Yuuri practically skipped back to his chambers. He was sweaty and gross, and needed to take a bath. But it wouldn’t hurt to stop by his chambers on the way and see his fiance.
Wolfram had left pretty quickly once the game ended. Yuuri didn’t take it personally, though. Wolfram wasn’t a fan of crowds. Or of being out in the sun for hours on end on a hot summer afternoon. Or baseball in general, for that matter.
But he still showed up. And he definitely saw Yuuri score that awesome home run!
When Yuuri reached his chambers, Wolfram was seated on the bed, taking off his boots.
“Hey, Wolf!” he said. “Did you see that home run?” He knew he was beaming like a kid on Christmas, and he felt kind of silly about it. But he couldn’t help it.
Wolfram feigned indifference. “Yes, everyone saw it,” he said, sticking his nose in the air like he was above it all. He was definitely intentionally trying to be irritating.
Two could play at that game.
Yuuri pushed Wolfram down into the bed, enjoying the small yelp Wolfram let out. “What, are you ignoring me?” he said, still grinning broadly.
Wolfram just scoffed, and tried his best to look dignified in the compromising position.
Yuuri leaned forward and kissed him.
It wasn’t their first kiss, or even their second. They usually just kissed before bed, though, quickly and chastely. The kisses were always nice, though.
Yuuri’s brain still panicked about it sometimes, tried to tell him it was wrong, that he must have his wires crossed, that he’d spent so much time around Wolfram that he must’ve gotten confused and started thinking of Wolfram as a girl.
But Wolfram wasn’t a girl, not at all. And yet Yuuri liked kissing him. It wasn’t gross, or weird. Wolfram’s lips were always soft, and sweet, and surprisingly gentle against his. His favorite thing about it, though, was the way it made Wolfram melt. No matter how stressed Wolfram seemed, he always softened against Yuuri’s lips. His other favorite thing was the way it always made Wolfram blush whenever Yuuri kissed him in public.
Wolfram was normally so confident when it came to this kind of stuff- more so than Yuuri, at least. Wolfram never had to struggle with the fact that Yuuri was a man. So it felt extra satisfying whenever Yuuri could make Wolfram be the flustered, out-of-sorts one, for once.
But even though he’d made Wolfram blush dozens of times by now with kisses…this kiss felt different.
Yuuri held the kiss longer, lingering against Wolfram’s lips. He pressed Wolfram’s arms down against the bed, pressed their chests together, addicted to the feeling of having Wolfram in his grasp.
Just try and ignore me now, Wolf!
He finally released Wolfram’s lips, and raised his head to get a good look at Wolfram beneath him. His arms still gripped Wolfram’s, though.
Wolfram squirmed a bit, and Yuuri grinned again and tightened his grip. Wolfram would have to try harder than that!
Wolfram’s face was flushed a delicate shade of pink. It suited him. His eyes were wide open, pupils dilated as he stared up at Yuuri. He was panting slightly, too. Why was he panting? He wasn’t the one who just finished playing a baseball game- winning the hell out of a baseball game!- after all.
“Let me up, you pervert!” Wolfram finally protested, squirming harder.
Okay, fine. Game over!
Yuuri released Wolfram’s arms and backed up, letting Wolfram scramble away from him.
Once Wolfram was out from underneath him, the reason for all that panting and flushing became very prominently obvious.
“Oh,” said Yuuri articulately. Huh. He’d never done that to Wolfram before- not knowingly, anyway.
He should have been freaked out by this, right? But he found he didn’t really mind. If nothing else, it was flattering. And Wolfram did look really cute all flustered like that.
“Don’t you have to go take a bath or something?” Wolfram grumbled. His face was still pink, and he was shifting his legs nervously, as if he was trying to hide himself.
Yuuri could take a hint. He’d leave Wolfram be.
….After teasing him one more time.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come with me?” he asked, smiling again. Really, Wolfram made it too easy to tease him! If he didn’t want to be teased, he should stop being so adorable!
Wolfram turned bright red. “Out. Now,” he ordered, pushing Yuuri towards the door.
Yuuri didn’t resist. Wolfram probably needed some alone time to take care of his little problem, anyway.
Well, not so little.
Yuuri did feel a little guilty, though. Maybe he shouldn’t have gone so far with his teasing. But he couldn’t help but relish the feeling of having the advantage over Wolfram like that.
No, not ‘advantage.’ That sounded wrong, like he’d been trying to take advantage of Wolfram. That wasn’t it.
He just…enjoyed being able to affect Wolfram like that. It didn’t feel wrong, like it was probably supposed to. It felt natural. Like it was what they were meant to do.
Well, they were fiances, after all. So technically, it was expected, wasn’t it?
But expected wasn’t really a reason to do something. And it definitely wasn’t why Yuuri had enjoyed that. Expected didn’t explain the warm bubbly feeling in his chest.
He climbed into the warm water and sighed, leaning back against the wall of the bath.
There was no going back now, was there?
He was supposed to be freaking out right now. He was supposed to be scared. And he was, a little. Scared of what this would mean, scared of not knowing what to do next.
But mostly…all he wanted to think about was how to get Wolfram to react like that again.
