Nyx is determined to tell Noctis many stories about Crowe, and he knows just which one to start with.
“So your highness, you up for a little bit of story time?”
“Why not.” Noctis replied.
“I’ll start here, it was a normal looking day on Galahd, the sun was shining and the flowers in full bloom.”
Nyx remembers that day as if it was yesterday. He was taking Selena down to the eastern beach on their island when out of nowhere the clouds started to cover the sky. It’s not uncommon for random storms to pop up, but they usually have more warning than this. Nyx grabbed Selena and started pulling her back towards the jungle as the rain started falling.
As they were walking back home on their hidden paths through the jungle, they heard an extra set of footsteps.
“Nyx, what’s that?” Selena whispered too him.
“I don’t know, just follow me.”
Nyx guided her over towards some of the ferns on the ground.
“Stay here Selena, I’m gonna go try to find out what that was.”
“Okay, just don’t get hurt.” Selena said quietly.
“I’ll be fine kiddo.” Nyx told her.
Nyx grabbed his knife out of the sheath on his waist. He walked slowly towards where he initially heard the noise come from. He heard the sound of leaves crunching under somethings feet. He made his way closer to the noise before hearing a small yelp of pain. He quickly made his way in the direction of the sound. In a matter of seconds, he came across the figure of a young girl collapsed on one of the trails. He ran over to her and noticed that she had a couple of scrapes and a decently sized cut on her forehead. He moved her so that she was laying on her back before going back and getting Selena.
“Nyx where are we going?” Selena asked. “Home is the other way.”
“We’re going to help someone who needs it.” He replied.
A little bit of walking later they came upon the now conscious girl.
“L-leave me alone!” The girl yelled.
“We’re not gonna hurt you, we just want to make sure your okay.” Nyx told her calmly as he moved slowly towards her with his hands up.
She slowly stood up, as she stood she swayed lightly before catching her balance.
“What’s your name?” She asked.
“My name is Selena Ulric and this is my brother Nyx. What’s your name?” Selena asked.
“Crowe, my name is Crowe Altius.” She said.
Nyx remembered hearing a conversation between his parents about how the Altius family home by the southwestern beach had gone up in flames, and how other villagers hadn’t found any survivors. He figured it probably wouldn’t have been polite to bring it up.
“You should come home with us!” Selena told her.
“I don’t think I would be welcomed.” Crowe responded.
“Please, at least until your injuries heal.” Nyx said.
With a little more convincing they managed to get Crowe to come with them. A couple of times on the way back they had to take a break for Crowe so that she could collect a little more energy.
“And after that whole mess she grew on me, now she’s like a second younger sister.” Nyx told Noctis.
“I think she may be secretly thankful for you having come to her rescue.” Noctis told him.
“Oh I definitely am.”
“For the love of the six!” Nyx yelled.
“I’ve gotta get a bell for you.” Noctis told her
