Work Text:
She walks in a dream that only she has dreamt
She feels with a glowing hand, soft but intent
She lifts her gaze, in the night she would sigh
As many stars in her eyes as there are in the sky
Lingering smiles and echoing words
She loves how it stings her, but hates how it hurts
In a dream where they both could feel the same
In the shadow of the mountain, his mind went insane
She revered him deeply, so stoic and tall
The most fearsome warrior and man of them all
Light curls and scarred lip from a fight long ago
Careful to not let anyone close, or to know
As she walked out of gates, head high and form bold
Cared not at all for the foolish, pious tales of old
But there he stood, watching men fighting men
And her noble heart belong to him again
This was not a sacred tale of the old histories
These were uncharted, untested, even wild, territories
He gazed at their leader, a mage and somewhat short
Shared some advice, and politely gave support
After the devastation of a fallen mountain
But before she was bathed, bound by a fountain
He revered but never quite gave his heart
She wishes she had known from the very start
Blue illumination from a tower at night
Lady with hand burning green with light
She floats and she hurries, to offer aid
She sees what's inside, and wishes she had stayed
She tells him to stop, to never do it again
She stands by him, to the bitter end
He says she’s in charge, she can order culmination
She responds that he only lacks determination
She wakes from a dream, eyes dazed and aching
As he stirs beside her, dream ending, and waking
She lies next to him, gives her Templar a plea
And thanks the Maker his mind is now free
