It was a normal day for Kaoru, until it wasn't.

It was an ordinary Tuesday afternoon and classes had just finished and Kaoru was laying on his bed, scrolling through his phone whilst Yuuta had his headphones on and doing his homework.
It was peaceful and it was quiet until Nagisa had quickly barged into their shared dorm, panting.
"Kaoru-kun, I need a favour, please help me," Nagisa stated, between breaths and walked towards Kaoru's bed.
"Ran-kun, what's up?"
As Nagisa went to open their mouth, he shut it just as quick and a light blush began to appear on their cheeks.
"Ran-kun, are you okay? Do you have a fever? Do you want me to get medicine?" Kaoru began to ask and placed a hand on Nagisa's forehead to check for the aforementioned fever. This only made Nagisa blush more and they stepped back.
He shook his head. "No, Kaoru-kun, I'm fine, I don't have any fever. I need your help with something, please don't laugh."
When Kaoru stood there looking expectedly at Nagisa, they took a deep breath and tilted their head down and quickly said, "Kaoru-kun, please teach me how to kiss."
Kaoru stood with his mouth open and this is when Yuuta had also began listening to their conversation, concerned about Nagisa. Once he had heard what Nagisa asked however, he had quickly rushed out the door muttering various words including 'aniki', 'meeting', 'goodbye'.
Nagisa and Kaoru had both watched Yuuta run out the door and Kaoru turned back to Nagisa.
"You want me to... Teach you how to kiss, Ran-kun?" This received a replied nod.
Kaoru awkwardly scratched his head, "Ran-kun, why do you want to know that? And why are you asking me, of all people?"
Nagisa hummed in response.
"We're 17. I haven't had my first kiss, everyone has those by now! And you're experienced with girls, Kaoru-kun. It'd be best if you taught me. Plus, you're my best friend."
Kaoru blushed knowing how much of a playboy he seemed to everyone else. He wasn't. He liked company and from that company he got comfort. He wouldn't deem himself a 'playboy' but it's what it looks like compared to the rest of the school, supposedly.
Nagisa began to fiddle their fingers, nervously awaiting Kaoru's apply. He didn't receive one and Kaoru was still looking at him, looking for any hint of a joke but no, Nagisa was dead-serious about this and without wanting to possibly upset Nagisa's feelings, he said with a sigh, "Yes."

Thinking back, Kaoru isn't sure why he said 'yes'. Nagisa surely couldn't have been that sad had Kaoru said 'no' but now here they both are, facing each other on Kaoru's bed and Nagisa has a very eager look in his eyes as well as a glint of joy and Kaoru has never seen him look like this before, even when Nagisa was observing his rock collection he keeps on a nearby shelf.
"Okay, Kaoru-kun, please teach me how to kiss!"
Kaoru never has the heart to say 'no' to Nagisa. Nagisa told him when they first met how Nagisa hadn't seen half the items that you see in a normal day-to-day life and Nagisa began to spill out how he was kept hidden from the world for most of his childhood. Kaoru felt so bad for him, not being able to grow up with everything Kaoru had, and it made Kaoru want to do everything Nagisa had wished for from that day forth.
Nagisa was like a puppy right now, he had big eyes, a big smile and waiting for Kaoru to say the next sentence.
Kaoru still didn't know how to go about with this approach and hesitated some.
"Well, you start off by holding the person's hand-," Kaoru had began to say before he got cut off as Nagisa stretched out his hand and gently touched Kaoru's and after looking up and seeing Kaoru's blush, Nagisa smiled some and wrapped his hand around Kaoru's, holding it in his warm grasp.
"Uh. Uhm, Ran-kun. Uh. Well, anyway. You then tilt your head slightly and you slowly move your head towards the other person. And..." Kaoru drifted off as he saw Nagisa do exactly as he was saying. When Nagisa had asked Kaoru to teach him this, he didn't think Nagisa would then try to kiss him, his train of thought is all messy seeing Nagisa do this and Kaoru is stuck for words.
Nagisa then leant back to their original position but still holding onto Kaoru's hand.
"Yes!" he exclaimed, "I get it Kaoru-kun. It sounds simple actually. Thank you Kaoru-kun!" Nagisa squeezed Kaoru's hand before clambering off his bed and rushing out the dorm door.
Kaoru was left sitting there, completely clueless. This whole ordeal was so unlike Nagisa and it had shocked him. Nagisa had even tried to kiss Kaoru - that was the most surprising of all. Kaoru hadn't thought much about his feelings for Nagisa but he takes it that Nagisa doesn't know much about proper feelings. Proper romantic feelings. Nagisa probably thought it was a thing friends typically do and Nagisa was curious, that's all there was to it. Kaoru didn't think about it much further than this. Nagisa was just asking a friend for advice - slightly weird advice that Kaoru had never been asked before - but, nonetheless, he had helped a friend with advice and then brushed whatever just happened, off.

