"My Maiden... You're here as well."
She's in a clearing outside of the Askr castle – alone for once – when the Black Knight appears before her, not a clatter to be heard despite his many plates of armor.
"Sir Knight!" Micaiah says happily. So she had been right! The rumors of the "mysterious black knight" she had heard for the past few days was indeed the man himself. She would have gone chasing the rumors days ago were it not for the strange but wondrous realm of Askr – where any hero could be summoned from any time, any world – making it hard to be certain about such hearsay. However, her judgment still seems intact even in another universe.
"It's been ages since I've last seen you in Tellius, so I'm really glad to see you here now!" With hands clasped, she leans close to the knight, drawing strength just from mere proximity.
She loves her companions and all those she fights for, but none among them can make her feel so secure just by their presence alone.
"Is that so?" His armor echoes.
"But now that you're here, protecting Askr shall be much easier and we'll be able to get back to Tellius sooner. Thank you so much for lending us your strength."
"If that is your wish, then I shall provide it."
And although she can't see his face, she knows he will do exactly that.
It really is good to have such a man by her side, she thinks.
When Micaiah turns away from the Black Knight for a moment to attend to Yune, who's suddenly flapping her wings wildly, she thinks she catches a snippet of his voice, much warmer and softer in tone.
"You are..."
But when she whips her head back around, he is silently standing at attention as if nothing had ever happened.
"Sir Knight?"
"Lead the way, my Maiden."
Micaiah cocks her head at him, but when no further explanation comes, she decides she must have been hearing things. That is fine and well, since they really should be on their way to Commander Anna anyway to see if there are any instructions for them.
"Please follow me then!"
You are resplendent here, my Maiden.
And though I am no longer in the world of the living in Tellius, if fighting for this kingdom is what you wish for, then I shall comply.
There is no need for Micaiah to hear these words at this time, Yune had decided.
Let the girl bask in her ignorance and bliss for longer.
