"Did you call your parents?" Kazehaya asked and sat down her suitcase next to the bed.
"Yes. They said they don't mind me staying here because we're both adults now but to be careful and visit them every day." He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a tight embrace.
"I'm glad." He whispered in her ear, causing her her heart to skip a few beats.
"I missed you..." She replied and looked up at him.
"I missed you too." He replied. She reached her hand up and lightly touched his hair.
"Your hair is shorter!" Sawako said in surprise. He pulled at a piece of his bangs with a blushing smile.
"Yeah, I thought about sending you a pic but then I decided to see if you would notice or not."
"You're so mean!" She said playfully. "Of course, I would notice! It looks good on you." She said with a sweet smile.
"Yep. I am!" He joked. "But thanks." Kazehaya looked at his alarm clock. "It's later than I thought and I'm sure you're tired from the trip here. You can have the first bath if you want."
"I'll do that. Thank you!" She grabbed her toiletries and pajamas from her bag and then went into his bathroom. Kazehaya walked into the kitchen and began preparing tea for them. Having her here always felt strange. It made his heart race but at the same time, it felt so right. He wondered what it'd be like to do this all the time. Cook dinner together, and talk about their day. The thought made his face feel hot and he couldn't help but cover it in embarrassment. After several minutes he heard the bathroom door open. "Do you need any help?" Sawako asked.
"It's almost done. Are you hungry?" She shook her head.
"No, I had a bento on the train." Her arms went around his waist and she laid her head against his back. She couldn't see it but he had a serene look on his face. The kettle screeched then, alerting them that the tea was ready.
"Go sit down, I thought we could watch a movie while we have our tea." She unlinked herself and sat on his bed in front of the TV. He poured a glass for himself and another into Sawakos mug. He handed her the drink then pushed some buttons on the remote, turned off the lights, and sat next to her.
"What are we watching?" She asked and took a sip.
"I got that romantic one you've been wanting to see." Her eyes lit up and her mouth went wide with excitement. Kazehaya pushed play and the movie began. She took another sip and snuggled into him, resting her head against the crook of his neck. He slipped an arm around her waist and laid his head against hers. He smiled contentedly, enjoying the expressions she made throughout. 'Please call me by my first name!' The actress cried out dramatically on screen. 'Very well... Hitomi.' The male actor replied in a deep tone before kissing the woman. Sawako gasped during the plot twists and sniffled during a sad scene then cried at the end when the couple got together. "Are you okay?" He asked. She nodded.
"It was just really good!" She sniffled. He sighed and stood up to wash their cups. "I can help if you want!"
"Naw just sit there, it's fine." She didn't look pleased about it but did as he said.
"Ummm, is everything alright, Kazehaya-kun?" She asked with worry. He sat back down next to her with a small frown.
"Yeah... Actually, no that was a lie."
"It wasn't something I did, was it? I'm so sorry if it was!" He shook his head at her.
"No it wasn't you at all. It's just... Why don't we call each other by our given names?" Her face turned bright red in surprised embarrassment.
"Well, umm, I guess I just thought it was rude of me to do that and I've called you Kazehaya-kun for so long and, uh, well-" He tipped her chin upwards to look into her eyes.
"I want you to call me Shota." He stated. "And I want to call you Sawako." She looked nervously back at him before swallowing. "Can you say it for me?"
"S-sh-ota...-kun..." She slowly stammered out.
"Now without the honorifics, Sawako." Her eyes widened.
"Sho...ta..." Her hands went to his chest.
"Again..." He said softly and slowly leaning towards her. The look in his eyes and the husky tone of his voice sent a shiver down her spine.
"Shota..." She whispered back. Their lips met as soon as she said his name then he pulled back slightly. "I love you, Shota."
"Keep saying it, Sawako..." He said against her skin while kissing up and down her neck.
"Shota!" She said breathlessly. He kissed her again but deeper, causing her to let out a soft moan before pushing her backward and pulling the covers over them.

Kazehaya found himself suddenly awake. He sat up in bed and looked at the clock on his nightstand. It read two thirty in the morning. He sighed and looked over at his girlfriend who seemed to be sleeping soundly. Kazehaya adjusted the blanket that slid off of her shoulders and watched her for a little while with a small, content smile. He remembered the moment he first saw Sawako Kuronuma. Her porcelain skin, her long, flowing black hair, and her sweet, innocent eyes. The vision of her standing on the road with cherry blossoms falling around her like snow. He asked her directions and told her to thank you then she looked taken aback by it as if it was a foreign concept to her. Her cheeks seemed to be in a constant state of blushing.
He was happy to see they were in the same classroom but then people whispered such mean and seemingly impossible things to say about such a delicate-looking girl. When it was time to switch desks, no one wanted to sit next to her. He didn't understand how they could be so cruel. He moved to sit next to her then his friends Ryuu, Chizuru, and Ayane followed. He's grateful every day that he chose to do that. He couldn't imagine life without her now. It certainly wouldn't be one worth living.
He moved to stand up but was stopped by the feeling of his shirt being pulled. "I'm just getting some water." He whispered. "Do you want some?" Sawako sat up and nodded her head sleepily. He went to the fridge to retrieve two water bottles and handed one to her. "Let's try to get some more sleep." He suggested after they'd had their fill of water. Kazehaya set the bottles on the nearby table and lay down. Sawako joined him, snuggling against him when his arms pulled her into his chest.
"I love you, Shota." She sighed happily before drifting back to sleep. He stayed awake for a little while longer, just watching her even breathing.
"I love you too, Sawako." He whispered into her hair while a blissful warmth spread through his heart.