It was later in the evening now, around 9pm, around five hours after... Whatever had happened with Nagisa.
Yuuta was back by now and had cooked dinner for him and Kaoru as Nagisa had been out with a friend - Ibara - since they had gone out the door.
Despite it being early in the night, Kaoru had felt sleepy so he decided to call it a night, leaving Yuuta to his own activities sitting on the sofa.
"Good-night, Hakaze-senpai!"

Kaoru assumes he's been asleep for maybe 3 hours by the time he hears the dorm door creak open and Nagisa is trying to quietly sneak back in.
However Kaoru can just about see enough to know Nagisa isn't going towards his own bed, but Kaoru's. This causes Kaoru to slightly panic and so he looks over towards Yuuta's own bed to see he is fast asleep and Kaoru breathes a small sigh of relief knowing that whatever Nagisa is planning, Yuuta couldn't see - wouldn't know.
Nagisa is standing by the edge of Kaoru's bed, is slightly leaning over the top of him. When he sees Kaoru awake and looking at him, he smiles and leans down.
"Kaoru-kun!" He says excitedly and Kaoru rushes to put a finger over his mouth and uses the other finger on his other hand to point towards Yuuta's sleeping form.
Nagisa nods and leans down towards Kaoru's level.
"Hi, Kaoru-kun," Nagisa says and Kaoru can just about see a dark tint appear on Nagisa's face - he's blushing. Kaoru finds it cute but doesn't openly say so.
It all happened in the blink of an eye. One minute, Nagisa and Kaoru and just looking at each other in silence and the next, Nagisa has dived towards Kaoru really quick and pecks him on his lips before dashing back.
Kaoru is flustered, stunned, and stuck in his laying down position. 'What. What just happened.' He thought to himself.
Nagisa's breaths are loud in this quiet dorm and after a couple of minutes, Nagisa opens his mouth and asks, "Like that, Kaoru-kun? Actually, it was a bit rushed, I got nervous. Was it good though? Was it good for a kiss, Kaoru-kun?" Nagisa is blabbering, Kaoru chuckles.
"It took me by surprise," he whispers, "Why did you kiss me, Ran-kun? Isn't the Saegusa guy your boyfriend? You're always hanging out with each other..."
Nagisa conceals a laugh and replies, "Ibara? No! He was the one who said I should ask you to teach me how to kiss. I like you Kaoru-kun but feelings and emotions are a bit complicated. I didn't know how to show it but Ibara said an indirect route would help, although it seems it didn't," Nagisa finishes as they awkwardly laugh.
Kaoru is staring again. What did Nagisa just say? 'I like you, Kaoru-kun'. Kaoru knows Nagisa gets confused between his emotions sometimes. Maybe Nagisa didn't mean it in a romantic way, he's probably grateful Kaoru was his best friend and wanted to show his appreciation - despite it being different to how everyone shows appreciation towards their friends.
"Nagisa, feelings are complicated and I know you're not good at conveying-" Kaoru is cut off by a frustrated sigh by the other boy.
Behind them, Yuuta is making noise and Kaoru panics again, thinking Nagisa has just woken him up but he is just turning over and Kaoru is relieved.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that Kaoru-kun. But please believe my words! I'm not a baby, Kaoru-kun. I don't know a lot of things and I don't fully get feelings and emotions but I know enough that these aren't ordinary feelings! They are different compared to my feelings to Yuuta and Ibara!"
"They're feelings of friendship - I like them as my friends - but Kaoru-kun, when I look at you, my heart flutters and it thumps so much and I get so happy! Kaoru-kun please believe me when I say I like you!" Nagisa finishes off, although he was gradually getting louder, Yuuta never stirred awake again.
"Ran-kun," Kaoru breathes out and Nagisa puts his hand on Kaoru's face, cupping his cheek.
"Kaoru-kun, plea-" Nagisa starts before getting cut off as Kaoru is leaning towards him, getting closer and closer to Nagisa before he tilts his head slightly, closes his eyes slowly and brings Nagisa's face closer to his and gives him a soft kiss.
"Like that, Ran-kun. That's how you kiss. You didn't tilt your head and you bumped mine," Kaoru lets out a small laugh.
Nagisa is smiling wide and he finally gets up off the floor from where he's been sitting the whole time and clambers into Kaoru's bed.
Kaoru is shocked for a second before he smiles again - he realises he smiles a lot when Nagisa is around.
Nagisa faces Kaoru and smiles softly before leaning in to Kaoru again, kissing him like Kaoru had just done and asks, "like that?"
Kaoru chuckles and pulls the quilt over the top of them.
"Yes, just like that, Ran-kun."
