Michael stumbled over the broken wall into the church he’d been taking refuge at with a fellow soldier. It was an enemy soldier, but since he hasn’t tried to kill Michael, he really couldn’t care less about being around him.
In fact, he kind of liked it.
Ah… how long has it been since he was separated from his fellow US troops? Michael opens up his tiny notebook to check.
Ah, of course. Almost 3 weeks.
It felt quite scary to be stranded in enemy territory, but at least he had company.
Michael thought as the enemy soldier keeping him company approached him. “Ciao, Michael!” He spoke. “Hello Sebastian.” Michael greeted back.
Sebastian… or as he’d usually call himself, Sebastiano, has been keeping Michael company.
“Look what I found!” Sebastian said, pulling out a vinyl that was surprisingly intact. “Where’d you get that?” Michael asks. Sebastian shrugged. “I just found it in a house.” Sebastian replied as he admired the vinyl.
“Do you think this church has a uh… thing that plays it?” Sebastian asked. “It’s called a record player, and uh, probably. Go find it.” Michael replied nonchalantly. Sebastian then skips over to the area of the church where the podium is.
“Found it!” Sebastian shouted, which echoed through the church. Sebastian puts the vinyl into the player as a song starts playing.
Michael approached Sebastian and the record player and smiled. It’s been a while since he got to hear music like this. He took a seat on a pew near the player as Sebastian hummed the song that was playing over the record player.
Michael leaned back on the pew and closed his eyes, taking in the music and Sebastian’s humming.
Suddenly, he feels a tap on his shoulder. He opens his eyes to find Sebastian with his hand out towards him. “What?” Michael asked, confused. “Let’s dance.” Sebastian suggested. Since Michael’s got nothing better to do anyways, he accepted the offer, taking Sebastian’s hand and getting up.
They danced to the song like any couple would. Michael felt a little strange about dancing with another guy, but it also felt so… relaxing? He’s not quite sure himself. Sebastian, however, looked very relaxed as he hummed and danced.
“This is nice.” Sebastian commented. Michael couldn’t help but chuckle at the other man’s wide smile. “Yeah, it is.” Michael said as they continued dancing in the dimly lit church.
Sebastian laid his head on the other man’s shoulder and exhaled lightly. “I want everyday to be like this.” He said as Michael blushed at how intimate Sebastian was being. “Uhm… yeah.” He replied nervously as they continued dancing to the song.
The song then finally came to an end and Sebastian lifted his head from Michael’s shoulder. “We should do that more often.”
“Dance?” Michael asked.
“Yeah.” Sebastian nodded.
Michael smiled and let out a small chuckle.
“Well, I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t like that.”
