being new to dating, changmin and sunwoo were not perfect with hiding their relationship. here are the five times the members almost caught them. or not. sometimes the members are oblivious.
1. Juyeon
the boyz were practicing rigorously for their upcoming concerts, they wanted to give the fans the best performance as much as they could. during these times, changmin and juyeon were extra tired from leading the group with the choreography.
don’t get changmin wrong, he loved being the main dancer. performing was his passion, but everybody needs rest.
“okay! all of you are doing great! water break for ten minutes!” he says. although juyeon is also a main dancer, changmin is the one who mostly takes charge of the breaks.
changmin grabbed his water bottle and sat beside sunwoo who was resting. juyeon was sitting in front of them, but staring off to space, his form of resting.
“you okay, hyung?” sunwoo asked.
“yep. don’t worry about me. i’m used to it.”
“do you want a massage?”
“i don’t want to tire you out. you’re also tired.”
“what can i do to give you energy?”
“a kiss.” words slipped from changmin’s mouth, he totally didn’t intend to say that out loud. both him and sunwoo’s eyes widened, checking if juyeon heard him. it looks like he didn’t, phew.
unknown to them, juyeon heard it. he just thought changmin was teasing sunwoo, as sunwoo was known to ask deobis for kisses.
2. Kevin
after long schedules and jam-packed weeks, the group would usually schedule a movie night to relax. this movie night was no different from the others. haknyeon and eric sharing popcorn, sangyeon falling asleep mid movie, chanhee sushing hyunjae and younghoon, everything looked normal.
but something caught kevin’s eye. sitting on the couch were sunwoo, changmin, juyeon, and jacob. sunwoo and changmin were sharing a blanket and sunwoo was resting his head on changmin’s shoulder, nothing suspicious… except for the fact that they were holding hands under the covers. it was very visible that they were. kevin shrugged it off as maybe sunwoo was just cold and wanted to hold changmin. after all, they were very close to each other, him and jacob also do that. besides if they were really together, kevin was confident sunwoo would tell him. roommate privilege and all that.
3. Eric
they were filming a variety show today, the shot required a lot of energy, as there were games and punishments. eric noticed that sunwoo would always grab changmin’s wrist while talking to him, even during the game. he thought he was the mafia by doing that, he even pointed it out to the members, but nobody listened.
“look! sunwoo is holding changmin hyung’s wrist! that’s your mission, isn’t it?!” he accused.
“what kind of absurd mission?!” sunwoo defended himself.
“sunwoo just talks like that to changmin!” chanhee comes to his defense.
on the way home, they were in separate vans. van one members were him, haknyeon, changmin, sunwoo, and chanhee. almost all of them dozed off to dreamland while on their way home, they were tired from the shoot. however, eric was still half-awake so he heard something.
“hyung… cuddle?” he immediately knew it was sunwoo’s voice. he was sitting next to changmin.
even with eric’s eyes closed, he felt a shift of movement. eric opened his eyes a bit, changmin and sunwoo were cuddling. how cute! eric always knew sunwoo would be the little spoon, but it was so cute to see his changmin hyung be the big spoon.
4. Haknyeon
they were scheduled to film a group vlive today. right from the start, sunwoo kept clinging on to changmin. he was not able to sit beside him, so instead, he just stood at the back of him. haknyeon noticed something strange, he felt a glare from sunwoo every time he got a bit closer to changmin. to test this theory, haknyeon rested his head on changmin’s shoulder but sunwoo pulled them apart!
“i can’t hear changmin hyung!” sunwoo excused. haknyeon knew that was not the reason at all. he sucked at making excuses.
that was strange, he tried to get closer to eric, which was on his left side, but he did not get any glares from sunwoo. he would just get glares if he came closer to changmin. he then noticed sunwoo placed his arms around changmin’s shoulder, almost as if he’s claiming changmin, that nobody should rest their head on his shoulders.
haknyeon kept this encounter on the back of his head, he thinks sunwoo is developing actual feelings for changmin. and sunwoo clinging on to changmin nonstop after shooting only aided his suspicions. they sat beside each other at lunch, on the way home, at their dinner table… interesting.
