied, “well now you have pulse what if they have a weapon?”. Obito questions only to be ignored as Kakashi climbed a tree to get a better advantage point.
Kakashi slowly inched towards the humming male who had sat back up and went back to trying to put their hair up before giving up and grabbing his Jug and filling it with water.
“Father’s hunting in the forest. Mother’s cooking in the home. I must go to fetch the water, ‘till the day I am grown, ‘till I'm grown, ‘till I'm grown” The male sang making Kakashi blink in surprise at his voice, “I Must go to fetch the water ‘till the day that I am grown” The male sung before looking up towards Kakashi after seeing him in the water's reflection, His brown doe eyes meeting with Kakashi's coal ones as Brown hair framed his face his bangs curling close towards his cheeks and one touching the scar covering his face the male blinked up at Kakashi before smiling up at him making Kakashi lean his body weight away from the sudden look only for the branch he was on to suddenly to break causing him to fall into the river, he quickly sat up and scrambled away as the boy giggled before singing as he put his hair up in a ponytail,
“Then I will have a handsome husband and a child of my own and ill send them to fetch the water, I'll be cooking in the home” The male sang out as he looked where Kakashi was peaking out of his hiding place making him flinch back, The male merely smiled before humming as he put the jug on top of his head and standing up to walk away aware of the fact Kakashi was slowly following him along with Obito and Rin,
“And ill send them to fetch the water, I'll be cooking in my home” the boy sang as he cast a small glance over his shoulder to see Kakashi hiding in the bush along with other Chakra signatures following close behind, deciding to bring the boy out of hiding the boy turned his back before pushing the jug off his head before acting like he was surprised watching as Kakashi grabbed the empty jug before filling it up with water and turning to look at the brunette. The brunette didn’t move to take the jug back or to talk to Kakashi he merely smiled at him before gracefully walking away like he was made of water.
Kakashi had followed him to the village where he had met up with Rin and Obito and where the boy had to lead them to his parents where he was introduced as Iruka and the three came to learn he was quite shy which explains why he didn’t interact with Kakashi back at the river. Iruka’s parents lead the three to the leader's house who had offered them a place to stay and rest up before they left for their village.
That was honestly the last time the three had thought they would see Iruka.
