Work Text:

If there was one thing that Kai'sa regrets in this lifetime of hers, is that she will never get to see the love of her life again.

Currently, she was slumped against a brick wall. The brick wall was stained with crimson red as blood trickled down the side of her head. A hole punctured in the side of her stomach.

Her entire body was in pain and her breathing was unsteady. She was doing everything in her power to stay awake. The moment she closes her eyes, they would never open again, never to see light again.

Time went by slowly as she continued to try and get the bleeding to stop. She was praying hard that someone would find her so that she wouldn't rot to death here and eventually have her body crawling with insects.

Her body temperature becomes colder as she loses more blood, a pool of blood soon forms around her and her pale white skin is now stained.

She winces as another wave of pain strikes her, leaving her groaning in pain as she falls to the side, no longer having the energy to sit up again.

"Damn, I'm gonna die like this?" She mumbled, losing her will to stay awake.

That is, til she feels a warm hand on her shoulder pulling her up to sit against the wall once again. Kai'sa adjusted her eyes to look at the person in front of her, wondering who it was that stumbled upon her.

She couldn't really make out the person until she hears the voice she loves. She could never mistake it. "Ahri..?" She weakly calls out which causes her side to hurt again.

A finger then pressed against her lips, trembling. "Shut up.. Don't talk.." Ahri said, her voice trembling as she brought a phone call to her ear, most likely calling the ambulance.

"It's no use," Kai'sa mumbled, "They wouldn't reach here in time."

Ahri ignored Kai'sa, continuing to get the ambulance to come quicker.

"Why bother trying?" Kai'sa asked, her eyes moving to look away from Ahri's face. She was staring at the sky now, looking at the moving clouds as she took a deep breath in despite her body hurting.

"Kai'sa.. stop talking. Anymore and you will really bleed to death.." Ahri pleaded, her hands reaching to grab Kai'sa's as she embraced the dying girl.

Kai'sa tried to escape her hold, "Don't.. you'll get dirty.." She complained, but instead she got pulled in closer. Ahri was afraid that if she loosened her grip, she would forever lose Kai'sa.

Kaisa soon gave up trying to resist, just choosing to accept it. She leaned into warm body of Ahri. Unlike Kai'sa, she was warm, very warm. Ahri's heart was also beating extremely fast.

"Don't die here. Please.." Ahri begged.

".. Okay."

"You promise?"

"Mhm, I promise."

"Good. Now, don't say anything and wait for the ambulance to come."

After what felt like hours, Kai'sa could finally feel her body giving up, her pulse weakening by the second.

Fuck. She really was a bastard. How could she immediately break a promise right after making it?

"Ahri.. have i ever gotten the chance to tell you this?" Kai'sa mumbled, hoping Ahri couldn't hear her. It would be quite embarrassing.

"Mhm," Ahri hummed, unable to stop shaking.

"I like you. I like you a lot. Did you know that?" Kai'sa confessed, her eyes slowly giving out. Ahri didn't say anything, it wasn't because she didn't want to, but because she couldn't.

"I really like you. I regret not ever confessing sooner.. It's so pathetic that only now that i am on the verge of dying then i could confess my love to you," Kai'sa paused, smiling weakly, her body entire body was hurting. It took her all her will power to get these words out of her mouth.

"I regret not ever being there for you. I regret not being able to help you when it was your lowest. I.. if i had one wish in this lifetime.. I wish that I would have met you sooner.. so that you wouldn't have to suffer alone."

As Ahri hears this, she couldn't help but cry even harder. "I.." She sobbed, "I love you too. I love you so much, much more than you would ever know. So please.. Please don't die right now. I'm begging you. I really won't forgive you if you do. I really will hate you. Don't break the promise you made to me!" Ahri croaked out, choking on her sobs as she tried to form sentences.

Kai'sa could only laugh as she hears this, but her laughter soon turned into tears, "Im sorry." She choked, "Im sorry. Im.. really sorry."

"Stop apologizing.."

They both didn't say anything afterwards. Instead, they were both crying and only the beating of their hearts could be heard. Kai'sa knew it was time for her to go. She knew, but she was still desperately tired holding on to that small chance that she can live, that she will be able to continue being with the girl she loves.

The time has come. And Kai'sa took one final breath in, before closing her eyes with a smile plastered on her face. It was a smile that held many different emotions. Her heart then stopped beating, and she never once took in another breath.

"Kai'sa.."Ahri calls out, her heart in disbelief as she no longer feels the girls pulse anymore.

..

"Kai'sa! Don't fucking do this to me! You lied to me.. You broke our promise.." Ahri cursed. She knew Kai'sa didn't like it when she did. But she didn't get an answer. Of course she wouldn't.

She would never hear Kai'sa's voice again and would never hear Kai'sa's heart beat again. it will never beat again when she gets excited, it will never beat again when she feels fear, and most importantly, it will never once beat again for the girl she loves.

Ahri holds onto the now lifeless shell of the girl she loves, wailing loudly. Snot was all over her pretty face but she couldn't care anymore. There was nothing left to care about anymore.

There were no Kai'sa in the world anymore.

"You lied.."

"I hate you so much.. It hurts.."