5. Hyunjae
they were doing a photoshoot for a brand deal. hyunjae, sunwoo, and younghoon were the first ones to take their lunch break.
“sunwoo-yah! wait for me before you eat!” changmin shouts.
“alright, hyung!” sunwoo responds.
nobody thought this was suspicious, sunwoo and changmin being best friends helped with hiding their relationship, everyone just assumed they were just super close.
as sunwoo was waiting for changmin to finish his shoot, he sat beside hyunjae who was eating chicken.
“sunwoo-yah, do you want? hyung will feed you.” hyunjae offered.
as sunwoo was about to open his mouth, changmin entered the break room.
“yah! the betrayal!” he said.
“i didn’t even eat any!” sunwoo defends.
“don’t worry, changmin-ah. he didn’t eat anything yet. i was the one who offered.” hyunjae chuckles, unaware of changmin’s jealous mood.
sunwoo noticed it immediately, “hyung, sit here. i’ll get our food.”
“do you want chicken, changmin? i can give you some.”
“thank you hyung, but i’ll wait for sunwoo.”
“you guys always eat together nowadays. i should probably do that with younghoon too!” hyunjae says and gets up to eat with younghoon.
“i wanted to eat with you.” sunwoo said the moment he returned with food.
changmin glared at him. eating together was their bonding time.
“don’t get jealous, baby. you know i’ll always eat with you.” sunwoo whispered.
“you better mean that, kim sunwoo. or else.”
“or else what?”
“no kisses for a week.”
“you would never.”
“try me.”
changmin rarely got jealous. it was mostly sunwoo who got jealous, but when changmin does, it gives sunwoo butterflies in his stomach. he’s weird for that, he already knows.
meanwhile, hyunjae was sitting down with younghoon. he wondered why changmin and sunwoo always eat together, were they lunch buddies or something?
“younghoon, do you want to be my lunch buddy?”
“what?”
“like sunwoo and changmin, you could be my lunch buddy!”
younghoon coughs. if only hyunjae knew why.
+ 1 — Jacob
the boyz were extremely tired after filming. everybody just wanted to lay down and sleep for 12 hours straight. as everyone was preparing to sleep, jacob noticed that the door to changmin and chanhee’s dorm was slightly opened. he went to close it, but accidentally saw a peak of what was happening inside.
it was changmin and sunwoo… kissing? jacob’s eyes widened. was he hallucinating? was he just extremely tired and his brain was just making up things? he blinked hard to double check, they were indeed kissing! it was hard to miss when sunwoo’s hands were wrapped around changmin’s nape, it was clear that they were making out… oh dear! jacob just saw something he was not supposed to see. he quietly closed the door and went to his room.
are they dating…? if so, how long have they been doing this? why were they hiding from the group? but he’s certain that chanhee and sangyeon know about it, it's the most reasonable and logical choice to make. sangyeon is their leader and chanhee is their bestfriend, it would make sense if they both knew about this. questions about the two of them kept jacob awake for an hour. he couldn’t believe his eyes. guess not everyone was tired from the filming, as changmin and sunwoo still had the energy to make out.
but one thing is for sure, they did a good job hiding it. if it weren’t for what he saw today, he would not have suspected anything.
bonus — Chanhee.
chanhee just walked in on changmin and sunwoo making out. he wanted nothing more but to unsee that.
“oh my gah! give me a warning next time!” he scolded.
“we thought you were showering..” sunwoo said, his lips are still bright pink.
“i was. i didn’t know you guys had energy left to… do whatever you guys did.”
“we got energy from each other.” changmin answers.
“weirdos. please don’t do anything weird while im next to you guys.”
“can’t promise anything, hyung.” sunwoo teases.
chanhee sighs, why must he be the one to suffer?
