Working for Norman Osborn was a nightmare. He was cruel & relentless to every employee under his work. The only plus side you found was your best friend, Adrian Toomes. Adrian was a talented aerodynamics engineer & you were always amazed by his work. His flight technology blew your mind & you'd often ask him multiple questions about it. He was a nice man to people who were nice to him, especially you. The both of you became friends quickly after you joined OsCorp & have been nearly inseparable for months. You didn't want to tell him, or anyone, that you developed a crush on him. He was old enough to be your grandfather, for crying out loud! But, that didn't deter you, mainly because of how pleasant he made every conversation you had. Both of you stood up for & comforted each other very often. You both had it rough, but the day came where you both broke under the pressure & mistreatment.
"Osborn, you stole my work!" you heard. You'd recognize Adrian's voice anywhere & immediately ran towards him. Once you saw him arguing with Norman, you knew instantly that this was obviously Norman's fault. However, your own temper broke when you heard Norman say that Adrian was unsuccessful in his youth & that no one would believe he invited the Tech Flight Glider.
"Norman, I have seen his work many times before, he's very talented. You're really gonna insult one of your best engineers?" you yelled, catching everyone's attention. Adrian's eyes turned soft when he saw you, but Norman seemed to get very annoyed.
"Both of you are an absolute pain to work with. Luckily, you're easily replaceable. But, I can't fire you both at the same time." Norman growled. He turned his full attention to Adrian & fired him on the spot. You became so irate, you kicked Norman's shin & declared that you quit. Turning around, you walked out with Adrian at your side.
"(Y/n), why did you do that? I never thought you'd quit a job like that." Adrian said to you once you were outside. You bashfully held his hand & looked into his eyes, holding a determined stare. You figured that since you're both no longer under the work of a tyrant, it would be a little easier to confess your feelings for your best friend.
"Listen, Adrian, I need to come clean about something. I've loved you for a long time now, but I always thought it would ruin our friendship & make working together awkward." you said, slightly rushed. You turned your head away & shut your eyes, bracing for the words to confirm the end of your friendship.
Instead, you felt his hand turn your face towards him. You opened your eyes & saw that Adrian was smiling sweetly at you. Before you knew it, his lips met yours. You were shocked at first, but eventually gave in & kissed back, enjoying the love you were receiving.
"I've been wanting to ask you out on a date for the past few weeks, but I was scared of rejection. I never thought you'd feel the same. Come on, let me take you somewhere nice for dinner." Adrian said in a sickly sweet voice. You walked hand in hand with him, smiling as your heart soared. You were finally with the man you loved most.
